Rise of the Otherworld.
Chapter 517: Stubborn Resistance
"Prepare for battle!" Zhang Hao shouted, charging forward once more. His figure flashed like lightning, instantly approaching the two-headed monster. His eyes were firm and resolute, as if the thing before him wasn't a terrifying monster, but an obstacle that must be overcome.
The monster's two heads spewed fire and frost at Zhang Hao, the heat and cold intertwining to form an extremely dangerous force. The flames raged like a raging dragon, and the frost shot like sharp arrows. Zhang Hao dodged the fatal attack, but the flames still scorched a corner of his clothes, emitting a pungent burnt smell. His face showed no fear, only unwavering courage.
Seeing this, the old man raised his staff again, muttering something. A powerful shield spell enveloped everyone. The shield shone with a soft light, as if it were their last line of defense. "Everyone, be careful!" the old man shouted, his voice trembling with nervousness, but he held the staff steady.
The black-robed figure followed closely behind Zhang Hao, slashing at the monster's legs with his weapon. His movements were swift and powerful, each strike laced with the determination to kill. The monster roared in pain, then raised its massive paw and stomped down on the black-robed figure. The moment the foot landed, it whipped up a gust of wind, making it nearly impossible for the man to stand.
The herbalist anxiously searched for an opportunity, his eyes darting, his hands tightly gripped with the specially prepared medicinal powder. His heartbeat quickened, his breathing quickened. Seeing the monster's attention drawn to Zhang Hao and the black-robed figure, he seized the opportunity to rush forward and sprinkle the powder upon it.
Zhang Hao took advantage of the monster's momentary distraction and leaped up, stabbing his sword at its eyes. His body traced a graceful arc through the air, his sword gleaming coldly in the light. The monster jerked its head away, leaving only a shallow wound on its face. Blood oozed from the wound, only infuriating the monster even more.
The monster was completely enraged, and it attacked everyone frantically, emitting flames and frost. The entire passage was in chaos. The flames scorched the walls, and the frost froze the ground, making it difficult to stand.
"This isn't a solution!" Zhang Hao shouted. His voice was clearly audible amid the chaos, filled with determination and reflection.
While maintaining the shield spell, the old man said, "We must find its weakness!" His forehead was covered with sweat, and the consumption of mana made his face pale, but his eyes were still focused and calm.
Just then, the herbalist spotted a darker scale on the monster's belly. "Attack there!" he shouted, his voice filled with surprise and hope.
Zhang Hao and the black-robed man, following the herbalist's prompt, attacked the monster's belly without hesitation. They worked in perfect harmony, with Zhang Hao drawing the monster's attention while the black-robed man seized the opportunity to charge at its belly. The monster, sensing their intentions, defended itself desperately, its tail lashing in an attempt to prevent them from approaching.
After a fierce battle, Zhang Hao finally broke through the monster's defenses and pierced the scales on its abdomen with his sword. The monster let out a painful roar, the sound echoing in the passage, hurting the eardrums. It fell to the ground, struggling, its body twitching continuously.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, but before they could rest for a moment, a violent tremor erupted from the passage. Rocks fell from overhead, and cracks began to appear on the ground.
"Oh no! This maze might be about to collapse!" The old man's face changed drastically. His voice was filled with fear and anxiety.
"Hurry, find an exit!" Zhang Hao shouted, his voice decisive and urgent.
They ran desperately in the shaking passage, rocks constantly falling from their heads. Every step was fraught with danger, and every moment could be the end of their lives.
Suddenly, a bright light appeared ahead. "That might be the exit!" the herbalist shouted excitedly, his voice filled with hope and anticipation.
Everyone ran towards the light, and just as they were about to reach the exit, a huge rock fell from the sky, blocking their way. The rock was so huge, like a small mountain, it made people feel despair.
"We can't give up like this!" Zhang Hao said through gritted teeth. He chopped at the rocks with his sword, trying to clear a path.
The old man also cast a spell, trying to break the stone.
The black-robed men and the herbalists also joined in, using all their strength and skills.
With their joint efforts, a crack finally appeared in the stone...
