Rise of the Otherworld.

Chapter 706 The hidden truth

The violent tremors coming from deep within the tunnel rekindled everyone's recently relaxed nerves. The entire tunnel seemed to roar in anger, rocks continuously falling from overhead, raising clouds of dust.

Zhang Hao looked around warily. "What's going on?" His voice was a little muffled amid the clatter of vibrations and falling rocks, but the tension and unease in it were palpable. He gripped his sword tightly, his knuckles turning white from the strain.

The woman looked at the little girl and the monster, full of confusion, "Little girl, what is going on?" Her eyes were full of anxiety and confusion, and her beautiful face was covered with dust, making her look a little embarrassed.

A hint of hesitation flashed across the little girl's eyes. She bit her lip, as if debating whether to tell the truth. "Actually... this monster has always lived here, guarding a secret." Her voice was small and trembling.

The old man frowned, "What secret?" He took a step forward, staring at the little girl. The staff in his hand trembled slightly, emitting a faint light.

The herbalist got up from the ground and dusted himself off. "What does that have to do with this monster?" There was confusion and a hint of dissatisfaction on his face. He felt that all this was too complicated and dangerous.

The little girl took a deep breath, as if she had made up her mind. "This ruin contains a treasure that can change the world, but it is also protected by a powerful restriction. The monster is one of the guardians of the restriction. It originally attacked us because it thought we were bad people who coveted the treasure."

The man in black robe snorted coldly, "What should we do now?" His voice was cold and impatient, and his eyes moved back and forth between the little girl and the monster, full of suspicion and vigilance.

The little girl comforted the monster, gently stroking its hard scales, "As long as we show that we have no ill intentions, it will help us." The monster seemed to understand what the little girl said, the fierce light in its eyes gradually subsided, and it nodded meekly.

At this moment, the tremors intensified, and the surrounding stone walls began to crumble. Huge chunks of rock fell from overhead, making a deafening noise.

"Oh no! This place is going to collapse!" Zhang Hao shouted, his voice filled with fear, and he quickly pulled the woman beside him to avoid the falling rocks.

Everyone panicked and ran around, trying to find a safe corner.

The herbalist was hit on the shoulder by a stone, and he grimaced in pain, "Ouch, what shall I do?"

The woman was also terrified, "Will we be buried here?"

The little girl quickly said, "Come with me, the monster knows a safe way." Although her voice was childish, it was full of determination.

Everyone had no choice but to follow the little girl and the monster as they ran through the swaying passage. Their footsteps were hurried and chaotic in the chaos, and their heartbeats seemed to merge with the rhythm of the vibrations.

There were rocks falling along the way, making it extremely dangerous. A huge rock was thrown towards the old man, but at the critical moment, the man in black robe used his magic power to shatter the rock.

"Thank you!" The old man looked at the man in black robe with gratitude.

Finally, they arrived at a relatively safe cave, which was filled with a damp smell and had strange lights flickering on the walls.

"Huh... finally safe for now," the woman gasped. She slowly sat down against the wall, breathing heavily.

The old man looked around and said, "But this is not a long-term solution." His brows were furrowed and he was worried.

The little girl looked at the monster and asked, "Can you take us to find the treasure?" Her eyes were full of anticipation.

The monster let out a low roar, as if in response, then turned and walked deeper into the cave.

Everyone looked at each other and followed.

The cave was filled with a mysterious atmosphere, and the road was bumpy and uneven, sometimes narrow, sometimes wide. As we walked, a huge stone door appeared in front of us.

"Is this where the treasure is hidden?" the herbalist asked curiously.

Just as everyone was about to push open the stone door, a powerful force surged out from inside...
