HP Star Shining
Chapter 78
"What's wrong? What's wrong?" Seeing the two people's actions, Harry and Ron caught up from behind and asked.
"It's okay, we're just joking." Su Xingchen answered Ron. Hermione took the opportunity to rub her hands before putting them down. They were so tender and felt great.
The four of them walked towards Gryffindor and found that the corridor leading to the Fat Lady was crowded with students.
"Why don't you go in?" Ron asked curiously.
Harry looked over the heads of the students in front of him and saw that the door to the common room seemed to be closed.
Although Su Xingchen didn't see whether the Fat Lady's portrait was scratched, she thought it was most likely this.
"Excuse me, please." Percy walked through the crowd solemnly. "I'm the student union president. Why are you all stuck here? You can't have all forgotten the password..."
His voice suddenly stopped, the crowd fell silent, and a chill seemed to spread through the corridor.
Percy's voice rang out again with an inexplicably sharp edge, "Someone go get Professor Dumbledore, quick!"
"What happened?" asked Ginny, who had just walked over.
No one answered her because Dumbledore appeared.
The Gryffindor students huddled together to make way for him.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione all crowded over to see what was going on.
"Oh, God!" Hermione screamed and grabbed Harry's arm.
Su Xingchen didn't intend to squeeze in. She stood on tiptoe and looked, and the fat lady disappeared from her portrait.
The painting looked severely hacked at, with fragments of the canvas scattered across the floor, and a large piece missing.
Sure enough, Sirius Black had been here.
Dumbledore looked serious and ordered people to find the Fat Lady, and then Peeves brought the information she gave.
Dumbledore immediately decided to conduct a large-scale search of Hogwarts Castle, and students from all colleges were forced to sleep on the floor of the Great Hall.
The school is guarded and managed by the male and female student union presidents and prefects, and professors come to check every hour to ensure safety.
After a while, the auditorium was bustling again, and the students who had left came back.
Just as Dumbledore was about to leave, he suddenly thought of something, "Oh, you need..."
He waved his wand lightly, and the long tables and benches in the auditorium flew to both sides. With another wave, hundreds of soft purple sleeping bags appeared on the floor.
"Have a good sleep." He said, then walked out and closed the auditorium door.
The hall immediately filled with chatter, and the Gryffindor students told the students from other houses what had just happened.
"Everyone get into your sleeping bags," Percy yelled. "Hurry up, no more talking, lights out in ten minutes."
"Come here," Ron said to Harry and the other two, grabbing the sleeping bag and dragging it to the wall.
Su Xingchen readily picked up a sleeping bag and dragged it over. That was great, as she just didn't like sleeping among a group of people.
It is expected that these students will not be able to sleep tonight and will have to chat secretly for most of the night.
"Do you think Black is still in the castle?" Hermione asked in a worried voice.
"Dumbledore seems to think he's still here," Harry replied.
The four of them got into their sleeping bags fully clothed. Su Xingchen still had the book in his hand, and there was a pillow ready.
"It's a good thing he chose tonight." Hermione was chatting with her head supported by her arms, and so were Harry and Ron. The only person lying in a sleeping position was Su Xingchen.
"I think he's lost track of time since he was on the run," said Ron. "I wonder if today's Halloween? Otherwise, he'd be here."
Hermione shuddered.
Around them, classmates were also talking about the same topic: How did he get in?
Su Xingchen curled up in her sleeping bag and listened with a mixture of laughter and tears as they discussed how Black had gotten into Hogwarts. Things like Apparition, flying in, and even turning into a clump of grass. There was nothing they couldn't describe, except what you couldn't imagine.
"Come on, am I the only one who has taken the time to read 'Hogwarts: A History'?" Hermione was very annoyed and said to Harry, Ron and Su Xingchen.
"I suppose so, what's the matter?" asked Ron.
"The castle is enchanted to prevent sneaking in. Apparition is impossible. Dumbledore said no disguise could fool the Dementors. If he had flown in, the Dementors would have seen him."
So what does this mean?
"Lights out now!" Percy shouted. "I want everyone to close their eyes and be silent."
The candles all went out instantly the moment Percy finished speaking, and the enchanted ceiling looked like the sky outside, dotted with stars.
Under such a starry sky, listening to the whispers around, one feels like sleeping in an outdoor camping in the breeze.
Su Xingchen blinked and stared at the ceiling in a daze. She had read "Hogwarts: A History" and she didn't know how Black got in. The movie didn't say it, so maybe it was really Professor Lupin who let him in.
After a while, there were footsteps approaching, and everything around became quiet and pretended to be asleep.
"Don't be afraid." A voice came from above.
After a while, Su Xingchen said in a muffled voice: "Well, I'm not afraid."
The footsteps gradually faded away.
Perhaps because there were too many people sleeping in the auditorium, Su Xingchen felt a tightness in his chest, and the books under his head were very hard and uncomfortable.
Harry opened his mouth to say something, but she had already buried her head completely in the sleeping bag.
Around three in the morning, most of the students gradually fell asleep.
Harry saw Headmaster Dumbledore come in and heard him talking to Snape.
The good news was that they would be able to return to Gryffindor tomorrow morning. The bad news was that Snape suspected that there was a spy under Black's wing at Hogwarts, and he obviously wanted to reveal who it was.
"Severus," Dumbledore said, a note of warning in his voice, "I doubt that anyone in this castle could have helped Black break in."
Dumbledore's stern tone ended the topic, and Snape stopped talking.
Harry looked to the side and found that Ron and Hermione both had their eyes open. "What's going on?" Ron asked in a silent voice.
Harry shook his head. He wanted to see if Xingchen was asleep too, but her face was still buried in the sleeping bag, so he couldn't tell if she was awake or not.
For no reason, he felt a little lost.
On the first night back in Gryffindor, Hermione squeezed into Su Xingchen's bed for the first time.
"What's the matter?" Su Xingchen looked at Hermione's mysterious expression with amusement, and made half of his seat available for her. "Is there anything you want to discuss with me?"
Usually, Hermione would study for half a day before she went to bed, so she asked this question.
