Demonic Dao Fanfiction: Protecting You from Worries for a Lifetime
Chapter 230: Obsession into the sea, no one left behind
It was not until the earth and sky shook that the people of Guiyuan Sect realized that something had happened. Even Ling Chao in the main hall felt it.
But when Ling Chao arrived, he saw that his senior brother Ling Jin had a pale face, and there was a huge golden magic circle under his feet and in the sky. Ling Chao hurried forward to stop it, but he had no cultivation, so how could he stop it? He was bounced away by the magic circle. If he had not been caught by someone, the meridians that had just been connected would have been broken again.
"Brother, stop! I've already lost my master, I can't lose you again." Ling Chao stared at the madly spinning magic circle in front of him, tears streaming down his face again. He shouted desperately.
But Ling Jin seemed oblivious, his gaze fixed on the distant main peak. Even the calls of his once beloved brother seemed to have reached him unheard. His heart, suffocated by despair, could no longer be moved. His eyes were filled with determination and sorrow, as if, in that moment, he had completely abandoned the world.
After a long time, Ling Jin finally turned his tired gaze away and looked at Ling Chao, who had collapsed to the ground. He said in a voice transmission: "Sorry, Ah Chao, I'm tired. Remember to take care of your father and brother's share and live well."
When Ling Chao heard his senior brother's voice transmission, he was overwhelmed with an unprecedented fear and despair. He tried his best to get closer to Ling Jin, but was blocked by the huge golden magic circle. He could only watch helplessly as his senior brother walked towards destruction step by step.
The light of the magic circle grew brighter, and Ling Jin's figure loomed within it. He seemed to be enduring immense pain, but his eyes were remarkably firm. "No! Brother! Don't!" Ling Chao roared, his voice swallowed by the magic circle's light, but his thoughts seemed to penetrate space and reach Ling Jin.
However, Ling Jin had made up his mind. He smiled slightly, and that smile was full of bitterness and relief.
Immediately afterwards, a sharp sword pierced Ling Jin's body. He sacrificed his life in exchange for the reincarnation of all the deceased disciples of Guiyuan Sect.
The magic circle's radiance suddenly intensified, completely devouring the spirit embers before transforming into a dazzling beam that shot straight into the sky. Wherever the beam passed, space seemed to be torn apart, leaving behind long, thin cracks that would not heal for a long time.
Ling Chao stared at what was happening before his eyes in amazement, his heart filled with shock and grief. He couldn't believe that the senior brother who had always loved him would end his life in such a decisive way.
After the light faded, everything returned to calm. Ling Chao struggled to his feet, his eyes searching the surroundings, hoping to find any trace of his senior brother. However, apart from the arena, which had been completely destroyed by the magic circle, he found nothing.
Ling Chao fell to his knees in despair, tears pouring out like a spring. He had lost his master and was about to lose his senior brother. At this moment, he felt as if he had lost the whole world, lonely and helpless.
Not only were the people in the mirror stunned, but Lan Xichen outside the mirror was also stunned. He never expected that Ling Jin would make such a sacrifice.
The scene in the water mirror continued. Lan Xichen saw Ling Chao faint in the mirror. After waking up, he sat there motionless, staring blankly ahead, as if he had lost all his soul. His face no longer had the smile of the past, only deep sadness and despair.
Lan Xichen sighed inwardly, wondering why fate was so cruel, making this young man suffer so much.
The picture in the water mirror changed again. After Ling Chao bid farewell to his master and senior brothers, he went into seclusion to practice. Time passed and no one knew how many years had passed.
As soon as Ling Chao came out of seclusion, he slowly walked out of the door with a sword in his hand, his eyes revealing determination.
Lan Xichen didn’t know where Ling Chao was going, nor did he know what he would do next, but he could feel Ling Chao’s inner struggle and pain.
The scene changed, and Ling Chao was seen pointing his sword at a person in front of him, his eyes revealing an unprecedented fighting spirit.
"Come and fight, Pei Huai."
These four words, like an icy cold wind, instantly swept between the two of them.
The tip of Ling Chao's sword trembled slightly, a mixture of excitement and anger in his heart. He stared at Pei Huai in front of him. This person who had once been inextricably linked to his senior brother Ling Jin had now become his target of revenge.
Pei Huai's black hair was tied into a high crown, and his brows showed indifference, coldness and loneliness, just like the ruthless way he practiced.
Ruthless and without desire, he just glanced at Ling Chao with a cold look, and said casually, "You can't beat me."
Ling Chao heard this and a sneer curled up his lips. That smile contained both sarcasm towards Pei Huai and helplessness towards himself. "Whether I can beat him or not, I'll only know after I try!" Before he finished speaking, he flashed and rushed towards Pei Huai like an arrow from a bow, the sword in his hand whistling with the sound of wind, pointing directly at Pei Huai's vital points.
Pei Huai didn't move, simply raising his hand. An invisible barrier appeared before him. Ling Chao's sword collided with the barrier with a loud clang, sending sparks flying. He paused, nearly being knocked back by the recoil.
However, Ling Chao did not retreat. He took a deep breath and swung his sword again to attack Pei Huai. This time, his sword skills were even more fierce. The tip of the sword drew silver tracks in the air, enveloping Pei Huai like a dense spider web.
Pei Huai's expression remained calm, not even drawing his sword. With a simple flick of his sleeve, he easily neutralized Ling Chao's attacks one by one. Each of his movements seemed so calm and composed, as if everything was under his control.
Ling Chao's attacks grew more and more fierce, but his swordsmanship seemed increasingly pale and powerless in front of Pei Huai. He began to breathe rapidly, and beads of sweat began to form on his forehead. He knew that the gap between him and Pei Huai was too great, but the hatred and anger in his heart prevented him from stopping.
Pei Huai looked at Ling Chao's almost crazy attack, and a trace of confusion flashed in his eyes.
Ling Chao knelt on one knee, long sword in hand, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and looked up at Pei Huai, who remained unchanged. His eyes were filled with resentment and a hint of hatred.
"Pei Huai, do you still remember this?" His voice was hoarse and filled with hatred, and every word seemed to be squeezed out of his throat. Ling Chao took out a jade pendant from his bosom. The jade pendant was crystal clear, emitting a faint light, and engraved with bamboo patterns.
When Pei Huai saw the jade pendant, his expression remained unchanged and he said indifferently, "I don't know it." Then he turned and left.
Seeing this, Ling Chao's eyes were filled with rage. He gritted his teeth, endured the pain in his body, stood up again, gripped his sword tightly, and chased after Pei Huai. "Want to leave? Not that easy!"
Pei Huai didn't stop, but just flicked his sleeve lightly, and a powerful force surged out from his sleeve, knocking Ling Chao back several steps. Ling Chao stumbled back and almost fell to the ground, but he gritted his teeth and steadied himself.
