Rise of the Otherworld.

Chapter 568 The Ghost's Cry

The white figure slowly turned around, revealing a pale face with eyes full of sorrow and pain. Her long hair fell like a waterfall, looking particularly sad and beautiful in the dim room.

"Save me..." Her voice was weak and trembling, as if coming from far away, filled with endless desolation and despair. The voice echoed in the empty room, making people feel pity.

Everyone was shocked, and the herbalist took a few steps back in fear. His face turned pale, his legs trembled, and he almost collapsed to the ground.

Zhang Hao pretended to be calm, gripped the sword tightly in his hand, and asked, "Who are you? Why are you here?" His eyes were fixed on the woman in front of him, not daring to relax at all.

The woman sobbed and said, "I was the daughter of the owner of this castle, but was cursed by an evil wizard. My soul is trapped here and cannot be reincarnated." Her tears rolled down like beads with broken strings and dripped onto the cold ground.

The old man frowned, stroked his beard, and said, "Are all the strange things in this castle related to this curse?" His eyes were full of confusion and thought.

The woman nodded and said with a sob, "The wizard attacked my family in order to seize the treasure of the castle. These dark shadows are all caused by his evil spell." Her body trembled slightly, as if she recalled the terrible scene.

The man in black robe stepped forward and said anxiously, "Is there any way to break it?" There was a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

The woman looked at them, her eyes revealing a hint of hope: "If we can find the magic crystal in the castle basement, perhaps we can lift the curse."

Everyone looked at each other, hesitant and worried. But Zhang Hao's eyes were firm. He said, "In that case, let's go find the crystal." His voice was decisive and resolute, giving everyone a little courage.

Under the woman's guidance, they carefully walked through each room. The room was filled with the smell of decay, and the walls were hung with tattered portraits, as if telling of a past glory. From time to time, there were traps on the ground, or sharp arrows suddenly popped out, or the ground suddenly sank.

Finally reaching the basement entrance, a chilling aura gushed out, a breath that seemed to penetrate the bone marrow and send shivers down one's spine.

"It must be even more dangerous down here," the old man said, a hint of worry in his voice, his staff unconsciously tightening in his hand.

Zhang Hao took a deep breath, his eyes full of determination: "But in order to lift the curse, rescue this woman, and for us to leave this castle, we must go down." His words were loud and clear, igniting a fighting spirit in everyone's hearts.

They walked into the basement, which was dark and damp, with moss covering the walls. Water dripped from the ceiling, making a crisp sound. Faint light filtered through the cracks above, barely enough to see the road ahead.

Suddenly, a giant spider pounced out of the darkness, its body more than a man tall, its sharp claws flashing with cold light.

Zhang Hao quickly swung his sword to block, and the sword collided with the spider's claws, splashing sparks.

The man in black robe also cast a spell, and rays of light shot out from his hands and hit the spider's body.

The herbalist watched nervously from the side, looking for the spider's weakness.

The old man continued to cast buff spells for everyone, increasing their strength and defense.

After a fierce battle, the spider was finally defeated. Its body fell heavily to the ground, raising a cloud of dust.

As they continued forward, the path in the basement became narrower and more rugged.

Finally, deep in the basement, the magic crystal was found. The crystal emitted a mysterious light and was surrounded by a layer of light mist.

However, just as they were about to pick up the crystal, a dark figure appeared and stopped them.

"This crystal is mine! No one can take it away!" the shadow roared. His voice was low and hoarse, filled with evil and greed.

It turned out that the shadow was the evil wizard. His figure was shrouded in darkness, and his face could not be seen clearly, but the aura emanating from him made people feel fear and disgust.

A fierce showdown is about to begin...
