Rise of the Otherworld.

Chapter 763: Unknown Fear (4)

Zhang Hao slowly stood up and said, "Let's go and take a look." He gripped his sword tightly and headed towards the direction of the sound. Everyone followed him, moving nervously towards the unknown danger.

The path narrowed deeper into the cave, and the air was thick with damp vapor, making it difficult to breathe. The strange sound continued intermittently, as if luring them deeper. The ground beneath their feet was slippery and uneven, and occasionally drops of water dripped from the stalactites above, making a crisp sound in the silence.

Zhang Hao walked in front, carefully observing his surroundings. Faint light filtered through the cracks in the rocks overhead, illuminating the rugged path beneath their feet. His eyes were focused and alert, and he took every step with extreme caution, fearing he might trigger some unknown mechanism.

The woman followed Zhang Hao closely, her magic wand ready to unleash her magic at any moment. Her heartbeat was especially clear in the silent cave, and her breathing became rapid. Her eyes constantly searched the darkness, her nerves tense to the extreme.

The old man held the little girl close and whispered, "Don't be afraid, child." His voice was gentle, but it couldn't hide his inner nervousness. The little girl nodded sensibly, but the fear in her eyes was still hard to hide, and her small hands tightly grasped the corner of the old man's clothes.

The herbalist walked tremblingly, muttering to himself, "What the hell is this place? I shouldn't have come here." His legs were weak and he was almost being dragged forward.

Suddenly, a huge cave appeared in front of him, and the sound came from inside. Zhang Hao stopped and looked at the cave warily. A cold wind blew out of the cave, carrying a gloomy atmosphere.

"Everyone, be careful," he whispered. His voice echoed in the cave entrance, adding to the tense atmosphere.

As they slowly approached the cave, they saw a strange light flickering inside. It flickered, sometimes brighter and sometimes darker, like the eyes of a ghost. Before they could see clearly, a powerful force suddenly sucked them in.

When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves in an unfamiliar place. Strange runes and statues filled the surroundings. The runes glowed with mysterious light, as if telling ancient secrets. The statues varied in form, some humanoid, others beastly, all lifelike, yet exuding an eerie aura.

"Where is this?" the woman asked in fear. Her voice trembled as she unconsciously moved closer to Zhang Hao.

Zhang Hao frowned and carefully observed his surroundings. "I don't know, but it looks like there's a huge secret hidden here." His eyes wandered between the runes and the statues, trying to find some clues.

At this moment, the statues suddenly moved and rushed towards them. Their movements were stiff but swift, with a fierce momentum.

Zhang Hao quickly swung his sword to resist, "Quick, find a way to deal with it!" His voice was full of urgency and tension.

Everyone unleashed their respective abilities, engaging in a fierce battle with the statues. However, these statues were incredibly sturdy, and ordinary attacks had little effect on them. The woman's magical light struck the statues, leaving only a faint mark. The magic power released by the old man's staff also fell on deaf ears, having little effect.

The little girl discovered the statue's weakness in the chaos. "Attack their eyes!" Her voice was clear and loud, and it was particularly clear in the noisy battle.

Following the little girl's instructions, everyone focused their attacks on the statues' eyes. As expected, the statues' movements gradually slowed. Zhang Hao's sword accurately pierced the eye of one statue, and it instantly stopped moving, turning into a pile of rubble.

After a hard fight, they finally defeated all the statues. However, before they could breathe a sigh of relief, the ground began to shake violently.

"Oh no, something's happening again!" Zhang Hao shouted. His voice was barely audible over the vibrations.

A gigantic figure slowly emerged from the darkness. It was as tall as a mountain and exuded a terrifying aura. Its body was shrouded in a dark mist, making it impossible to see its true appearance.

"What kind of monster is this?" The herbalist collapsed to the ground in fear.

Zhang Hao gripped his sword tightly. "No matter what, we can't retreat!" His eyes were firm, ready to face the new challenge...
