HP Star Shining
Chapter 66
A moment later, a short, fat knight in full armor came clattering into the picture, chasing his pony. Judging from the grass stains on the knees of his metal armor, he seemed to have just fallen off his horse.
"Aha!" He saw the four men in front of the painting. "What villains dare to trespass on my private property? Perhaps you are here to laugh at my fall? Draw your swords!"
The four of them watched in amazement as the smaller knight drew his sword and began swinging it wildly while jumping up and down in anger.
But the sword was too long for him, and he used too much force, lost his balance, and fell face down on the grass.
Su Xingchen covered his eyes, not because of how badly the smaller knight fell, but... just... how should I put it? It was simply too much to watch.
"Are you all right?" Harry asked, moving closer to the picture.
"Go away! You disgusting villain!" The knight grabbed his sword and supported himself to stand up, but the blade was stuck too deep in the mud and he couldn't pull it out no matter how hard he tried.
Finally the little knight slumped down on the grass, pushing back his mask and wiping his sweaty face.
"Listen," Harry said quickly, taking advantage of his fatigue. "We're looking for the North Tower. I suppose you don't know the way?"
Su Xingchen glanced at Harry. He hadn't expected him to be so cunning, or rather, quite strategic. If he had asked directly, the knight might not have told him.
"An expedition!" The little knight's previous anger seemed to have disappeared without a trace. He stood up and shouted, "Follow me, my dear friends! We must find our target, or die heroically in the charge!"
No, she didn't want to die, thanks, she just wanted a classroom.
After the little knight finished speaking excitedly, he ran into the photo frame on the left and disappeared.
The four of them exchanged a tacit glance, then followed the clanking of his armor, chasing him down the corridor. Every now and then, they'd see him running through a painting in front of them.
"You must have a strong heart, the hard times are still ahead!" the knight shouted.
No one realized anything was wrong until he appeared in front of a group of panic-stricken women in hoop skirts. The painting was hanging on the wall of a narrow spiral staircase.
The four of them panted heavily as they climbed up the rapidly spiraling stairs, feeling increasingly dizzy.
Finally, they heard muffled voices overhead.
Are we there yet? We are here!
"Farewell, my comrades!" cried the knight, throwing himself into a painting of a grim-faced monk. "If you need a noble soul and a strong body, call for Sir Cadogan!"
Su Xingchen couldn't even utter the word "thank you" as she ran quickly on the rapidly spiraling stairs. She almost vomited what she had eaten in the morning.
Who invented this narrow and steep curved spiral staircase?
If she had known that the Divination classroom was so difficult to get to, she would have stubbornly fought with Hermione when choosing courses and would have focused on taking only Care of Magical Creatures.
Most of the students in the class gathered on a small platform, but there was no door on the platform.
Ron nudged Harry with his arm, pointing him to the ceiling, where there was a round trapdoor with a brass handle.
"Sybill Trelawney, Divination Master," Harry read the sign. "But how do we get up there?"
As if in response to his question, the trapdoor opened and a silver ladder was lowered, landing right at his feet.
The students on the platform were quiet.
"You go first." Ron pushed him with a smile, and Harry was the first to go up the stairs.
It was the strangest thing in a classroom they had ever seen.
It looked less like a classroom and more like a cross between a loft and an old-fashioned teahouse, crammed with small round tables, at least twenty of them, surrounded by chintz armchairs and bulging little poufs.
The curtains in the room were drawn tightly, and all the lights were covered with red cloth. Everything in the classroom was illuminated by a hazy red light.
A fire roared in the fireplace, filling the air with a scorching smell. On the heavily laden hearth stood a large copper kettle, which, under the influence of the heat, emitted a strong, strange, and sickening aroma.
The walls were also lined with shelves, crowded with dirty quills, candle ends, a lot of tattered playing cards, a silver crystal ball and a pile of teacups.
The way of entering and the decoration of the classroom are very gypsy-style, which perfectly demonstrates the mystery of divination. It would be even better if the copper pot emitting a strange smell could be thrown away, Su Xingchen thought, covering his mouth and nose.
In the first Divination class at Hogwarts, Professor Trelawney's weird talk scared all the students. Unfortunate things would happen to everyone, and Harry was given a special death prophecy.
After class, all the students avoided Harry and were unwilling to look at him, as if he was about to fall to the ground at any time. Even Ron didn't dare to look into his eyes.
Su Xingchen was helpless. Why did the male lead’s role of being excluded start so early this year?
She could see that Harry also believed and was somewhat afraid, after all, he had seen the big black dog that Professor Trelawney had described with his own eyes.
But that's your godfather.
"I think there's something wrong with Professor Trelawney..." Su Xingchen stopped and tapped his temple with his finger.
Harry, Ron and Hermione all looked at her in astonishment. After all, she had always respected every professor and would never say anything bad about anyone, not even Lockhart, whom she hated the most last year.
"I don't think she makes sense either," Hermione said calmly.
Seeing that Harry still seemed a little worried, Su Xingchen leaned close to his ear and asked in a tone that only the two of them could hear, "Do you think I can predict the future?"
Harry nodded without hesitation, he had already had his suspicions.
Seeing that he seemed to believe it, Su Xingchen retreated to her original position and said, "I said Professor Trelawney was wrong. This is not a sign of death." It was a good thing that she didn't say the last sentence. After she finished speaking, she did not stop and walked away with ease.
Well, she has to maintain the image of a free and easy hermit, as if she can really predict the future.
In some ways, she could be considered a prophet.
Hermione caught up with her from behind, took her arm, and whispered, "What did you say to Harry just now? He doesn't look so bad anymore."
Su Xingchen showed a mischievous smile, "To appease the child."
She just couldn't bear to see Harry always worried, so she would find an opportunity to ask him to "keep the secret" for her. If he asked her for a prediction in the future, she would tell Harry that it was a lie. Anyway, she had already told Hermione that it was just to coax him.
Hehehe, she is really an ordinary little genius.
