Chapter 772 Hope in the Cave
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and collapsed to the ground.
"Where the hell is this place? Can we get out?" the woman asked desperately. Her voice was tearful, her eyes filled with helplessness and confusion. Tears welled up in her eyes, and her once delicate face now looked incredibly haggard.
Zhang Hao was silent for a moment. "As long as we don't give up, there will be hope." He gazed resolutely into the depths of the cave, as if searching for a ray of light in the darkness. His clothes were tattered, and the wounds on his body still ached, but his spine remained straight, like an unshakable mountain.
The old man panted and said, "Everyone, take a break and recover your strength." His voice was weak but steady, giving everyone a sense of comfort. The old man leaned against the wall of the cave, breathing heavily, and the wrinkles on his face seemed to deepen.
The little girl clung to the old man, her body still trembling. Her eyes were filled with fear, and she sobbed softly, "Grandpa, I'm scared."
The herbalist looked depressed and kept muttering, "It's over now, we are all trapped here to death." His eyes were dull, as if he had lost all hope.
Zhang Hao stood up and began to survey the cave. A damp air filled the air, and the walls shimmered with strange lights, seemingly from some unknown mineral. These flickers of light added a touch of mystery to the cave.
"Everyone, look! There seem to be some strange symbols here," Zhang Hao said, pointing to the wall. His voice broke the silence in the cave, carrying a hint of excitement and anticipation.
Everyone gathered around, carefully examining the symbols. The woman frowned, "This seems to be some kind of ancient writing, but I can't understand it." Her eyes were focused, trying to find some clues from the symbols.
The old man thought for a moment: "Maybe this is the clue to leave here." He stretched out his hand, gently touched the symbols, and felt the texture on them.
Zhang Hao gently touched the symbols, sensing the secrets they might hold. Suddenly, he felt a faint force emanating from them. Like an electric current, it instantly spread throughout his body.
"This symbol seems to have magical powers," Zhang Hao said in surprise. A hint of surprise flashed in his eyes. Perhaps this was the key to their departure.
At this moment, a deep roar echoed through the cave, making people's hair stand on end. The sound seemed to come from an ancient giant beast, carrying endless anger and majesty.
"Oh no, it's dangerous again!" Zhang Hao clenched his sword. His body tensed, and he entered a fighting state.
Everyone looked around nervously, only to see a group of dark figures slowly approaching from the depths of the cave. These shadows were blurry in form, emitting an evil aura. Their figures loomed in the darkness, making them difficult to grasp.
The herbalist collapsed to the ground in fear: "What, what is this?" His voice trembled and he almost cried.
Zhang Hao shouted, "Don't be afraid, prepare for battle!" His voice was like a thunder, exploding in the cave.
The woman raised her magic wand again, ready to cast a spell. Her eyes were determined, she muttered something, and the light on the wand gradually grew stronger.
The old man held the little girl behind him, his eyes filled with determination. He held his staff tightly, ready to provide support at any time.
The shadow drew closer, and Zhang Hao rushed forward first. His sword flashed a ray of light in the darkness, and he engaged in a fierce battle with the shadow. Every swing of his sword was filled with determination and courage.
The woman's magic flickered, illuminating a corner of the cave. Her magic struck the shadows, slowing their movements slightly.
The old man also waved his staff, providing support. Rays of light shot out from the staff, pushing back some of the shadows.
With everyone's combined efforts, the shadows were gradually driven back. But they were all exhausted, and fresh wounds had been inflicted. Zhang Hao's arm was scratched by the shadow, and blood flowed. The woman's magic power was exhausted, and her face was pale. The old man's strength was almost exhausted, and he was panting.
"We must find a way to leave as soon as possible, otherwise there will be more dangers," Zhang Hao said. His voice was a little tired, but still firm.
Just when they felt desperate, the little girl suddenly said, "I seem to see light over there."
Everyone looked in the direction the little girl pointed, and indeed, they saw a faint light. The light was like a star in the dark night, though weak, it brought them infinite hope.
"Maybe that's the exit!" Zhang Hao said.
They mustered their last bit of strength and walked towards the ray of light...
