The President's Tender Trap
Chapter 124 Firm Companionship
Amidst the turmoil of family strife, Su Wan's emotions became unusually sensitive. Whenever she returned home and faced the tense atmosphere of her parents, she felt like she was being suppressed into an abyss, unable to extricate herself. She tried to find someone to confide in, but the silence and indifference at home left her feeling helpless. It was at this moment that Lu Ming's concern, like a ray of sunshine, illuminated her heart.
One weekend, Su Wan was alone in a cafe, lost in thought. She watched the crowds outside the window, her heart filled with frustration over her family's struggles. Just then, Lu Ming walked in, saw Su Wan sitting alone in a corner, and immediately approached her.
"Su Wan, what are you doing here?" Lu Ming sat down with a smile, concern in his eyes.
"I...it's nothing, I'm just thinking about something." Su Wan pretended to be calm, but there was a hint of fatigue in her voice.
"You seem to be in a bad mood recently. Have you encountered any troubles?" Lu Ming keenly noticed Su Wan's emotional fluctuations and asked with concern.
Su Wan hesitated for a moment, but finally decided to confide her troubles to Lu Ming. "Something has happened in my family recently. My parents are reluctant to tell me the truth about Uncle Li's secret. The atmosphere between us has become very tense."
"Uncle Li's secret? What is that?" Lu Ming frowned, concern in his eyes.
"I only found out recently. My parents always avoid talking about it, as if there's something they don't want me to know." Su Wan's voice was filled with helplessness. "This makes me very uneasy. I feel like my family is full of estrangement."
Lu Ming listened silently, feeling sorry for Su Wan's situation. He knew that the family conflict would bring her a huge psychological burden. After some thought, Lu Ming decided to accompany Su Wan to face this together.
"Su Wan, I want to face these things with you." Lu Ming said firmly, "No matter what happens, I will be by your side to support you."
"Thank you, Lu Ming." Su Wan felt a surge of warmth and a surge of emotion in her heart. She knew that Lu Ming's support would be an important strength for her to face difficulties.
Over the next few days, Lu Ming kept in close contact with Su Wan, often concerned about her mood swings. They made plans to go for walks together or have coffee together on weekends, and Lu Ming always tolerated Su Wan's troubles with patience and warmth.
"Su Wan, have you ever considered talking to your parents directly?" Lu Ming asked during a walk. "Sometimes, face-to-face communication can better solve problems."
"I tried, but every time Uncle Li was mentioned, they became nervous and seemed not to want to talk about the topic." Su Wan replied bitterly.
"Then you could try a different approach. For example, tell them you care about their feelings, not just about the past." Lu Ming's advice was full of wisdom. "Let them know you're not trying to open up the wounds, but rather hope to understand them."
Su Wan pondered Lu Ming's words, and her heart gradually brightened. After a period of emotional communication, she found that Lu Ming was not only her lover, but also her confidant in life. He knew how to offer support and advice in difficult situations, which made her feel extremely reassured.
One evening, Su Wan and Lu Ming were walking in the park together. The stars twinkled in the night sky, and the breeze was gentle, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Su Wan gradually relaxed, and she began to confide in Lu Ming about her thoughts and feelings about her family.
"Lu Ming, sometimes I wonder if my parents' concealment of the truth is out of love, or because they don't want to face the pain of the past." There was a hint of confusion in Su Wan's voice.
"I think they might want to protect you, but sometimes, overprotection can lead to misunderstandings," Lu Ming analyzed seriously. "If you can make them feel your desire for the truth while also expressing your understanding of them, it might have unexpected results."
"You're right, I will try to do that." Su Wan nodded, her heart filled with new hope.
As time went by, Lu Ming's companionship gradually changed Su Wan's mindset. She began to look at problems from a broader perspective, no longer clinging solely to the truth itself. She understood that family harmony and trust were the most important things.
Finally, on a sunny weekend, Su Wan mustered up the courage to have another in-depth discussion with her parents. She invited them to go for a walk in the park, hoping to create a relaxing atmosphere.
"Dad, Mom, can we talk?" Su Wan whispered on a path in the park.
"Of course, what's wrong?" There was a hint of nervousness in my father's tone.
"What I want to say is that I don't want to reveal Uncle Li's secret, but I hope to understand your feelings." Su Wan tried to make her tone sound gentle.
"We just want you to be happy and don't want you to worry." There was a hint of tenderness in the mother's voice.
"I understand your intentions, but I hope to better understand your past and your choices." Su Wan said seriously, "I don't want our relationship to become distant because of secrets."
The parents exchanged a glance, seemingly weighing something. Lu Ming watched quietly from the side, offering Su Wan silent support and encouragement. He knew this was a crucial moment for rebuilding trust between Su Wan and her parents.
"Actually, it's not that we don't want to tell you, but there are some things we feel shouldn't be brought up again." My father finally spoke, his tone much softer.
"I hope we can face it together. No matter what happened in the past, it is part of our family." Su Wan's voice was firm and warm.
After an in-depth conversation, Su Wan's parents gradually let down their guard and began to openly share stories about Uncle Li's past, recounting the hardships of their youth, Uncle Li's choices, and how those decisions affected the entire family.
"Uncle Li went through a lot of pain. His choices weren't made out of selfishness, but to protect his family." There was a hint of emotion in my mother's voice. "We always wanted to protect you and prevent you from enduring that pain."
Hearing this, Su Wan felt a surge of warmth, and her doubts gradually dissipated. She understood that the love between family members was deep and complex, and it was precisely because of this love that they chose to conceal their pain.
"Thank you for sharing this with me. I will cherish our relationship." Su Wan said sincerely, tears in her eyes.
Lu Ming stood quietly by, feeling relieved. He knew that Su Wan's communication with her parents was not only about uncovering the secrets of the past, but also about rebuilding trust and understanding between them.
After this communication, Su Wan's family relationships improved significantly. Her parents no longer avoided her questions and began to actively share their experiences and feelings. In the process, Su Wan gradually understood her parents' efforts and was filled with gratitude.
In the days that followed, Su Wan's relationship with her parents grew closer. She often took the initiative to have dinner with her parents and share the little things in life, and Lu Ming played an important supporting role in this process.
"Thank you, Lu Ming. Without your support, I might not have the courage to face all this." Su Wan said with emotion during a date.
"I just did what I should do. I'm happy to see you happy." Lu Ming responded with a smile, his eyes full of tenderness and determination.
With Lu Ming's companionship, Su Wan not only achieved family reconciliation but also found greater strength in love. She understood that facing life's challenges, whether family disputes or inner struggles, love and support were her constant driving force. The bond between the two deepened in this process, and the foundation of their mutual understanding and trust was continuously strengthened.
