The President's Tender Trap
Chapter 81 The Discovery of Old Photos
Su Wan placed the photo back in the box, her heart swirling with confusion. She recalled Lu Ming's earlier recollection of the past. Although he had said he no longer had feelings for Li Yan, the image in the photo made her doubt. Could it be that deep down, he still harbored a lingering affection for the past?
As her thoughts wandered, her fingers involuntarily stroked the edge of the photo, and a sense of loss flashed through her heart. She imagined the happiness Lu Ming and Li Yan had when they were together, and she couldn't help but feel a pang of pain in her heart. Was she really a replacement for the past in his heart? Such thoughts were like a thorn, deeply piercing her heart, making it difficult for her to breathe.
"Su Wan, what are you doing?" Lu Ming's voice interrupted her thoughts. Su Wan panicked and closed the box, turning around, trying to hide her inner turmoil. "I... I'm sorting your things." She forced a smile, but her heart was secretly uneasy.
"Oh, did you find anything interesting?" Lu Ming walked closer with a relaxed smile on his face, and seemed not to notice Su Wan's abnormality.
"Nothing special." Su Wan lowered her head, not daring to look him in the eye, but she was thinking in her heart how to deal with this sudden uneasiness.
"I still remember that time we traveled together and took a lot of photos." Lu Ming said with a smile, as if he wanted to share those beautiful memories.
"Yeah, I heard that trip was fun," Su Wan agreed casually, but her heart was restless. She felt a wave of bitterness creeping in her heart, remembering those happy moments, yet she was troubled by Li Yan's photo.
"If you need any help, just let me know," Lu Ming said gently, holding Su Wan's hand and offering her support and comfort. "Thank you, I will." Su Wan's voice was weak, but her heart was filled with complex emotions. She wanted to share her doubts and anxieties with Lu Ming, but she didn't know how to begin.
As time went by, Su Wan tried to calm herself down and continued to sort through Lu Ming's old things. However, the old photo with Li Yan could not be shaken off her mind, turning into an invisible rope that tightly bound her heart.
At night, Su Wan lay in bed, unable to sleep, her heart swirling with emotions. She pondered her future with Lu Ming, yet her mind was still shrouded in doubts about the past. She wanted to believe that Lu Ming loved her, that he had put the past with Li Yan behind him, but the photo, like a shadow, lingered in her mind.
"What should I do?" Su Wan asked herself, tears streaming down her face. She didn't want these emotions to affect her wedding preparations, but she couldn't suppress the turmoil in her heart.
The next day, Su Wan decided to meet up with her good friend Xiaoya to share her troubles. She walked into the coffee shop and saw Xiaoya waiting by the window, holding a cup of coffee and smiling.
"Xiaowan, you're here! Are you in a good mood today?" Xiaoya waved at her, her face full of sunshine.
"It's okay. I have something I want to talk to you about." Su Wan sat down, thinking secretly about how to start the conversation.
"How are the wedding preparations going?" Xiaoya asked with concern.
"It's going pretty well, but... I discovered something recently." Su Wan hesitated for a moment, and finally decided to confess.
"What's the matter?" The smile on Xiaoya's face gradually faded.
"When I was sorting out Lu Ming's old things, I found an old photo of him and Li Yan." Su Wan's voice trembled slightly, and her heart was full of uneasiness.
"Oh..." Xiaoya frowned slightly, "So how do you feel now?"
"I don't know. I feel a little uneasy." Su Wan lowered her head, her fingers unconsciously pinching the coffee cup, her heart full of anxiety.
"You can try asking Lu Ming and see what he thinks." Xiaoya suggested.
"I... I'm afraid asking will cause an argument." Su Wan's voice was low, but she felt a glimmer of hope in her heart about Xiaoya's suggestion.
"If you don't ask, and you always have doubts in your heart, won't it be more painful?" Xiaoya said seriously.
Wan silently pondered Xiaoya's words, feeling a sense of relief. Perhaps she should have told Ming about her doubts, rather than letting this unease fester.
"I'll try to talk to him." Su Wan finally nodded, deciding in her heart to face it all bravely.
After returning home, Su Wan's mood calmed down a little. She began to seriously think about how to have a frank conversation with Lu Ming. Thinking about the upcoming wedding, she didn't want these negative emotions to affect their future.
That night, when Lu Ming got home from get off work, he saw Su Wan busy in the kitchen. He walked over and asked with concern, "What delicious food are you making?"\n\n"I want to give you a surprise." Su Wan replied with a smile, but she was thinking about how to start.
During dinner, the atmosphere was pleasant and warm. Su Wan tried to relax and not think about her troubles. However, the uneasiness in her heart always lingered, constantly reminding her to communicate with Lu Ming.
"I have something I want to talk to you about." After the meal, Su Wan plucked up the courage to break the silence.
"What's the matter?" Lu Ming raised his head, his eyes showing concern.
Su Wan took a deep breath and tried to maintain a calm tone: "When I was sorting out your old things, I found an old photo of you and Li Yan."
Lu Ming's expression changed slightly, but he quickly regained his composure. He nodded and motioned for Su Wan to continue.
"I'm a little uneasy. I know you and her are over, but... that photo makes me feel doubtful." Su Wan's voice was low, and her heart was filled with uneasiness.
"Su Wan, I'm sorry to make you feel uneasy." Lu Ming said seriously, "My past with Li Yan is the past. My future with you is what I care about most."
As their wedding day approaches, Su Wan and Lu Ming's lives seem to be filled with trivial matters. Although each day is full of anticipation, Su Wan's doubts about the past are like a thorn in her heart that she can never completely let go, causing her emotions to begin to fluctuate.
That day, Su Wan walked into the kitchen as usual, preparing breakfast for Lu. She tried to appear relaxed, trying to put aside her uneasiness. However, while beating the eggs, her finger accidentally touched the eggshell, spilling the egg all over the floor, instantly bringing her mood to the bottom.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Lu Ming had already woken up. He smelled the noise in the kitchen, walked in and saw this scene, and immediately asked with concern.
"It's okay, I was just a little careless." Su Wan forced a smile, but she was secretly annoyed. She didn't want to make Lu Ming worry, but she couldn't hide her inner turmoil.
