Demonic Dao Fanfiction: Protecting You from Worries for a Lifetime
Chapter 229 Chaoyang’s First Obsession in the Past
After a while, Ling Jin seemed to sense some kind of signal and looked up at the mountain not far away.
After a few breaths, a figure slowly appeared.
Ling Jin moved his right foot slightly, as if he wanted to take a step forward, but when he saw the disciples holding sharp swords and ready for battle, he hesitated and finally retracted his foot, but his eyes were always fixed on the figure that was gradually becoming clearer.
As the figure's outline became clearer and clearer, Ling Jin's breathing became more and more rapid. His heartbeat seemed to be synchronized with the figure's pace, and every step struck his heart heavily.
Finally, the figure completely entered Ling Jin's sight, and his sharp eyes softened in an instant, because the figure was none other than the master of Zhenfeng Peak whom he was familiar with, and also his second uncle.
Ling Jin's face showed a trace of anxiety, and he couldn't help asking: "Second Uncle, how are Master and Ah Chao doing now?"
Second Uncle-Master did not answer immediately, but just looked at Ling Jin quietly, with some deep meaning hidden in his eyes.
Ling Jin waited for the answer from his second uncle, but he still felt uneasy in his heart, as if something was quietly disappearing.
This feeling of unease hung over his heart like a dark cloud, making him feel heavy and depressed. He asked again anxiously, "Second Master?"
Second Uncle sighed softly, looked at his nephew whom he had known since childhood, and said earnestly: "Leave here."
Ling Jin raised his voice, "Uncle Master!" His voice was filled with a hint of disbelief and anxiety. He stared intently at Second Uncle Master, trying to find a glimmer of hope in his eyes. However, Second Uncle Master Master's gaze was firm and deep, without the slightest wavering.
An ominous premonition welled up in Ling Jin's heart. He almost pleaded, "Uncle Master, tell me, what happened to Master and Ah Chao? I can't just leave like this!"
Before Second Uncle could speak, a voice came from behind Ling Jin and asked, "Are you worthy?" The voice was full of sarcasm and disdain, causing Ling Jin's body to tremble involuntarily.
"Whether I am worthy or not is not up to you... to decide!" Ling Jin slowly turned around and was stunned while speaking. The first thing he saw was the figure standing in the front.
Even when his soul is exhausted, even a fallen demon would still want to love him. (Scumbags don't deserve names.)
The person next to that person said, "Don't you know? Qingxu Sword Master passed away yesterday."
Lan Xichen, standing before the water mirror, gazed upon the still-unconscious Ling Chao, a wave of heartache welling up in his heart. Witnessing Qingxu Sword Master's suicide, he realized that between their fellow disciples, one would inevitably be unable to endure and would eventually meet his end.
The scene continued to flash. Upon hearing the news of Qingxu Sword Master's passing, Ling Jin felt as if struck by lightning. He froze in his tracks, his eyes instantly reddened as tears welled up in his sockets, yet they refused to fall. His fists clenched, his knuckles white from the strain, as if he were trying to condense all his anger and grief into this moment.
"No... Impossible!" Ling Jin's voice was hoarse and low, and every word hit his heart like a sledgehammer. His body swayed slightly, as if he would fall down at any time.
Why is this happening? Master, he was wrong, he was wrong, he shouldn't have fallen in love with someone he shouldn't have loved.
Suddenly, Ling Jin flew vertically towards the main peak. He had only one thought in his mind, which was to see his master for the last time. Ling Jin's figure drew a meteor-like trajectory in the air at an astonishing speed, and in the blink of an eye he arrived at the foot of the main peak.
However, as he was about to continue forward, he was stopped by a group of people behind him. Meanwhile, Ling Chao gradually regained consciousness from his coma. When he regained consciousness, he discovered that his cultivation had been abolished, and then he heard shocking news—his master had passed away.
Ling Chao was in disbelief. Regardless of his injuries, he used the talisman to stagger towards the main peak. He prayed in his heart that none of this was real, that the master was just joking with him, and that he would appear in front of him soon with a smile, telling him that it was all a prank.
However, when he stumbled to the main hall, he saw the door was open and a black coffin was clearly placed inside, surrounded by white candles and flowers. The atmosphere was solemn and heavy.
Ling Chao's heart sank suddenly. He could hardly believe his eyes. Master, had he really left him?
He stood blankly in front of the hall, staring at the coffin with empty eyes, as if the whole world had lost its color at this moment. A gust of wind blew by, ruffling his messy hair and blowing away the last ray of hope in his heart.
The Danfeng Peak Master in the hall also noticed Ling Chao at the hall door and ran towards him excitedly, "Little Ling Chao, you finally woke up."
Ling Chao pretended not to hear and trembled as he walked into the hall. Every step felt like walking on the edge of a knife, the pain unbearable. He came to the coffin, slowly knelt down, and clutched the edge of the coffin with both hands. Finally, tears welled up in his eyes.
He called out in a low voice: "Master, Master, wake up, look at me, I am Ah Chao, I am back."
However, all he received in response was dead silence. Qingxu Sword Master lay quietly in his coffin, his face serene, as if he had simply fallen into a deep sleep, never to wake up again.
Ling Chao's heart was broken. He couldn't accept this cruel reality. His master, the one who had always loved him, taught him, and supported him, had left him forever.
Ling Chao cried heartbreakingly, his cries echoed in the hall, but he could no longer bring back his master's life.
The Danfeng Peak Master hugged Ling Chao tightly, his voice choking with sobs: "Brother, he has left us. Your meridians have just recovered. Don't be too sad."
Ling Chao lay in the arms of the Danfeng Peak Master, crying bitterly, his tears dripping onto the floor with a crisp sound, "Uncle Master, I don't have a master anymore." His voice was filled with despair and helplessness, as if the whole world was collapsing at this moment.
The leader of Danfeng Peak patted him gently on the back, trying to comfort him, but the grief in his heart was also difficult to suppress.
"Third Uncle, you won't give way either?" Ling Jin, who was standing at the foot of the main peak, stared at the group of people opposite him with a dull look, as if he had lost all his strength.
"Now that you've made your choice, there's no need to regret it. The bond between you, master and disciple, has ended. Let's go! There's no need to come back."
Ling Jin stood there motionless, just staring at the hall on the top of the mountain. He was just one step away, just one step away from seeing his master.
Master...Father, Ajin has disappointed you. Don't leave too fast. You are waiting for your son. When your son is done with his work, he will come to accompany you.
Ling Jin glanced at the top of the mountain with a look of despair and loneliness, then turned and left. However, he did not head outside the sect, but instead headed towards the arena in the center of the sect.
