Rise of the Otherworld.

Chapter 678 Life and Death (1)

The atmosphere in the room grew increasingly dignified. Every trembling of the walls and the sound of falling objects overhead sounded like the approaching footsteps of death. The air was thick with dust, making breathing difficult. Zhang Hao endured the excruciating pain in his shoulder, beads of sweat rolling down his forehead. His gaze was determined, scanning the surroundings for a possible way out. His eyes burned with a desire to survive, as if it could penetrate the thicket of his predicament.

The woman's tears couldn't stop flowing, her body kept shaking with fear, and her voice trembled with despair: "Can we really get out alive?" Her eyes were full of helplessness and confusion, as if she had seen the end of her life.

The herbalist squatted in the corner, holding his head in his hands, and kept muttering: "It's over, it's over, it's really over this time." His voice was full of fear and despair, and he fell into deep panic.

The old man forced himself to remain calm. His face was pale, but he still tried to stay calm and comforted everyone: "Don't panic, there will always be a way." But his own eyes also revealed deep worry, which was the worry about an unknown fate.

The man in the black robe carefully observed the structure of the room, his eyes focused and sharp, not missing a single detail. Suddenly, he said, "This side of the room seems relatively solid. Perhaps we can dig a passage out from there." His voice was a little tired, but it held a glimmer of hope.

When everyone heard this, it was as if they saw a ray of light in the darkness.

"Then hurry up!" Zhang Hao gritted his teeth and stood up. His wound was bleeding again due to the violent movement, but he ignored it.

They grabbed whatever tools they could and began digging. Every stroke sent plumes of dust and rubble tumbling down, but they didn't flinch. Their hands were cut by the rough stones, their blood staining the tools and the dirt, but they didn't stop.

As they dug, the cracks in the room grew larger and larger, and a huge stone dangled from the ceiling, precariously falling like a sword of Damocles hanging overhead, poised to fall at any moment.

"Be careful!" Zhang Hao shouted a warning. His voice echoed in the small space, filled with tension and urgency.

Everyone quickly moved out of the way as the rock crashed down, stirring up a cloud of dust. Visibility dropped instantly in the cloud, making it nearly impossible to see what was happening around them.

"Don't stop, speed up!" the old man shouted. His voice was a little hoarse from fatigue, but full of determination.

Their hands were bloody, their nails cracked, and the pain was agonizing, but they kept digging, each swing of their tools filled with endless determination and courage.

Finally, a small passageway appeared. Although the passageway was narrow, it seemed like a door to hope for life.

"Quick, get out one by one!" Zhang Hao commanded. His voice was firm and powerful, giving everyone a sense of security.

The woman was the first to crawl out. Although her movements were a bit clumsy, she was full of desire to survive.

Next came the herbalist and the old man.

Just as the black-robed man was about to leave, a larger rock crashed down, blocking the entrance. At that moment, time seemed to freeze, and everyone's heart was in their throat.

"The man in the black robe!" Zhang Hao shouted, his voice filled with anxiety and worry.

"Leave me alone, just go!" The black-robed man's voice came from behind the stone. There was a hint of determination in his voice, as if he was ready to sacrifice himself.

How could Zhang Hao abandon his companions? A flicker of determination flashed in his eyes. He used all his strength to push the stone away, but it wouldn't budge. The wound on his shoulder burst from the force, and blood stained his clothes.

At this moment, the sound of the ruins collapsing became louder and louder, as if the end of the world was approaching. The surrounding walls continued to collapse and the ground began to sink.

"Zhang Hao, go away quickly and don't worry about me!" The voice of the man in black robe came again.

"No, I won't give up on you!" Zhang Hao responded loudly. His eyes were full of determination. He knew that he couldn't abandon his companions.

At this moment, the woman and the herbalist outside also began to help, trying to push the stone away together.

"One, two, three, push!" Zhang Hao shouted.

With everyone working together, the stone finally loosened a little.

"Try harder!" the old man also shouted from the side.

Finally, the stone was pushed away and the man in black robes crawled out of the passage.

Without even a moment to breathe, everyone quickly fled the ruins that were about to collapse completely...
