The President's Tender Trap
Chapter 82 Emotional Fluctuations
"Let me help you." Lu Ming walked over, bent down, and began to clean the egg mixture from the floor. His movements were gentle and skillful. Su Wan looked at him, but a trace of guilt emerged in her heart. She knew that she had been feeling down lately. She should have been enjoying this happy moment, but she was always troubled by the shadows of the past. \n\n During breakfast, Lu Ming tried to chat with Su Wan about some light topics. He talked about interesting things at work and shared little anecdotes between colleagues, hoping to cheer her up. However, Su Wan's reaction was always cold, and her smile seemed forced. Whenever he tentatively asked about her feelings, Su Wan always avoided the topic or perfunctorily replied with "It's nothing."
"Su Wan, you've been so absent-minded lately. Is something bothering you?" Lu Ming finally couldn't help but ask bluntly. His eyes were filled with concern, wanting to understand her emotions, but he didn't know how to approach them.
"I...I'm fine." Su Wan lowered her head, her fingers unconsciously kneading the napkin, but she was struggling in her heart. She wanted to tell Lu Ming, but she was afraid that her words would embarrass him.
Lu Ming sighed and began to feel helpless. He always preferred direct communication, but at this moment Su Wan was like a tightly closed flower. No matter how hard he tried, he could not open her heart.
"You know I care about you very much. If there is anything, you can always tell me." He spoke in a gentle tone, trying to make Su Wan feel his concern.
"I'm really fine, just a little busy." Su Wan's voice was weak, and she couldn't help but want to avoid going deeper into this conversation. Deep in her heart, an invisible pressure was surrounding her, making her feel extremely anxious.
After breakfast, Su Wan busied herself clearing the table, while Lu Ming observed her as he cleared the dishes. He noticed that Su Wan's eyes were constantly evasive, and her smiles were becoming less and less frequent. This change made him feel vaguely uneasy, and he began to wonder if he had done something wrong.
"I have a meeting this afternoon and will be back later." Lu Ming finally spoke, trying to ease the atmosphere with a relaxed tone.
"Okay, be careful." Su Wan nodded and watched Lu Ming leave, but she felt a sense of emptiness in her heart.
As time went by, Su Wan's mood continued to decline. While she tried to appear positive during the wedding preparations, a sense of unease crept in. She wanted to share this unease with Lu Ming, but she didn't know how to begin.
Over the next few days, Su Wan's mood swings became increasingly noticeable. She would often become silent for no apparent reason while discussing wedding details with Lu Ming, or express excessive anxiety over minor issues. Lu Ming noticed this, but he had no idea what to do, so he could only endure it silently.
"Su Wan, we still have a lot of things to prepare, such as wedding invitations. Do you have any ideas?" Lu Ming tried to guide her, wanting to bring them closer together through a common goal.
"I think the invitation can use a simple and large design, preferably one with light green elements." Su Wan responded, but her voice could not hide her fatigue.
"Good idea! I think this design will be very innovative." Lu Ming nodded, but he still felt uneasy about her low mood.
"We still need to confirm the music for the wedding and choose some songs you like." Lu Ming continued, hoping to ease Su Wan's emotions through such communication.
"Well, I'll think about it." Su Wan's answer was brief and cold, and she didn't seem to be very enthusiastic about the details of the wedding.
"Are you tired? If you need to rest, I can handle some things." Lu Ming asked with concern.
"It's okay, I'm just a little annoyed." Su Wan finally vented her dissatisfaction, but she felt that this was not appropriate and felt guilty.
"What are you worried about? If you want, you can tell me." Lu Ming's tone was gentle, as if he wanted to break the barrier.
"I...I just feel a little stressed about preparing for the wedding." Su Wan finally plucked up the courage and tried to express her feelings.
"That's normal. A wedding is a major event in life, so of course there will be pressure." Lu Ming nodded, understanding in his eyes. "But we're together. We can share any burdens. You don't have to bear it alone."
"I know, but sometimes I feel uneasy, especially when I think of you and Li Yan." Su Wan finally revealed her doubts, and a trace of confusion and struggle appeared on her face.
Lu Ming was stunned for a moment, feeling a sharp pain in his heart. He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself. Although he had already confessed his feelings to Su Wan, seeing her feeling uneasy because of his past was heartbreaking.
"Su Wan, I no longer have any feelings for Li Yan's past. Our story is over, and you are the most important person in my life." Lu Ming said seriously, with determination in his eyes.
"But I'm still worried..." Su Wan bit her lip, with an uneasy look in her eyes.
"I understand how you feel, but I hope you can believe me. You are my future partner, and I will use my life to prove my love for you." Lu Ming's voice was gentle and firm, trying to make Su Wan feel his sincerity.
Su Wan looked into Lu Ming's eyes, and her heart moved slightly. She knew that Lu Ming's love for her was deep and sincere, but the doubts in her heart were like a haze that could not be dispelled.
"I will try my best to believe in you, and I hope to overcome the uneasiness in my heart." Su Wan finally nodded, her heart filled with new hope for the future.
As time goes by, Su Wan gradually realizes that she needs more trust and communication. Although the shadow of the past still lingers in her heart, she is willing to try to understand and accept Lu Ming's love.
In the following days, Su Wan began to take the initiative to share her feelings with Lu Ming and discuss the details of the wedding. Lu Ming also paid more attention to her emotions and kept an eye on her changes.
"We can go together and choose some special music for the wedding." Lu Ming suggested, with anticipation glittering in his eyes.
"Okay, I also want to add some special elements to our wedding." Su Wan responded, and her vision of the future gradually emerged in her heart.
As the conversation progressed, Su's mood gradually improved. She began to enjoy the process of planning the wedding with Lu Ming, and her anticipation for the future grew stronger.
Lu Ming also felt a sense of relief in Su Wan's change. He knew that despite the emotional ups and downs between them, it was this kind of communication and understanding that made their relationship even deeper.
"No matter how tortuous the road ahead is, I will go hand in hand with you." Lu Ming said to himself, firmly believing in a bright future.
