Traveling through Thailand

Chapter 7 Invitation

That incident had an indelible impact on Sky. Even after escaping the danger of being gang-raped, that utterly ugly relationship remained an indelible mark on his heart. Xiao Yi had no other options; he could only move on from this on his own, or someone else could help him escape that failed relationship. Thinking of his original partner, Xiao Yi expressed some anticipation for his upcoming college life.

Xiao Yi sighed inwardly: Sigh, until his destined person shows up, I'll have to continue translating novels for him. I've already finished translating The Devil's Path, so how about a self-help guide? This one started out pretty cheerful, so I'd give him a change of heart. I just don't know if he'll like this one.

One rainy day, Xiao Yi suddenly lost his hearing. He discovered this after seeing a funny comic on Sky and wanted to share it. The first time he encountered this, he was terrified, while the person involved was quite calm. He had experienced the mute, the blind, and the disabled, so simply losing his hearing was child's play.

After searching Sky.com, he finally found the cause, much to his relief. He immediately placed his phone in front of Xiao Yi, motioning for him to read the explanation: Losing hearing on rainy days is a supernatural condition known as sudden deafness. Sufferers of this condition are unable to hear anything on rainy days, save for the voice of their destined partner.

After roughly scanning the contents, I returned the phone to him and wrote on the paper: I don’t hear anyone else’s voice here, I think there must be a soul mate bound to me.

Seeing what he wrote, Sky was incredulous: "From the information I've searched, I know that people with this condition usually have a partner. How come you don't have one? Are you too handsome to find a soul mate?"

Xiao Yi shrugged and indicated that he didn't know either.

Maybe God couldn't stand the fact that he lived a leisurely life despite being deaf, so it rained for several days straight. The heavy rain would turn into light rain, and the light rain would turn into moderate rain. In short, Xiao Yi was basically deaf for the rest of the day. This also made Sky develop the habit of carrying sticky notes with him at all times.

The holiday ended and the school term began. With Sky's diligent nagging, I rushed to school before lunch. After registering, my university life began.

After a few classes, Xiao Yi said that architecture was easy. Having built a thatched house before, he could just follow the instructions. By changing what needed to be changed and revising what needed to be altered, he had already decided on the topic for his next assignment.

In just a few days, Sky had a new friend, a silly-looking boy, just like Sky in high school. But if that incident hadn't happened, Sky would have been just like this boy, with a silly look in his eyes all the time.

"Which elective course do you choose?"

Xiao Yi, backpack in one hand and Sky leading the other, hurried to the elective area. Within a few steps, he saw a large crowd gathered in front of a variety of colorful stalls. This scene immediately made him stop in his tracks. Feeling the resistance, Sky immediately understood his friend's intention and reluctantly headed to a less crowded area.

He walked closer to see the words written on the stall, and the poster standing there. It was this familiar outfit that struck Xiao Yi as familiar, though he couldn't immediately place where he'd seen it before. He didn't think much of it, though. He saw the outfits their group was wearing when recruiting. Well, he had no desire to join. As he wandered around, he realized the only things he knew about Dragon Country were cosplay and Chinese.

"Is it necessary to participate in this club activity? I guess it's possible not to participate."

"Look, almost everyone has chosen it. How can you not choose it?"

Xiao Yi wanted to say he was being shameless, but... looking at Sky's arrogant expression, which looked like he was just trying to get his head in, he could only pout and choose the Chinese Language Club. For someone from Dragon Country, choosing this subject was a complete understatement, but Sky, knowing his friend's character, didn't say anything.

After filling out the form, Rain called out from behind. Looking back, he saw his hair color standing out in the crowd. Perhaps he was afraid others wouldn't notice, so he kept waving his arms. Sky looked at his new friend's silly expression, truly worried that he'd be snatched away by someone with ill intentions one day.

"You're so silly and cute, just like when I first met you."

"I wasn't that stupid back then." Sky didn't agree with his friend. He would never admit that he was so stupid back then.

After a while of school, he noticed an increase in architecture classwork, coupled with other subjects. It had been a while since he and Sky had been at the orphanage together. This time, a car pulled up on the side of the road as they left the orphanage. Before he could even get close, a man in a black suit opened the door. He usually ignored any harmless glances. But when the man who got out of the car kept his eyes on Xiao Yi, he knew they were coming to see him.

The non-malicious gaze meant that the person was not looking for trouble. Thinking back on all his activities, he was sure that he had never seen the person in front of him before.

"Chat?"

"What are you talking about?"

Sitting in a cafe, since it was chosen at the last minute, after his bodyguards asked everyone to leave, there were no outsiders left in the entire cafe.

"Xiao Yi, a freshman from Longguo. He's been trading stocks since high school, making small profits but few losses. He's the only son of Long T Group. Although he's still a student, he's already taken over most of the rights."

"The investigation is very clear." Xiao Yi didn't care about the information that anyone with a keen eye could find out.

"I'd like to invite you to the motorcycle race tomorrow night."

"There's probably no information you've collected that indicates I can ride a motorcycle."

“So just visiting.”

Xiao Yi rubbed the tip of his index finger: "Can I refuse?"

"of course."

After getting the answer, Xiao Yi was ready to get up and leave. To him, college students should behave like college students. As long as social affairs did not come to his eyes, he could choose to turn a blind eye.

"Wait, I think you will be satisfied with this information."

After taking the information he handed me and glancing over it, I knew this man was no ordinary person. The details were incredibly detailed, describing how he'd manipulated a group, how he'd retaliated for his friend's anger, and how he'd made those imprisoned suffer daily. There was also the moment he'd revealed his martial arts prowess to Sky for the first time. It was clear no country could be underestimated.

One of the items reminded him why the poster looked so familiar on the day he chose his electives. It turned out the outfit was the same one he'd worn when he'd visited Country T. He closed the information and looked across at the man. "I don't like beating around the bush."

"Great! My boss wants to see you tomorrow night at ten o'clock."

"It's too late. I'm still a student."

"Once in a while, give it a chance."

"Six o'clock. No waiting after that time."

"it is good."
