Rise of the Otherworld.

Chapter 779 Mysterious Visitor

The figure stopped outside the house, seemingly listening. After a moment, he slowly spoke, "Friends inside, come out. I mean no harm."

Zhang Hao and the others looked at each other, unsure whether they should trust this mysterious man. The atmosphere in the room was extremely tense, and everyone breathed cautiously.

"What should we do?" the woman asked in a low voice, her eyes filled with hesitation. She gripped her magic wand tightly, her knuckles turning white from the force.

Zhang Hao pondered for a moment, gritted his teeth and said, "It's better to go out and take a look than to hide here all the time." His eyes were firm, as if he was ready to face everything.

Everyone slowly opened the door and looked warily at the figure before them. Moonlight shone on the man, outlining his slender outline.

By the moonlight, they finally made out the visitor's face. It was a weathered, middle-aged man, his eyes deep and calm, as if he had experienced countless hardships. The wrinkles on his face, like the marks of time, spoke of the vicissitudes of life. He exuded an indescribable aura, combining the carefreeness of a man of the world with the profoundness of a scholar.

"Don't be nervous, I'm just a passerby." The man said with a smile, his voice gentle and magnetic, as if it had a reassuring power.

Zhang Hao frowned, "Why did you find this place?" His eyes were full of suspicion, and he still didn't put down the sword in his hand.

The man sighed softly, "The chaos in this town has been going on for a long time. I have been observing secretly. I saw what happened to you tonight, so I followed you." His eyes were so honest that it was difficult for people to have more doubts.

The old man stepped forward and asked, "Do you know the reason behind this?" His voice was filled with anxiety, eager to get an answer from the man.

The man nodded. "This town seems peaceful, but in fact, there are several forces fighting behind it. That rich young man is just a pawn of one of them." His tone was heavy, as if the fight behind it was full of blood and conspiracy.

"Then why are these forces fighting?" the herbalist couldn't help but ask. His eyes were wide, filled with curiosity and fear.

The man glanced at him and said, "To compete for a treasure buried under the town." His voice was particularly clear in the silent night.

Everyone was shocked and looked at each other, unable to believe the answer.

"This treasure is said to possess great power, and many parties want to claim it for themselves," the man continued. His eyes became somewhat complicated, as if he had his own opinion about the treasure.

Zhang Hao thought for a moment, "What does that have to do with us? We are just passing by here." His voice was filled with helplessness and anger. They didn't want to get involved in this unnecessary dispute.

The man smiled and said, "But you are already involved in this. It may not be easy to get out of it unscathed." There was a hint of bitterness in his smile, as if he had already seen through the helplessness of this world.

"Then can you help us?" The woman's eyes were filled with a glimmer of hope. Her eyes were filled with a desire to survive, hoping to find a glimmer of hope from this mysterious man.

The man was silent for a moment. "I can show you a way out, but whether you can escape depends on your own luck." His voice became serious, making people feel the seriousness of the matter.

With that, the man led them out of the abandoned house and through the alley. The alley was narrow and dark, the moss on the walls shimmering eerily in the moonlight. Their footsteps echoed in the silent alley, like a countdown to fate.

As they walked, they came to a secluded corner.

"Go straight ahead from here, there's a secret passage that leads out of town," the man said, his voice faint in the darkness.

After expressing their gratitude, Zhang Hao and others prepared to leave.

At this moment, a sound of footsteps was heard. The footsteps were neat and powerful, obviously those of well-trained people.

"Oh no, they are chasing us!" The man's face changed.

Zhang Hao clenched his sword, "Everyone, prepare for battle!"

The woman raised her magic wand, and magical light flickered in her hand.

The old man also gripped his staff tightly, his eyes revealing firm determination.

Although the herbalist was afraid, he mustered up his courage and stood behind the crowd.

The footsteps were getting closer and closer, and soon, a group of men in black appeared in front of them.

"Want to leave? Not that easy!" the leading man in black said coldly.

A fierce battle is about to begin...
