Legilimency, the magic that can read another's thoughts and memories, is somewhat taboo. Fortunately, the subject isn't unconscious while this magic is in effect. When Hayashi Maki casts this spell, the subject also experiences the sensation of their memories being pored over. If Hayashi Maki could access someone's memories without their knowledge, possessing this forbidden ability would likely result in him being imprisoned like a criminal in the strictest of prisons. After all, memories are the deepest secrets of every human being. No one, no matter how powerful or humble, would want someone in this world to freely access their memories. Such a person deserves to be confined to a dark death row or killed—in short, their continued existence is best avoided.

Legilimency reads pure memory, capturing not only the images but also the feelings and thoughts of the person at that moment. Therefore, by matching the spoken words in memory with the thoughts, one can grasp fragments of the other person's language. While this isn't the original application of Legilimency, the power itself is undefined; it depends on how it is used, ultimately achieving the goal.

Being subjected to Legilimency felt quite unpleasant. As the cat-beast began to experience flashbacks of its past, its mid-air thrashing became even more ferocious.
