HP Star Shining
Chapter 146
Su Xingchen was a little disappointed. The real Goblet of Fire was far less exquisite and gorgeous than the one in the movie.
Even though it looked large in Dumbledore's hand, it couldn't hide the fact that it could be lifted with just one hand.
After the welcome party, Karkaroff led the students towards the door. When they reached the door at the same time as the four of them, Harry stopped and let Karkaroff pass first.
"Thank you," Karkaroff said casually, glancing at him.
Just this one glance made Karkaroff completely stunned.
He turned his head, as if he couldn't believe his eyes, and stared at Harry's scar.
The Durmstrang students, following their headmaster, also stopped, looking at Harry curiously, with understanding expressions on their faces.
A boy with oil stains on his chest poked the girl next to him with his arm and pointed at Harry's forehead without any concealment.
"Yes, that's Harry Potter." An angry voice came from behind them.
Karkaroff whirled around. There stood Mad-Eye Moody, leaning heavily on his cane, his demonic eyes fixed unblinkingly.
Harry saw Karkaroff's face turn pale, a terrible look of alternating resentment and fear taking hold.
"It's you!" He stared at Moody blankly.
"It's me," said Moody grimly. "Unless you have something to say to me or Potter, Karkaroff, then get out of here. You're blocking the door."
Half the students in the auditorium were waiting behind them, and those at the back were scrambling to stick their heads out to see what was causing the congestion.
Karkaroff said nothing more, waving his hand as he led the students out of the auditorium.
Moody kept staring at him, an expression of extreme disgust on his incomplete face, until his back completely disappeared.
No wonder he had that expression, Su Xingchen thought. If this were the real Moody, he'd definitely hate Karkaroff. But this fake Moody, he'd hate him even more. After all, he was a traitor, and he was such an extreme believer.
The next day was Saturday, Halloween, and also the day for the Goblet of Fire Warrior selection.
The students who usually come to have breakfast late on weekends came early today. They gathered there, and some of them even had bread in their hands.
The Goblet of Fire was placed in the center, where the Sorting Hat usually sits.
A thin gold line was drawn around it, encircling the cup.
"Has anyone put their name in?" Ron asked a third-year girl eagerly.
"Yes, the Durmstrang gang," Perkin replied, "but I haven't seen anyone sign up for Hogwarts yet."
"Maybe someone set it off last night while everyone was asleep," Harry said with a smile. "If it were me, I would do the same thing, for fear of being seen... It would be so embarrassing if the cup threw my name out."
After Harry finished speaking, he heard someone laughing loudly from behind.
He looked back and saw George, Fred, and Lee Jordan hurrying over, all three of them looking extremely excited.
"It's done." Fred said to Harry, Ron, Hermione and Su Xingchen in a very proud tone.
"What?" Ron was confused.
"Aging agent, so stupid." Fred really didn't want to admit that this idiot was his brother.
"Everyone drank a drop." George rubbed his hands together excitedly. "We only need to grow a few more months."
"If any of us wins, the one thousand prize money will be divided equally among the three of us." Lee Jordan had a happy smile on his face.
"I don't think it's going to work," Hermione warned. "Dumbledore will definitely have considered that."
Neither Fred, George, nor Lee Jordan paid any attention to her because she had said the same thing too many times.
"Are you ready?" Fred said to George and Lee Jordan, shaking with excitement. "Well, come on, I'll go in first."
Fred pulled a piece of parchment from his pocket. On it was written: FRED WEASLEY, HOGWARTS.
Su Xingchen blinked at Hermione and pulled her away a little to avoid her being harmed when the monster flew out.
Fred walked straight to the edge of the age line, stood there and swung on tiptoe, like a diver. Under the gaze of everyone, he took a deep breath and easily crossed the line.
For a moment, Harry thought he had succeeded.
George probably thought so too, for he shouted triumphantly and followed Fred in.
Then the twins flew out of the golden coil, as if thrown out by a shot putter.
George and Fred fell to the ground in pain. In addition to the physical pain, with a loud bang, identical white beards grew on their chins.
Everyone burst into laughter.
The two men got up and saw each other's white beards, but they didn't fight like in the movies. Instead, they looked at each other and laughed.
"I warned you," said a deep, amused voice, and everyone turned to see Headmaster Dumbledore walking towards them.
He looked at George and Fred, his eyes twinkling. "I suggest you both go to Madam Pomfrey. She is already tending to Miss Fawcett from Ravenclaw and Mr. Summers from Hufflepuff."
George and Fred set off for the hospital, and Lee Jordan went with them, still laughing his "ho-ho-ho" laugh.
Harry decided to go see Hagrid; they hadn't been to his hut since the beginning of the term.
Hermione's face suddenly showed an extremely excited expression. "I just remembered that I haven't mobilized Hagrid to join spew yet."
She ran off happily, "Wait for me, I'll go upstairs and get a badge and come back."
"What's wrong with her?" Ron felt bad when he thought of this association.
Of course, the three of them paid the membership fee under Hermione's coercion and inducement, but after Harry and Ron's eloquent persuasion, they finally persuaded Hermione to agree to join a few more members before starting to wear the badge.
"Ron, look," Harry said suddenly, "it's your friend."
Beauxbatons students were entering the entrance hall, including the Veela-like girl.
The people surrounding the Goblet of Fire stepped back to make room for them to pass, but their eyes were still watching intently.
Madame Maxime had the students of Beauxbatons line up, and one by one they crossed the age line and dropped parchment into the Goblet of Fire.
As each name was thrown into the fire, the blue flames quickly turned red and burst into sparks.
"What do you think will happen to those who aren't chosen?" Ron whispered to Harry after seeing the Veela-like girl drop the note. "Will they return to school, or stay here and watch the game?"
"I don't know." Harry glanced at Su Xingchen and found that she was still looking at Beauxbatons and didn't notice the little movement between the two.
