Traveling through Thailand

Chapter 54 Rain's Monologue

This vacation was unforgettable. After returning to P'phayu and telling him what happened, he held me tightly in his arms. I could feel his fear in his trembling body. Even now, even after returning from such a dangerous place, my hands and feet still shake uncontrollably. Every time P'phayu sees me, he doesn't say anything, but just quietly holds me, letting me feel his presence.

During the days since I returned home, I've been constantly prepared for the police to come looking for me. But day after day passed, then a week, half a month... and even when school was about to start, there was still no sign of police questioning or summons.

When I first returned, I often dreamed about the day I was kidnapped. When he and Sky's father were taken to the abandoned building, he was in a state of panic. He wanted to call for help, but his phone was taken away when they caught him. Then he saw Sky appear alone, fighting off seven or eight people.

Only then did I realize how powerful Sky was. He wasn't the sweet, sensible kid he looked. Every move he made was aimed directly at his opponent's weak spots, and anyone who fell to the ground after being hit wouldn't get back up. Soon, there were more than a dozen people on the ground, groaning and clutching their wounds.

Looking at Sky standing in front of me, his not-so-broad shoulders firmly blocking my way, my mind was blank at that moment. The only thing I knew was that from the moment he appeared, I had never taken my eyes off him.

His father was the same. From the moment his son appeared to the moment he could fight dozens of people with ease, he was very surprised. He didn't know when his son became so powerful.

Unfortunately, Sky was pointed at a gun in the end. The final outcome is self-evident, he was also caught.

When Sky was pushed to sit in front of them, the man with the gun took out his phone and took a photo. At that time, I didn't know who he was going to send it to. My mind quickly flashed through the people around me, and finally guessed that these people might be P'phayu's opponents, after all, they had a criminal record.

Of course, I wondered if Sky had accidentally offended someone, but knowing Sky, that was impossible. After all, he was a homebody, staying indoors as long as possible, and when he did go out, it was only to buy groceries or his favorite comic book.

Most importantly, he lives with Yi. With him as his backer, there's no way anyone would be so foolish as to mess with him. So... what are these people trying to do by arresting them?

When I was in the car, I was being stared at the whole time, so I didn't dare to ask Sky if he could guess the reason.

Only when he was locked in a cage did he dare to ask Sky quietly if he knew what these people were doing and why they were arrested.

At that time, Sky just lowered his head and rubbed the beads on the red string on his right wrist. When the beads lighted up slightly, he tucked the bracelet into his sleeve. As he watched it from beginning to end, he remembered the purpose of this bracelet. At that time, he felt a pang of regret, regretting that he had put it in a corner as a collection to gather dust.

But let's not forget that when I saw that bead, the weight of my worry dropped. I knew Yi's abilities; no matter what, he could always resolve it. So, when I saw a man in casual clothes, holding an inky sword, appear at the door, my nervous, fearful heartbeat instantly returned to normal.

I recognized him the moment he stepped foot in here. Why was he recognized even though he walked in with his back to the light? It was because I was playful by nature, and I tried to see other emotions on his face, which made me do many things that made Sky angry. And it was this aura from within that always suppressed him, a feeling that could freeze one's soul. It was truly fresh in my memory.

Because of this, my favorite place to be during school sports meets was by his side. I'd beg him to give me some cooling. Of course, that was a clear failure, so I came up with a roundabout way to save Rain.

Wherever Sky was, if he showed any signs of heat, he would definitely lower his aura to keep Sky in a comfortable zone. Often, at this point, he'd be able to take advantage of this walking human air conditioner. Of course, I'd asked him why he had this ability, and Yi would simply say it was passed down from his family.

Before this incident, I thought kung fu was just like what's portrayed in modern Dragon Country movies and TV shows: internal training of the breath and external training of the muscles, bones, and skin. Think I'm talking about Ip Man, Wong Fei-hung, and the like. But after today, I finally understood what ancient martial arts are. It turns out there's a difference between martial arts and martial arts.

Watching him move at inhuman speed amidst the dozens of people surrounding him, he saw people falling wherever he went. Those who fell showed no signs of pain, and no blood flowed. But he knew this time, the fallen would never stand up again. He had seen the chests of those who fell still, several times, and for the first time, he clearly felt the fragility of life.

After he finished dealing with these people, he kidnapped the uncle who brought us here and ordered the gunmen to point at us. For some reason, I was not afraid. There was only one thought in my mind: he will take me out.

What happened next was exactly as he'd imagined. He heard a sharp, swishing sound as the sword was unsheathed. Before he could even see his movements, the cage was ripped open. With his pull, they quickly emerged from the cage.

Before we could even catch our breath after exiting the cage, countless bullets were fired at us. He was the one who stood in front of us, blocking the bullets with his body and the weapon in his hand. Finally, while the enemy was reloading, he led us to run quickly towards the door.

I finally reached the door, and just as I was about to run out, he grabbed me and pulled me back, forcing me to hide behind a pile of discarded boxes. That's when I smelled blood. Looking in the direction of the scent, I realized he'd been hit by the previous wave of bullets. I'd thought he was truly formidable, able to protect us from such a barrage of powerful bullets. I hadn't expected him to be the one blocking the bullets that were aimed at us from behind. My only hope now was that no vital parts were hit.

After leaving the abandoned warehouse, he led them to the sports car. Ben was still thinking about how the four of them would sit when Xiao Yi said directly, "I'll stay, you guys go."

The journey back wasn't peaceful either, as I encountered a roadblock. Luckily, they weren't numerous, only ten. Based on Sky's skill this morning, these few should be no problem. When they engaged in combat, even without my martial arts background, I realized the ten men were far superior to those from this morning.

In the end, Sky's strategy was slightly better and he defeated everyone. His father and I breathed a sigh of relief when we saw this, but before we could fully relax, one of the people lying on the ground secretly stood up, picked up the sword and slashed at Sky.

We shouted, "Watch out, Sky!" but we were still a bit far away. By the time Sky heard us, it was too late. He turned and saw the sword about to strike him. Just as everyone couldn't bear to watch what was about to happen, they all closed their eyes.

There was a bang of a gunshot.

Sky's father and I opened our eyes immediately and breathed a sigh of relief when we saw Sky was safe and sound. When we saw it was Brother Cai, our hearts finally relaxed. Sky drove off to find Yi, and with Brother Cai's help, we returned to our respective homes.

Around this time, I lost contact with Sky and Xiao Yi. I asked P'phayu to contact Brother Cai to inquire about their situation, but all I got was, "Sky is fine." I also visited Sky's father's place, but the answer I received was that Sky was no longer in Country T.

I haven't heard from Sky for more than half a year, and I always have a feeling that I may never see him again.

As for Xiao Yi...

I heard from P'phayu that he was dead.

When I heard the news, my first reaction was to call Sky. He must be feeling bad right now.

At the start of the school year, I was mentally prepared for Sky to not show up, but when the teacher told me he'd gone abroad to study, that sliver of hope was completely extinguished. I knew Sky had gone to Longguo, Yi's hometown. I had no idea what he was doing there, or what he looked like now. Was he still the same person I remembered?

Every time I pass a familiar spot in school, my mind is always filled with images of the three of us together. Often, at these moments, the sadness buried deep within me would surface. It was only when P'phayu asked if I wanted to transfer schools or take a leave of absence that I realized how much I'd neglected my partner's feelings, letting him carefully consider my feelings.

To prevent him from seeing my tears, I threw myself into his arms and whispered, "P'phayu, I miss them."

"Will they come back?"

"Yes, I will come back." Phayu replied while hugging me tightly.
