The President's Tender Trap

Chapter 100 Discovery of Medical Records

Sunlight streamed through the hospital windows into the ward, illuminating it with warmth and brightness. Su Wan sat beside Uncle Li's bed, clutching a bouquet of flowers, her heart filled with concern and anxiety. Uncle Li had been hospitalized due to an emergency on his wedding day, and although the doctor had declared him out of danger, Su Wan couldn't calm down.

"Su Wan, come, come and chat with me." Uncle Li's voice was weak, but it was full of warmth. He tilted his head slightly and forced a smile, trying to comfort Su Wan.

"Uncle Li, how do you feel? The doctor said you are fine now, I feel relieved." Su Wan said softly, but she was still worried about his health.

"My old bones won't fall down so soon." Uncle Li smiled and shook his head, his eyes full of kindness. His gaze moved away from Su Wan's face and fell on the blue sky outside the window, as if he was reminiscing about the good old days.

Su Wan gently put down the flowers and sat down beside Uncle Li, thinking of the happy times they had shared together. Whenever she felt lost, Uncle Li always patiently guided her and gave her strength. Now, she wished she could spend more time with him, to make up for the rush and anxiety of their wedding day.

At that moment, Su Wan's eyes stumbled upon the medical records folder at Uncle Li's bedside. Curiosity piqued her interest, and she reached for it. The folder bore a doctor's label, documenting Uncle Li's condition and treatment plan. Su Wan's heart raced, a mixture of curiosity and unease.

"Su Wan, what are you looking at?" Uncle Li's voice interrupted her thoughts. Su Wan hurriedly put the medical record folder back with a trace of guilt on her face.

"Nothing... nothing, just looking around," she stammered, feeling a little uneasy. But her curiosity was still playing tricks on her, and she thought to herself, "If there's some secret about Uncle Li's illness and the family, then I should know."

"You know, at my age, I always have some minor ailments." Uncle Li said lightly, seemingly unconcerned. But Su Wan could sense an unusual heaviness in Uncle Li's tone.

At this moment, Uncle Li's gaze fell out the window again, as if he was thinking about something. Su Wan's heart tightened, thinking that he might be hiding something. She couldn't help but think of the past, Uncle Li's concern for her, his sense of responsibility to the family, and his seemingly complicated relationship with the family.

"Uncle Li, you have always cared about me and Lu Ming. Is there anything you want to tell me?" Su Wan mustered up the courage and tried to break the silence.

Uncle Li was slightly stunned, then he smiled bitterly, "There are some things that maybe you shouldn't know." His voice was low and helpless, as if he was worried about something.

Su Wan felt a surge of unease, vaguely sensing that this secret was definitely not simple. She took a deep breath and continued, "But I think we're family, and there are some things we should be honest about."

"Family..." Uncle Li muttered to himself, his eyes flashing with complex emotions, as if he felt guilty about something in the past. Su Wan saw the tears flashing in his eyes, and her heart trembled, feeling that the matter was far more serious than she had imagined.

"Okay, I'll tell you." Uncle Li finally made up his mind, his voice becoming low and heavy. "Actually, I recently discovered something that is related to our family's history."

Su Wan's heart instantly rose, "What's the matter?" Her voice was a little anxious, and her heart was filled with anxiety and anticipation.

"Do you know why I have always been so concerned about your wedding with Lu Ming?" Uncle Li asked slowly, with a hint of mystery in his eyes.

"Because you care about us, I always thought it was because we are family." Su Wan replied, but she became more and more confused.

Uncle Li was silent for a moment, as if searching for the right words. "Actually, there are some family secrets that are not known to the public. I'm worried that these secrets might affect your relationship with Lu Ming."

"What secret?" Su Wan's voice became nervous, and the fear in her heart made her a little at a loss.

Uncle Li hesitated for a moment, but finally decided to be honest. "When I was young, I made some mistakes that may have affected our family relationship and even touched upon your and Lu Ming's life experiences."

Su Wan's heart suddenly sank, and fragments flashed through her mind, recalling Uncle Li's vague talk about family. She understood that this was not just about Uncle Li alone, but about the entire family, and even her future with Lu Ming.

"Uncle Li, can you tell me more?" Her voice trembled, her heart filled with fear and anxiety.

"I've always wanted to keep this a secret, but now I think you should know something." Uncle Li sighed, as if making a difficult decision. "Actually, the connection between you and Lu Ming is more complicated than you think."

"My connection with Lu Ming? How is that possible?" Su Wan's heart was filled with doubts and uneasiness. She couldn't imagine that there might be other connections between her and Lu Ming.

"I can't tell you too much right away, but I hope you can understand that the relationships within our family are far more complicated than they appear." Uncle Li's tone was resigned. "Perhaps you'll find it difficult to accept, but I hope you can remain calm."

Su Wan's heart ached as she began to ponder the potential impact of this secret. Would her relationship with Lu Ming be affected by these secrets? Could she face this calmly?

Su Wan's thoughts were swirling, her heart filled with anxiety and confusion. She recalled the sweet moments she and Lu Ming had spent planning their wedding, and their beautiful visions of the future. But now, it all seemed shrouded in a deep secret.

"I need time to digest these things." Su Wan whispered, her inner turmoil made her feel at a loss.

"I understand you, Su Wan." Uncle Li's voice was gentle but heavy. "No matter what happens, your relationship with Lu Ming is the most important. Don't let secrets affect your happiness."

Su Wan nodded silently, but a complex emotion welled up in her heart. She knew that she would have to face the challenges brought about by this secret and the unknown that might affect her relationship with Lu Ming.

Su Wan left the hospital with a heavy and complicated mood. As she walked down the street, Uncle Li's words echoed in her mind, filled with doubt and unease. At the same time, she knew she had to seriously consider what this secret meant for her and Lu Ming's future.

In the days that followed, Su Wan decided not to run away anymore and bravely faced the upcoming challenges. No matter how complicated the secret was, she would strive to maintain the sincerity and trust between her and Lu Ming, because she knew that love was the power that could conquer everything.

As Su Wan struggled and pondered, her resolve grew stronger. She decided to keep this secret deep in her heart, waiting for the right moment to have a frank conversation with Lu Ming. Even though the road ahead was full of uncertainties, she would bravely continue to pursue her own happiness.
