The President's Tender Trap
Chapter 96 Calm Reflection
Late at night, the room was silent, the only sound echoing in her ears was the ticking of the clock. Su Wan sat on the edge of her bed, her mind still replaying the argument she had just had with Lu Ming. Her tears had long since dried, replaced by waves of heartache and confusion. At this moment, she was forced to confront her inner struggle, trying to sort out the complexities of her emotions.
"What on earth am I thinking?" Su Wan asked herself softly, her heart filled with doubt. She recalled every moment with Lu Ming, from their youthful acquaintance, to their later companionship, to their current arguments, and a pang of sadness welled up in her. She realized that behind the quarrel, there seemed to be a deeper issue.
"Why do I care so much about the details of my wedding?" She pondered this over and over again, and then realized that her desire for a wedding might not just be about the formality, but rather a desire to find a sense of recognition and love in this wedding. She hoped to prove her worth through a perfect wedding, hoping to gain the appreciation of those around her and thus make herself more confident in this relationship.
"But is this really reasonable?" Su Wan was confused, realizing that she had unknowingly put too much pressure on herself and Lu Ming. She wanted a happy wedding, but in the pursuit of perfection, she gradually lost her way.
"Is my love for Lu Ming strong enough?" the question loomed in her mind. She knew her uneasiness and anxiety were, to some extent, a reflection of her lack of trust in her relationship. She began to reflect on whether she hadn't given Lu Ming enough trust in her feelings, leading her to avoid and argue when faced with pressure.
"How can I let go of these anxieties?" Su Wan pondered, realizing that only through honest communication with Lu Ming could she untie the knot in her heart. She didn't want their relationship to become fragile because of an argument; instead, she hoped that this conflict would foster a deeper understanding and trust between them.
Meanwhile, Lu Ming was reflecting in his room. He sat on the sofa, clutching a wedding planning list, his mind replaying the previous argument. The sounds of the argument still echoed in his ears, and the mixture of guilt and helplessness in his heart weighed heavily on him.
"Have I really not done well enough?" Lu Ming muttered to himself, confusion and anxiety in his eyes. He began to wonder if he had overemphasized his family's expectations in this relationship and neglected Su Wan's feelings. He thought of Su Wan's anticipation for the wedding, her longing and passion so real, yet weighed down by his insistence.
"What do I really want?" He repeatedly asked himself, realizing that he also longed for a wedding that was theirs, but he was always worried about his family's opinions and the constraints of external expectations. This conflicting mentality prevented him from truly understanding and accepting Su Wan in their communication.
"I can't let this emotion affect our relationship." Lu Ming secretly made up his mind. He hoped to re-examine his relationship with Su Wan and find a balance so that the expectations of both parties could be met.
"Perhaps I should take the initiative to seek communication," he muttered to himself, realizing that only through sincere communication could they draw closer. In this wedding, they were both planners and supporters of each other. Only by facing it together could they usher in a bright future.
As the night deepened, Su Wan and Lu Ming gradually calmed down, reflecting on their own thoughts. Though their emotions remained volatile, their inner reflection made them realize that this dispute was not the end, but a new beginning. Mutual trust and understanding would become the cornerstone of their future relationship, and this conflict was undoubtedly an opportunity for their mutual growth.
"I must be honest with Lu Ming," Su Wan muttered to herself, deciding not to run away anymore. No matter how difficult the communication was, she hoped to find a solution that would bring their hearts closer again.
"I will try my best to understand Su Wan's thoughts." Lu Ming also made up his mind that he would never let this quarrel become an obstacle to their relationship.
Time passed slowly, and the first rays of morning sunlight shone through the curtains into the room. Su Wan opened her eyes, feeling a sense of freshness and hope. She took a deep breath and decided to put yesterday's quarrel behind her and embrace a fresh start.
"Today, I must talk to Lu Ming." Su Wan said to herself, sorted out her mood, walked out of the room, and prepared to greet the new day.
Lu Ming had already risen and was busy in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. He knew today was an important day; he needed to have a good talk with Su Wan and restore their trust. He prayed silently in his heart that this conversation would help rebuild their relationship.
"Good morning, Lu Ming." Su Wan said softly. Seeing his busy figure, she couldn't help but feel a little warm in her heart.
"Good morning, Awan." Lu Ming smiled slightly, trying to make his tone sound relaxed. He hoped that this would ease the tension between them.
"Today... can we have a good chat?" Su Wan mustered up her courage, her eyes revealing both anticipation and uneasiness.
"Of course." Lu Ming nodded, secretly relieved. He knew that today's conversation would be a major turning point in their relationship.
After breakfast, Su Wan and Lu Ming sat on the balcony, the sun shining down on them, warm and bright. Looking out the window at the green trees and flowers, Su Wan felt a long-lost sense of peace. She knew today was the time to re-evaluate their relationship.
"I want to talk about my feelings first." Su Wan said, her voice firm. "I know that the recent wedding preparations have put a lot of pressure on us, and I have lost my way in the process."
"Me too." Lu Ming replied softly, his eyes showing understanding and concern. "My expectations for the wedding were too focused on my family's opinions and I ignored your feelings."
Su Wan's heart was shaken, sensing Lu Ming's sincerity. "I hope we can find our own happiness in this wedding, rather than being troubled by outside expectations."
"I understand your thoughts." Lu Ming nodded seriously, his eyes filled with warmth. "I hope to plan this wedding with you and make it a memory we share."
"I hope so too." Su Wan's heart gradually relaxed, feeling Lu Ming's understanding and support. "We can discuss the details of the wedding together and find a plan that suits both of us."
"Yes, we can first list the expectations of both parties and then find a balance." Lu Ming's voice was full of confidence, and a beautiful fantasy about the future gradually emerged in his heart.
"This way, we can better understand each other's needs." Su Wan smiled, and the uneasiness in her heart gradually dissipated. "I hope we can become more united in this process."
"Me too." Lu Ming's eyes were firm, and a warm feeling welled up in his heart. He knew that only through such communication could they bring their hearts closer.
As their conversation deepened, Su Wan and Lu Ming gradually opened up. They discussed their expectations for the wedding and shared their deepest feelings. After their argument, they reflected calmly and realized that this wedding was not just a formality but the beginning of their life together.
"We can consider a small wedding, which can meet the needs of both parties without putting too much pressure on us." Su Wan suggested, with anticipation in her eyes.
"That sounds great." Lu Ming smiled slightly, his eyes showing approval. "We can invite our closest friends and family. This way, we can keep the wedding warm without making it too complicated."
