Sunlight streamed through the thin gauze curtains, gently spilling into the warm living room of the Su family's home. Su Chen had grown into a lively and lovely boy, his laughter as clear and melodious as the chirping of an oriole in spring.

One weekend morning, Su Chen got up early, ran to the kitchen, and saw Lin Wan'er preparing breakfast.
