The President's Tender Trap
Chapter 32 Key Projects
As the meeting concluded, Su Wan and Lu Ming were called together to discuss the specifics of the project. Lu Ming sat across from her, his face as calm as ever. Although he tried to remain professional, Su Wan could sense the tension within him. The atmosphere between them was delicate and tense, as if an invisible thread was pulling them apart.
"We need to clarify the project's goals and timelines." Lu Ming was the first to break the silence, his tone revealing a hint of seriousness.
"Yes, I think we can start with market research to understand customer needs." Su Wan nodded, trying to make her voice sound natural.
However, as the discussion deepened, their opinions began to diverge. Lu Ming believed that product development should take priority, while Su Wan felt that market research was more important. Both wanted to contribute their ideas to the project, but their respective perspectives led to a heated debate.
"How can you think like that? Without market research, how can we know what customers need?" Su Wan's voice unconsciously rose a few degrees.
"But if we don't conduct product research and development first, how can we ensure the feasibility of the project? Don't you think this is more efficient?" Lu Ming retorted, frowning, obviously dissatisfied with Su Wan's point of view.
The argument intensified, drawing curious glances from colleagues. Su Wan felt a surge of anger and resentment, even considering abandoning the project. She understood that their relationship hadn't fully mended, and this argument would only complicate matters.
"I think we need to calm down." Su Wan finally calmed down, took a deep breath, and tried to suppress her inner emotions. "We can sort out our respective opinions and then discuss it."
Lu Ming also realized that his attitude was too excited and nodded. Although he was still dissatisfied in his heart, he was willing to give this cooperation a chance.
Over the next few days, Su Wan and Lu Ming each busied themselves with their own work. Outwardly, they appeared calm, yet deep down, they were still filled with tension and anxiety. Their interactions within the project team were few and far between, and even in those few exchanges, there was still a subtle awkwardness and estrangement.
However, as the project progressed, Su Wan and Lu Ming gradually began to recognize each other's strengths. Su Wan discovered that Lu Ming had solid expertise in product development, able to quickly analyze a product's strengths and weaknesses and offer practical suggestions. Lu Ming, in turn, gradually realized that Su Wan's keen insight into market research gave the project greater direction. She was able to grasp client needs and lay the foundation for its success.
At a team meeting, Su Wan took the initiative to propose a plan that integrated the two perspectives: "We can first conduct preliminary market research to understand customer needs, and then proceed with product development. This will ensure that our products are more in line with market trends."
After hearing this, Lu Ming's eyes flashed with surprise, "This plan is good. We can apply the research results to product development, which can improve efficiency." His opinion of Su Wan began to change, and he felt her professionalism and ability.
As they worked together, Su Wan and Lu Ming gradually overcame their previous differences and began to develop a tacit understanding. They each had a clear division of labor: Su Wan oversaw market research, while Lu Ming focused on product development. Although their interactions outside of work remained cautious, this tacit cooperation gradually put the project on track.
As the project progressed, the two began sharing things beyond work. During lunch one day, Lu Ming mentioned a new product he was working on to Su Wan, his eyes gleaming with enthusiasm. Su Wan, smitten by his enthusiasm, actively participated in the discussion, even offering suggestions for improvements.
"Your idea for this product is very good! If we can adjust it according to market demand, it will definitely be more popular." Lu Ming was flattered by Su Wan's praise.
"Thank you, I will consider your suggestion." Lu Ming smiled slightly, and his opinion of Su Wan deepened.
Over time, their relationship gradually evolved from work partners to friends. Though the past still haunted them, the process of collaboration allowed them to rediscover each other and gradually bridge the gaps between them. Both understood that only by working together could this project be a success.
As the project entered a critical phase, Su Wan and Lu Ming's collaboration became increasingly smooth. Whenever they encountered difficulties, they would communicate openly and work together to find solutions. In this process, their trust gradually deepened, and a tacit understanding between them was formed.
However, despite this, past misunderstandings and emotions still left a mark on both of them. At a project review meeting, Lu Ming's ex-girlfriend unexpectedly showed up, causing Su Wan to feel uneasy again. She could sense Lu Ming's nervousness and embarrassment, and she couldn't help but feel a complicated feeling.
"I'm fine." After seeing Su Wan's nervous expression, Lu Ming whispered to comfort her, trying to make her relax.
"I know you're fine, but I'm still a little worried." Su Wan's voice was soft, but it expressed her true feelings.
"We have overcome many difficulties, haven't we? Believe me, this time will be no exception." Lu Ming's eyes were firm, as if he was telling her with his actions that their relationship was different from before.
Su Wan nodded. Although she still felt uneasy, she knew that only mutual trust could make this cooperation go further. The two of them joined hands again, moving towards their common goal.
As the project progressed, Su Wan and Lu Ming gradually developed a strong sense of trust and understanding. While their relationship remained somewhat delicate, their efforts enabled the project to gradually achieve positive progress. As time passed, Su Wan began to realize that perhaps past misunderstandings didn't represent future possibilities, but rather an opportunity for a fresh start.
In the days that followed, Su Wan and Lu Ming struggled to overcome their inner struggles. She began to reevaluate their relationship and consider the possibilities for the future. They were at a critical juncture, and how the future would unfold remained uncertain.
But Su Wan knows that only by working together can they meet greater challenges. And all this has just begun.
As they progressed on key projects, Su Wan and Lu Ming's collaboration grew closer. After initial tensions and misunderstandings, they gradually learned how to rely on each other at work, building a newfound trust. Whenever faced with new challenges, they put aside past grudges and worked together to overcome them.
