HP Star Shining
Chapter 89
Hermione cast Apparition, and the Christmas tree beside the table rose a few inches, floated to the side, and landed gently in front of the table, just blocking them.
Between the four legs of the table, through the dense branches at the foot of the tree, Harry saw several professors and the Minister of Magic walk towards the bar, then stop, turn on their heels and walk in their direction.
From the nearby table came sighs and grumbles as professors and ministers took their seats.
It turns out that such a good seat was not empty, but was reserved for the protagonist.
A pair of shiny green high heels came over, and for some reason the "tapping" sound made Harry's heart feel like it was beating in his throat.
A woman's voice came, "A small glass of violet water."
"mine."
It was Professor McGonagall's voice.
"Four pints of mead."
"Thanks, Rosmerta."
Hagrid.
"A glass of soda with ice and conch cherry syrup."
"its mine."
Yes, Professor Flitwick.
Su Xingchen silently listened to the voices and identified the people. They couldn't see the faces of the people next to them from where they were lying.
"That's your redcurrant rum, Minister."
"Thank you, Rosmerta."
Huh? Su Xingchen pricked up her ears. She didn't recognize the last person, but that didn't stop her from hearing Ms. Rosmerta call him Minister.
The only person who can be called Minister is the Minister of Magic.
This environment, this combination, made Su Xingchen's heart suddenly hang in the air. She glanced at Harry nervously. Was this the time for him to hear that his parents were killed by Sirius? She had always thought that would happen next semester.
So this child is going to be stimulated again after having fun outing for the first time?
The treatment of the protagonist is really... speechless.
"What brings you here, Minister?" asked Madame Rosmerta.
Fudge twisted his portly lower body in his chair, as if checking for eavesdroppers. Then he whispered, "What else could it be, dear? It could be Sirius Black. I suppose you heard what happened at school on Halloween, didn't you?"
"I've heard some rumors," Madam Rosmerta admitted. "Do you think Black is still around, Minister?"
"I believe it is still there," Fudge replied briefly.
"You're aware that Dementors have searched my bar twice?" Madam Rosmerta said sharply. "They've scared away all my customers, and it's having a huge impact on my business, Minister."
"Rosmerta, dear, believe me, I don't like them either," Fudge argued awkwardly. "I'm sorry, but it's a necessary precaution."
"I still can't believe it." Madam Rosmerta mused. "I still remember what he looked like when he was at Hogwarts, Sirius Black. If you had told me back then that he would join the Dark Lord, I would have thought you were drunk."
"You don't know half of it," Fudge said gruffly. "Few people know the worst of what he did."
"The worst?" Lady Rosmerta seemed curious. "You mean, worse than killing so many innocent people?"
"Of course," Fudge replied.
"What could be worse?"
"You said you remembered him from Hogwarts," Professor McGonagall said softly. "Do you remember who his best friend was?"
Here it comes, Su Xingchen unconsciously clenched his palms.
Harry gave her a strange look.
Su Xing smiled awkwardly after realizing it belatedly and loosened his hand.
Strange, why is she so nervous? Is it because of the environment and atmosphere?
"Of course I do," chuckled Madam Rosemerta. "Never saw them apart, did I? The few times they were here, they made me laugh. It was like a double act, Sirius Black and James Potter."
The empty wine glass Harry was holding as he was shoved under the table clattered to the floor with a resounding thud, and Ron quickly kicked him.
"Black and Potter are the leaders of their little group," said Professor McGonagall. "Of course, they are both very clever, extremely clever. I have never seen such a pair of troublemakers."
"I don't know." Hagrid chuckled. "Maybe the Weasley twins could give them a run for their money."
"They were like brothers back then," Professor Flitwick put in. "Inseparable."
"That's right," Fudge said. "Potter trusted Black more than any of his friends, and that didn't change after graduation. Black was best man when James and Lily got married, and he became godfather when Harry was born. Of course, Harry didn't know about this, but you can imagine the torment it would have brought him if he had known."
Su Xingchen was frightened with every word the professors and Fudge said. Harry now knew how close his father and Black were, so he would be desperate after hearing what happened next.
Although it is fake, the painful process of discovering the truth is real.
She gave Harry a worried look.
He is only thirteen years old. If this is the chosen one, then he might as well just be a salted fish.
"But Black betrayed them, James and Lily." Fudge lowered his voice. "They used an extremely complex spell, the Fidelius Charm. It uses magic to hide a secret in the soul of a living person. Unless the Secret-Keeper reveals the secret, the Dark Lord will never be able to find James and Lily's residence, even if he is standing right under their window."
Su Xingchen didn't know that this spell was actually used. The movie didn't go into detail, so she didn't know all the details.
"So Black is Potter's Secret-Keeper?" Madam Rosmerta exclaimed in a low voice.
"Yes." Professor McGonagall's tone was slightly gloomy. "Potter told Dumbledore that Black would never tell anyone even if he died. Even if Dumbledore told him that someone close to him had betrayed him and was providing information to You-Know-Who. But James insisted on using Black."
"And then, the Fidelius Charm was only cast for a week..." Fudge's voice was heavy.
"Black betrayed them?" Madam Rosmerta whispered.
"Vile, filthy traitor!" Hagrid yelled, and half the bar fell silent.
"Keep your voice down!" Professor McGonagall reminded him.
"I touched him!" roared Hagrid. "I was the one who carried Harry out of the wreckage of the house after James and Lily died. Poor little thing, with a long scar on his forehead, and his mum and dad are dead..."
Hagrid choked up as he spoke, "Black was riding his flying motorcycle, looking pale and shaking. I didn't know he was the Secret Keeper, and I was trying to comfort him."
