HP Star Shining
Chapter 120
Su Xingchen had heard that Bill worked at Gringotts, which is a bank.
He was also the Head Boy of the Hogwarts Student Union, so she thought Bill was probably similar to Percy, serious, nagging and liked to give orders, but it turned out that was not the case at all.
I smiled to myself. It seems that no one can escape the stereotype.
When Harry went downstairs, Su Xingchen was holding a coffee cup and listening to Percy across the table talking incessantly about a report he was completing for the Department of International Magical Cooperation about the Crucible Leak.
Although she maintained a polite smile, Harry could see the despair on her face.
Before he could say anything, someone else was quicker.
"Xingchen!" Hermione ran down the stairs and hugged her.
After everyone quickly finished breakfast, Mr. Weasley took them off.
Of course, they were the only younger kids, and Percy, Bill, and Charlie didn't need to go with them to look for the door key because they could Apparate.
Mr. Weasley was wearing a golf shirt and a pair of old jeans today, looking like a Muggle. "It's more convenient to walk in the Muggle world like this. We have to walk for a while."
"Walking?" Harry asked. "Are we walking to the World Cup?"
"No, no, no, that's too far." Mr. Weasley laughed. "We only have to go a short distance. Gathering a large number of wizards together without attracting the attention of Muggles is not an easy task."
As we set off, a faint golden-red hue appeared on the horizon, indicating that dawn was approaching.
They were going to a place called Ferret Hill, which was the closest portkey to the Weasleys' home.
When everyone climbed to the top of the mountain to look for the door key, two tall and thin figures appeared on the other side. "Here, Arthur! Come here, we found it."
"Amos." Mr. Weasley smiled and strode towards the man. Everyone followed him.
Mr. Weasley shook hands with a man with a brown beard and a red face, who held a moldy old boot in his other hand.
"Let me introduce you all. This is Amos Diggory," said Mr. Weasley. "He works at the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. This is his son Cedric. I trust you all know him, don't you?"
"Hi, everyone." Cedric looked at everyone with a smile.
Harry didn't expect to see Diggory here, but he greeted him anyway.
Su Xingchen also panted and replied to Cedric, saying that climbing mountains was tiring and exercise was not her strong point. Hermione next to her was in the same boat, about the same, anyway, they were good friends.
"Arthur, are these all your children?" Amos Diggory looked kindly at Fred, George, Ron, Harry, Ginny, Hermione and Su Xingchen around him.
"No, the red-haired ones are." Mr. Weasley pointed out his children one by one. "This is Hermione and Star-Terrier, Ron's friends. This is Harry, also Ron's friend."
"Good heavens." Amos Diggory's eyes suddenly widened. "Harry? Harry Potter?"
"Yes, sir," Harry said. He was used to people staring at him curiously when they first met him, even if it still made him uncomfortable.
"Ced talked about you," said Amos Diggory. "He told me about your match last year, and I said to him—Ced, when you're old you can tell your grandchildren about it. It was a great thing you beat Harry Potter."
Harry didn't know how to respond so he said nothing and the twins frowned.
Cedric looked a little embarrassed, "Dad, I told you, it was an accident. He fell off the broom."
"Yeah, but you didn't fall, did you?" Amos Diggory patted his son on the back affectionately. "Our Ced is always so modest and gentlemanly... but the winner is always the best. I bet Harry Potter would think so too, wouldn't he?"
Well, Su Xingchen understood. Cedric's father had no ill intentions. He was truly proud of his son and had a sense of pride that disregarded the lives of others.
But of course she was on Harry's side, and she couldn't bear to see him depressed because of an inexplicably proud father.
"Should we go?" she asked quietly.
"Yes, it's about time," said Mr. Weasley quickly.
As all ten of them were carrying bulging knapsacks, it took some effort for them to gather round the old boot which Amos Diggory held.
"All you have to do is touch the portkey, like this, and extend one finger." Mr. Weasley demonstrated to Harry, Hermione and Su Xingchen.
Everyone stood there, forming a tight circle, as a cool breeze blew across the top of the mountain.
Harry suddenly thought how strange it would be for a Muggle passing by and seeing this. Ten people, two of them adults, clutching a tattered old boot and waiting quietly...
"Three..." Mr. Weasley stared at his pocket watch and murmured, "Two, one!"
In the blink of an eye, Harry felt a hook suddenly hook forward with unstoppable momentum, and his feet left the ground and flew up.
He could feel Hermione and Ron on either side, their shoulders bumping into each other, and they were rushed forward like a gust of wind, and nothing could be seen clearly.
The old boots pulled him forward, forward, like suction, and then... his feet landed hard on the ground, and Ron stumbled into him, and everyone fell down.
The door key clattered to the side.
Harry looked up. The only people standing there were Mr. Weasley, Mr. Diggory, Cedric, and Star, but she was standing very crookedly, and Cedric was holding her wrist.
Su Xingchen knew the outcome early on. Since there was a decent way, why would she go and throw herself into the mud? So she secretly grabbed the hem of Cedric's coat while Mr. Weasley was counting down. She couldn't grab Mr. Weasley or Mr. Diggory.
Unfortunately, the strong wind from the door key caused the hem of her clothes to slip out of her hand. Just when she thought she could not escape the fate of falling, a pair of big hands firmly grasped her wrists to stabilize her body.
It's Cedric.
"Thank you." Su Xingchen said in a low voice.
"You're welcome." Cedric released his hand, took two steps forward, pulled Harry up, and whispered, "Don't mind what my father said, he's always like this."
Harry nodded slightly.
Su Xingchen looked around. It was a desolate, foggy place like a swamp.
She saw Hermione's hair was blown into a mess by the strong wind, and the others were not much better off. She reached out and touched her own bun. Although it was a little messy, the shape was still there.
She is such a clever little girl.
