Chapter 575: Crisis 4 (3)
Everyone's heart leaped into their throats at the sound of that deep roar. The black-robed figure motioned for silence, listening intently for the source of the sound. The surrounding darkness seemed frozen, the only audible sound being the tense breathing of the crowd.
"This sound seems to be coming from deeper within," the black-robed man said in a low voice. His expression was particularly solemn under the faint light of the spell, and a hint of uneasiness appeared in his eyes.
The old man gripped his staff tightly, his expression tense. "No matter what it is, we must be careful." Although his voice was steady, his slightly trembling hands revealed his inner fear.
The herbalist swallowed and said, "Why don't we find a way to save Zhang Hao first." There was obvious timidity in his voice, and his legs began to tremble unconsciously.
"No, if this monster is related to that mysterious power, we must find out," the black-robed man said decisively. His eyes were firm, as if he was ready to face any danger.
So, they cautiously walked towards the direction of the sound. The darkness in the cave grew thicker, as if it was swallowing them up. The ground beneath their feet also became uneven and bumpy, and they could fall if they weren't careful.
As they walked, they found a huge cave in front of them, with a strange light flickering inside. The light was sometimes bright and sometimes dim, revealing a creepy atmosphere.
"What is this place?" the herbalist asked in a trembling voice, his eyes wide open, filled with fear and confusion.
Before anyone could reply, a giant claw stretched out from the cave and clawed at them. The claw was extremely sharp, gleaming coldly in the light.
The black-robed man quickly cast a spell, and a beam of light hit the claw, causing it to retract. A loud "bang" echoed in the cave, making everyone's ears buzz.
"Everyone, be careful!" the old man shouted, his voice becoming a little sharp with nervousness.
They stared warily at the cave entrance when they saw a gigantic monster slowly emerge. It had a ferocious appearance, its body covered in hard scales, each one gleaming with an eerie light. Its eyes were like flaming balls of fire, emitting an evil aura.
The monster opened its bloody mouth and spewed out a stream of black flames. The flames instantly swept over, carrying a scorching heat.
Everyone dodged as the flames burned the nearby stone wall, making a sizzling sound. The stone wall was burned red and stones fell one after another.
"Let's go together!" the black-robed man shouted, rushing forward first. He waved his hands, and the magic light shot towards the monster like a meteor.
The old man waved his staff and cast a powerful spell, sending rays of light towards the monster. The rays collided with the monster's scales, emitting dazzling sparks.
The herbalist mustered up his courage, took out some herbs from his bag, and threw them at the monster. The herbs turned into green smoke in the air, trying to distract the monster's sight.
Enraged by their attack, the monster pounced on them even more frantically, waving its claws and stirring up a gust of wind.
In the fierce battle, the black-robed man was accidentally hit by the monster and fell to the ground. He groaned, and a trace of blood flowed from the corner of his mouth.
"Black-robed man!" the old man exclaimed. He tried to help the black-robed man, but was blocked by the monster's attack.
The herbalist quickly ran over and helped the man in black robe up, "Are you okay?" His face was full of concern.
"I can still hold on. Keep fighting!" the black-robed man said through gritted teeth. He endured the pain and stood up again, ready to fight.
At this moment, a flaw appeared behind the monster.
The old man shouted, "Attack its back!"
Everyone concentrated their strength and attacked the monster's back. The power of light, magic, and herbs combined to form a powerful impact.
The monster screamed and fell to the ground. Its body twitched a few times before it stopped moving.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and sat down on the ground exhausted.
"Finally solved." The herbalist said panting.
However, before they could rest for a moment, an even more violent tremor was heard from deep within the cave...
