National Highway 318 is a renowned scenic route in China, stretching from Chengdu to Lhasa, boasting breathtaking natural scenery, including snow-capped mountains, grasslands, and lakes. Wuhan University, as a stop on the route, offers many reasons to visit. It's also the one I most want to experience in person.

Today is the day for us to visit Wuhan University. When we arrived at the school, our tour guide Li Laifu first introduced to everyone the unique architectural style of Wuhan University.

Wuhan University, a prestigious century-old institution, is not only a temple of scholarship but also a breathtaking spectacle. Its architecture blends Eastern and Western elements. The Old Library and the Old Science Building, with their soaring eaves and painted corners, dragons, phoenixes, and rolling clouds, exude a simple and elegant beauty. Meanwhile, Western-style buildings, such as the New Library and the Science Building, showcase a simple and elegant modern style. The contrasting styles create a sense of being transported to a palace of architectural art.

The Wuhan University campus is shaded by green trees and filled with the fragrance of flowers. Every spring, thousands of cherry blossoms bloom along the 600-meter-long Cherry Blossom Avenue, their pink petals falling like snow, creating a romantic sea of blossoms that attracts countless visitors, allowing them to fully experience the beauty and wonder of nature.

Wuhan University boasts a history spanning over 130 years, and its campus boasts numerous historical and cultural attractions, including the Old Dormitory and the Old Library. These sites not only hold a profound historical background but also embody the emotions and memories of countless generations. Visitors can experience the rich history and cultural heritage here, and embody the spirit of Wuhan University: self-reliance, perseverance, truth-seeking, and innovation.

Visitors can freely stroll around the Wuhan University campus, admiring the natural scenery and architectural styles, visiting historical and cultural sites, and learning about the university's history and culture. They can also visit the Wanlin Art Museum to see exhibitions, purchase cultural and creative products at the Yingdingbian Cultural Space, and watch an open-air movie at the Plum Garden playground. There are many other ways to enjoy the campus.

There are many delicious restaurants near Wuhan University, such as the Zuiba Wontons on Guangba Road, Zhaoji Weiwei Noodles, and Taizhou Embedded Cake. These delicacies are not only delicious but also affordable, allowing visitors to satisfy their appetite while enjoying the sights.

Entering Wuhan University through its main gate, the first thing that catches your eye is the tall, majestic archway that reads "National Wuhan University." The powerful, imposing traditional Chinese characters on the archway seem to speak of the university's long history and profound heritage, inspiring awe and respect.

Walking along Ziqiang Avenue, the broad road, the beautiful flowerbed in the center, the tree-lined avenues of tall trees along the roadside, the vast expanses of lush green lawns, and the vibrant colors of blooming flowers all combine to create a picturesque campus scene. Lively birds flit through the landscape, sometimes strolling leisurely, sometimes singing. The air is filled with the fragrance of flowers and plants. The surroundings are serene and quiet, with only the occasional bird calls, cicada chirps, and the hurried footsteps of students.

The group continued walking until they arrived at Guiyuan. Wuhan University's dormitories are named after osmanthus, cherry, plum, and maple, each planted with its corresponding flowers and trees. Guiyuan boasts a massive stadium, five basketball courts, three soccer fields, and a standard 400-meter plastic running track, a truly impressive sight. Tall trees offer dense shade everywhere, dotted with lush osmanthus trees. One can easily imagine the enchanting sight of autumn, when the sweet fragrance of osmanthus fills the air.

After exiting Guiyuan, I strolled to Yingyuan. Its unique architecture resembles both a city wall and a series of connected castles. Each dormitory entrance has long steps, giving it the appearance of a palace from afar. Cherry Blossom Avenue, located below the Yingyuan building, is lined with cherry trees. Although it wasn't peak bloom when I visited, the occasional falling golden ginkgo leaf added a touch of romance to the tranquil campus. Every March, the cherry blossoms here reach full bloom, resembling snow and rosy clouds. The entire avenue is blanketed in blossoms, a famous sight in Wuhan, attracting countless tourists.

The Old Dormitory is one of Wuhan University's iconic buildings. It served as an early student dormitory and has become a hallmark of the university. Ascending the long staircase, one feels as if transported back in time, experiencing the lives and studies of the students there. Climbing to the roof offers a panoramic view of the entire Wuhan University campus, including the nearby Old Library. The two complement each other, creating a unique cultural landscape for Wuhan University.

The Old Library is the soul of Wuhan University. This century-old, palace-like building, crowned by an octagonal tower and eaves, features a green glazed tile roof contrasting with the gray walls. A portrait of Lao Tzu hangs above the main entrance, and the inscription "Built in the 23rd Year of the Republic of China" is inscribed on the wall. Every detail exudes the richness and richness of history. Entering the library, the rows of bookshelves and the volumes of ancient tomes quietly speak of the academic heritage and development of Wuhan University. Even today, many students diligently study here, their presence embodying the spirit of Wuhan University: self-reliance, perseverance, truth-seeking, and innovation.

After coming out of the old library, you will see Lover's Hill, which is shaded by green trees and has a quiet environment. It is a favorite dating place for couples from Wuhan University. Sister Xiaotao immediately took Li Fugui to take a lot of photos here.

Strolling down Lover's Hill, we arrived at the Engineering School playground, a student playground and recreational paradise. The red plastic track, green lawn, and students exercising create a vibrant scene, brimming with youthful energy and passion.

In addition to these iconic attractions, Wuhan University offers many other worthwhile attractions, such as the Wanlin Art Museum, which houses a vast collection of paintings, sculptures, and calligraphy, allowing visitors to appreciate the art while also experiencing the university's rich cultural heritage. The Songqing Gymnasium, also steeped in history, bears witness to the university's athletic development and remains a vital venue for student athletic activities.

A tour of the Wuhan University campus offers not only beautiful natural scenery and unique architectural features, but also a rich academic and cultural atmosphere. Students can be seen everywhere, rushing to class, poring over books in the library or study rooms, and discussing academic issues in various corners of the campus. This positive learning atmosphere is deeply inspiring.

The beauty of Wuhan University lies not only in its outward appearance but also in its inner spirit. Carrying a century of history and culture, it has cultivated countless outstanding talents and made significant contributions to China's education and social development. Visiting here is like reading a vivid history book, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty while gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of Wuhan University's past, present, and future.

Before we knew it, the afterglow of the setting sun cast a golden veil over the Wuhan University campus. Everyone, filled with both accomplishments and a sense of reluctance, slowly left the campus, concluding this unforgettable trip to Wuhan University. However, the beauty and spirit of Wuhan University remained deeply etched in Xiao Tao's heart, leaving her eagerly anticipating the next reunion.
