Traveling through thousands of years, I only love you

Li Lingyuan and Xiao Yi decided to participate in a volunteer activity to bring warmth and care to the elderly and widowed people in the community.

They got up early and prepared gifts for the elderly. Li Lingyuan hummed a little tune while sorting things, feeling particularly happy. Xiao Yi looked at her busy figure and said with a smile, "Look at you, you are as excited as a child." Li Lingyuan rolled her eyes at him and said coquettishly, "Of course I am happy to be able to do something for the elderly."

Arriving at the community service center, they met up with other volunteers. The person in charge briefly explained the situation, and everyone split up into groups. Li Lingyuan and Xiao Yi were assigned to the same group, visiting an elderly woman who lived alone.

After knocking on the old lady's door, she immediately smiled kindly when she saw them. Li Lingyuan quickly walked over, shook the old lady's hand, and said affectionately, "Grandma, we're here to see you!" Xiao Yi placed the fruits and nutritional supplements in his hand on the table.

They chatted with the old lady, listening to her stories of the past. Li Lingyuan listened intently, occasionally exclaiming in amazement and emotion. Xiao Yi quietly poured tea and peeled fruit for the old lady.

After chatting for a while, Li Lingyuan noticed that the old lady's hair was a little messy, so he said, "Grandma, let me help you comb your hair." The old lady nodded happily. Li Lingyuan gently combed the old lady's hair, his movements very careful. Xiao Yi watched from the side, his eyes full of tenderness and love.

At noon, Li Lingyuan and Xiao Yi decided to prepare a hearty lunch for the elderly woman. They entered the kitchen and began to bustle about. Li Lingyuan expertly washed and cut vegetables, while Xiao Yi, wearing an apron and holding a spatula, was in charge of cooking. He looked incredibly serious.

After the meal was ready, they brought it to the table and invited the old lady to eat with them. The old lady took a bite and praised it highly: "Children, your cooking skills are really good!" Li Lingyuan smiled and said: "Grandma, if you like it, please eat more."

After dinner, they helped the old lady clean the room and made it spotless.

When they left the old lady's house, she held their hands and was so moved that tears welled up in her eyes: "Thank you, children. Today is the happiest day of my life." Li Lingyuan hugged the old lady and said, "Grandma, we will come to visit you often in the future."

After leaving the community, Li Lingyuan and Xiao Yi walked on their way home. Li Lingyuan took Xiao Yi's arm and said with emotion: "Xiao Yi, although I am a little tired today, I feel very fulfilled and happy." Xiao Yi smiled and said: "Yes, seeing the happy smiles of the elderly makes everything worth it."

After returning home, Li Lingyuan collapsed on the sofa. "Oh, I'm almost exhausted." Xiao Yi walked over to her and gently massaged her shoulders. "Thank you for your hard work, my baby." Li Lingyuan closed her eyes, enjoying Xiao Yi's attentive service, and muttered, "Well, it feels so good."

After a while, Li Lingyuan suddenly opened his eyes, looked at Xiao Yi and said, "Xiao Yi, I suddenly had an idea. How about we go volunteer once a month in the future?" Xiao Yi nodded and said, "Okay, as long as you are willing, I will accompany you."

At night, Li Lingyuan leaned on Xiao Yi's arms and watched a movie together. As they watched, Li Lingyuan fell asleep unconsciously. Xiao Yi gently carried her into the bedroom, covered her with a quilt, kissed her on the forehead, then gently turned off the light and walked out of the room.

The next day, sunlight shone into the room through the gap in the curtains. Li Lingyuan stretched and woke up to find Xiao Yi already in the kitchen preparing breakfast. She walked to the kitchen door, leaned against the door frame, and smiled as she watched Xiao Yi's busy back. Xiao Yi turned around, saw her, and said with a smile: "Little lazy, go wash up quickly, breakfast will be ready soon."

After breakfast, they decided to go for a walk in the park. The park was shaded by green trees and filled with the fragrance of flowers. Li Lingyuan held Xiao Yi's hand and skipped along. Suddenly, she saw a couple taking pictures in front of her and said to Xiao Yi, "Xiao Yi, let's take a few pictures too." Xiao Yi happily agreed, took out his phone, and took many sweet photos with Li Lingyuan.

In the afternoon, they went to the bookstore together to read. Li Lingyuan wandered through the shelves, found a novel he liked, and sat in a corner to read it intently. Xiao Yi, on the other hand, picked out a history book and immersed himself in it.

Unconsciously, the day passed. At night, they sat on the balcony, looking at the starry sky. Li Lingyuan leaned on Xiao Yi's shoulder and whispered, "Xiao Yi, every day with you is like a beautiful dream." Xiao Yi held her hand and said, "As long as you are by my side, this dream will never wake up."
