Chapter 758 The Test of the Mysterious Space (2)
Everyone took a deep breath, ready to face the new challenge. The light in this mysterious space flickered, like the blinking of an eerie eye, leaving people feeling increasingly uneasy. The air was filled with an old, mysterious aura, as if telling a long-lost secret.
Zhang Hao took a cautious step forward, and the ground suddenly trembled slightly. His foot seemed to have triggered some mechanism, and every tremor conveyed an unknown danger.
"Be careful!" the old man shouted hurriedly. His voice was filled with anxiety and worry, instantly breaking the silence in the room.
From all directions, a group of ghostly shadows surged in, their fangs bared, claws swaying, and swiftly pounced on the crowd, bringing with them gusts of cold wind. The shadows were indistinct, like the embodiment of darkness, with only pairs of gleaming red eyes standing out.
Zhang Hao, unflinching, swung his sword to meet the enemy. His swordsmanship was fierce, each strike imbued with resolve, the blade gleaming coldly in the light. Each swing unleashed a gust of wind, pushing back the approaching shadows. Veins bulged on his forehead, his eyes filled with determination and fearlessness.
The woman cast her magic once more, and light blossomed from her hands, illuminating the surrounding darkness. Like the dawn's light, it partially dispelled the shadows. The power of the magic rippled through the air, forming brilliant streaks of light. The shadows seemed to slow in the light, their forms distorting and warping.
Not to be outdone, the herbalists and the black-robed figures worked closely together in a desperate struggle against the shadows. The herbalists nimbly dodged the shadows' attacks, their herbal tools transformed into weapons, striking them repeatedly. The black-robed figures, with their agility, weaved through the shadows, delivering fatal blows.
The little girl stood beside the old man, observing the battle with a determined gaze. Her eyes were clear and focused, not missing a single detail.
"Grandpa, these shadows seem to have a weakness!" the little girl suddenly shouted. Her voice was clear and loud, and it was particularly eye-catching in the tense battle.
Upon hearing this, the old man observed carefully and said, "It seems that they are afraid of concentrated strong light." His eyes were deep as he quickly thought of a countermeasure.
Taking the hint, the woman focused her magic power and released a powerful beam of light, rushing straight towards the group of shadows. The light was like a brilliant meteor, streaking through the dark space.
Under the impact of the strong light, the shadows let out painful roars, the sound so sharp and piercing that it seemed to penetrate a person's soul. Their bodies gradually dissipated in the light, turning into wisps of black smoke.
Just as everyone breathed a sigh of relief, the ground began to shake violently again, and cracks appeared on the surrounding walls. Those cracks quickly spread, covering the entire space like a spider web.
"Oh no! This place is going to collapse!" the herbalist exclaimed. His voice was filled with fear and panic, and beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
"Hurry and find an exit!" Zhang Hao shouted. His voice remained firm and powerful despite the shaking, bringing a glimmer of hope to everyone.
Everyone was searching around in the chaos, and the little girl suddenly pointed to a corner and said, "There seems to be a passage there!" Her voice was full of hope and eagerness.
Everyone ran in the direction the little girl pointed, rocks falling continuously behind them. Each rock hit with tremendous force, raising clouds of dust.
Just as they were about to enter the passage, a huge rock hit the old man.
"Grandpa!" the little girl screamed. Her voice was filled with fear and helplessness, tears welling up in her eyes.
The man in black robe rushed over in an instant, pushed the old man away, but was pinned down by the rocks.
"Hurry into the passage!" the black-robed man shouted with difficulty. His voice was distorted by pain, but still full of determination.
Everyone suppressed their grief and entered the passage. A mysterious atmosphere permeated the passage, making people feel inexplicably oppressive. Faint lights flickered on the walls, as if guiding them forward.
"We can't abandon him!" the woman said, her voice firm and her eyes revealing reluctance.
"Find a way out first, then come back to save him!" Zhang Hao gritted his teeth and said. His heart was also filled with pain and helplessness, but at this moment he had to remain calm.
The group continued onward, unsure of what dangers awaited them. The passage twisted and turned, seemingly endless. With every step, they felt an invisible pressure.
Suddenly, a cold wind blew from the front, carrying a strange sound with it.
"What's that sound?" the herbalist asked tremblingly.
"No matter what it is, we have to get through it!" Zhang Hao clenched the sword in his hand and continued to move forward...
