Chapter 516: Dangers Surround You (7)
The group attacked the spider once again, engaging it in a fierce battle. Zhang Hao's sword slashed across the spider's hard shell, sending up a string of dazzling sparks, but it failed to cause any substantial damage. The spider's shell was like an indestructible armor, easily withstanding Zhang Hao's fierce attacks. His forehead was covered with sweat, but his eyes were filled with an indomitable fighting spirit.
The old man's spells repeatedly struck the spider, a brilliant light blooming in the narrow passage. Each spell imbued with the old man's profound magical power, yet the spider merely trembled slightly, its tenacious vitality rendering the attacks ineffective. The old man's face grew paler, his body shaky from the immense drain of his magical power.
The black-robed man leaped onto the spider's back again, trying to find its weak spot. His movements were as nimble as a leopard, but he lost his balance amid the spider's violent thrashing. With a swift swing, the spider flung the black-robed man violently forward, his body slamming against the wall with a dull thud. A trickle of blood spilled from the corner of his mouth, staining his clothes red, but his gaze remained resolute.
"Brother Black Robe!" Zhang Hao was terrified, but he couldn't do anything else. The spider's attacks were getting more and more ferocious, leaving him overwhelmed. The spider's long legs were like sharp spears, stabbing Zhang Hao again and again. He could only dodge and fight back, each movement filled with danger.
The herbalist mustered his courage. He picked up scattered herbs and threw them at the spider's eyes. The herbs streaked through the air in green arcs. While this didn't do much damage to the spider, it did attract its attention, buying Zhang Hao and the others some time. His hands trembled, but he didn't stop. His fear was overcome by his desire to survive.
Zhang Hao took the opportunity to observe the spider's movements and discovered that each time it attacked, a section of the carapace on its abdomen would slightly expand. "Attack its abdomen!" he shouted, his voice echoing in the passage, carrying a last glimpse of hope.
Upon hearing this, everyone turned their attacks towards the spider's abdomen. The old man concentrated his magical power, unleashing a powerful beam of light, like a blazing sun, that struck the spider's abdomen directly. Zhang Hao then leaped up, his sword aimed at the spider's weak spot. His figure traced a graceful arc through the air, a resolute determination to fight to the death.
The spider, sensing a threat, struggled desperately. It unleashed a flood of silk, a white torrent that instantly filled the entire passage. Zhang Hao's sword was entangled in the silk. He struggled to free himself, only to find it tightening, as if he were trapped in an endless quagmire.
At this critical moment, the black-robed man, despite the pain, rushed over, cut the spider silk with his weapon, and rescued Zhang Hao. His arms were throbbing with the force, and his eyes were filled with concern for his companion.
"Thank you!" Zhang Hao looked at him gratefully and rushed towards the spider again.
After a grueling battle, they finally succeeded in striking the spider's weak spot in the abdomen. The spider screamed, a sound that seemed to pierce the soul and send chills down its spine. It fell to the ground, its body twitching a few times before it stopped moving. Silence fell instantly, leaving only the sound of heavy breathing.
"Finally solved!" The herbalist sat down on the ground, breathing heavily. His face was full of fatigue and relief at having survived the ordeal. Sweat soaked his hair and stuck to his forehead.
Everyone was exhausted, their bodies covered in wounds and blood. Their clothes were tattered, and every wound told of the cruelty of the battle.
"Let's rest for a while and then we'll keep going," Zhang Hao said. His voice was weak but firm.
However, before they could rest, a deep roar emanated from the maze. It was like a demon from the abyss, filled with endless rage and murderous intent. The sound waves echoed through the passage, shaking the dust off the walls.
"What...what is this?" The herbalist's voice trembled and was full of fear.
Zhang Hao frowned, "No matter what it is, we have to face it." He forced himself to stand up and gripped the sword tightly in his hand.
The old man gasped and said, "Everyone be careful, this sound might..." Before he could finish his words, a huge two-headed monster slowly emerged from the darkness. Its body was even larger than the spider before, and its two heads spewed out flames and frost respectively, which made people shudder.
"Prepare for battle!" Zhang Hao shouted and rushed forward again...
