Lei Tao stood in the ruins outside Nanjing, his eyes cold and resolute, gazing at the distant city, brutally occupied by the Japanese army. The smell of gunpowder from the recent battle still hung heavy on his body, and the fierce battles seemed to replay before his eyes.

Before deciding to infiltrate Nanjing, Lei Tao had already experienced dozens of such raids, both large and small. In each instance, he acted like a ferocious cheetah, inflicting heavy losses on the Japanese with his swiftness and decisive action. His heroic actions not only saved countless innocent civilians but also plunged the Japanese army into a state of deep panic.

These intense battles had already drawn the close attention and scrutiny of the senior Japanese commanders. The atmosphere within the headquarters was tense and oppressive. The senior commanders sat grimly around the conference table, staring intently at the report on the Lei Tao attack before them, their hearts filled with anger and confusion.

"Who is this mysterious enemy? How many people are there in the world? Why do our troops suffer his attacks again and again?" A commander asked loudly, slamming the table angrily.

The other commanders also began to discuss the matter. They were extremely troubled by this sudden appearance of the enemy. They knew that if they did not find this enemy and eliminate it as soon as possible, the Japanese rule in Nanjing would be greatly threatened.

"Order all troops to intensify patrols and vigilance. We must find this enemy!" a high-ranking commander decisively issued the order. "Also, strengthen the blockade of Nanjing City. We must not allow this enemy to easily infiltrate the city."

The Japanese army immediately launched a massive search operation. They set up numerous checkpoints around Nanjing, and patrols crisscrossed the streets and suburbs day and night. However, Lei Tao remained undeterred. He knew his actions had drawn the attention of the Japanese, but this only strengthened his resolve.

Lei Tao calmly analyzed the situation and realized he had to act more cautiously. He decided to change his strategy and find a more covert way to infiltrate Nanjing. With his familiarity with the terrain and his agility, he quietly circumvented Japanese patrols, constantly searching for opportunities to enter the city.

During this process, Lei Tao encountered several small-scale battles. However, with his outstanding combat skills and fearless courage, he escaped danger time and time again. He had only one goal in mind, which was to sneak into Nanjing City and bring hope to the people and captured soldiers.

Finally, Lei Tao successfully infiltrated Nanjing. He carefully moved through the streets, secretly searching for a valuable target. At this time, Nanjing was filled with fear and despair. The streets were in shambles, and everywhere was a scene of destruction caused by the Japanese army.

Suddenly, Lei Tao spotted Ellie, a reporter from the United States, digging frantically on the side of the street with a sharp bamboo stick she'd found somewhere. Her face was filled with nervous anticipation, and her hands moved quickly and vigorously. Soon, ecstatic, she knelt down, reached into the hole she'd enlarged with the stick, and pulled out a paper box. She carefully opened it and looked inside, a smile of relief spreading across her face. Then, cautiously glancing around, she saw no one was watching and quickly tucked the box back into the compartment on her hat.

However, at this moment, Ellie's actions were discovered by a patrol of Japanese soldiers. The Japanese soldiers rushed towards Ellie, shouting, and Ellie was terrified and at a loss.

Seeing this, Lei Tao rushed over to help her cover without hesitation. He quickly pulled out a Mauser pistol from his waist and shot at the Japanese soldiers rushing towards him. The sound of gunfire rang out on the street, breaking the silence.

The Japanese soldiers were caught off guard by the sudden attack and sought cover to avoid it. Lei Tao fired while shouting to Ellie, "Follow me!"

Ellie came to her senses and followed Lei Tao closely. Lei Tao led her through the streets, using various obstacles to avoid the Japanese soldiers' shooting. Sometimes they shuttled through narrow alleys, and sometimes they jumped over collapsed walls.

"Hey! You are so troublesome!" Lei Tao said as they ran.

“I’m recording history. You don’t understand!” Alice replied breathlessly.

“Recording history is not done like this. You almost got yourself killed.” Lei Tao rolled his eyes.

“Well, if you hadn’t shown up suddenly, I might have escaped already.” Alice retorted.

“Don’t be ridiculous. With your short legs, how fast can you run?” Lei Tao teased.

“You! You are so mean!” Alice stomped her foot in anger.

The Japanese army was in hot pursuit, firing relentlessly. Lei Tao responded calmly, using his combat experience and agility to escape danger time and time again. He led Ai Li to charge left and right, trying to shake off the Japanese troops who were surrounding them.

“Quick! This way!” Lei Tao shouted as they ran.

“What’s going on? Why are they chasing us?” Alice asked in panic.

“You were spotted by the Japanese soldiers. Now we have to find a way to escape.” Lei Tao explained.

“This is so crazy. I just wanted to get some important pictures.” Alice said frustratedly.

“Don’t worry. We’ll get out of this.” Lei Tao said firmly.

Around a corner, Lei Tao found an abandoned warehouse. Without hesitation, he rushed in with Ellie and quickly closed the door. The Japanese soldiers chased to the door of the warehouse, but did not dare to enter rashly. They lingered at the door, waiting for support.

Lei Tao and Ai Li hid in the warehouse, nervously listening to the noise outside. They knew that they could not relax their vigilance yet and had to find a way to escape the Japanese army's pursuit as soon as possible. Lei Tao began to think about the next action plan. He knew that this battle had just begun.

As time goes by, Lei Tao gets closer and closer to Nanjing. He knows that a bigger storm is coming. And he will continue to show the indomitable spirit of the Chinese nation in this storm and fight for justice and dignity.
