Transmigrating into the only holy female in the interstellar world, the orcs who have no descendants
Chapter 413 This is not my option
The door opened, and a tall resident stood outside, holding a wooden tray upon which lay fluorescent tubers and several pieces of perfectly grilled meat. A pale blue light shone around the food, emitting a strange but not unpleasant aroma.
After the meal, Caesar wiped his mouth and patted his bulging belly with his little hands: "Mom, Dad, the food here is so delicious!"
Rosie smiled and ruffled her son's black hair: "As long as you like it." She put away the plate, her eyes inadvertently sweeping across the blue and purple scenery outside the window, but her mind drifted to the spire and the words of the wise man.
The dawn light penetrated the crystal walls, casting dappled shadows across the room. Kyle was already standing in the center of the open space outside, his black robe fluttering slightly in the morning breeze.
"Focus." Kyle's cold voice was like a knife. "Control your power, don't release it."
Caesar stood before his father, his small body straight. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and when his amber eyes opened again, black energy had already gathered in his palms.
Luo Xi sat on a rock not far away, watching the father and son intently. Caesar's talent was astonishing. After just a few training sessions, his control over dark powers had made a qualitative leap.
"Release," Kyle ordered briefly.
Caesar pushed with his small hand, and a black ball of energy shot out from his palm, striking a target ten meters away. Instead of exploding as expected, the energy ball instantly engulfed the target, draining the energy from a small area around it, creating a small vacuum.
"That's not right." Rosie stood up and approached in surprise. "Kyle, his energy properties are different from yours."
Kyle's brow furrowed slightly, a hint of surprise flashing across his amber eyes. "Dark powers are inherently varied, but this devouring nature..." He paused, thoughtful, "This is more like the embryonic form of the power of chaos."
"The power of chaos?" Rosie turned to Kyle, her eyes full of questions.
Kyle didn't answer immediately. He simply crouched down and looked his son in the eye. "Try again. This time, control the area of effect. Only consume the target, and avoid affecting the surrounding area."
Caesar nodded earnestly, his face tense. He gathered his energy again, this time the black ball of light smaller but more solid. He took a deep breath and gave a sharp push with his little hand.
The energy ball hit the target accurately, and the target was instantly devoured, while the surrounding area remained intact.
"Well done." Kyle raised the corner of his mouth slightly and rubbed his son's head. This small gesture might seem insignificant to others, but Rosie knew that this was Kyle's highest praise.
After training, Caesar jumped around and explored. Suddenly, he stopped behind his house and pointed at an area that looked out of place. "Dad, Mom, what's wrong with the plants over there?"
Luo Xi followed her son's finger and was surprised to find a patch of withered, blue fluorescent plants. In the vibrant environment of the alien world, this dead area seemed particularly abrupt.
Caesar took a step forward curiously, but was pulled back by Kyle: "Don't go over there."
At this moment, the warrior from yesterday appeared from nowhere, blocking the path to the withered plants. His face was solemn, and he spoke something rapidly in ancient interstellar language.
"He said it's forbidden ground and you can't go near it," Caesar translated, his large amber eyes full of curiosity. "He said that's where the 'losers' are buried."
"Loser?" Luo Xi frowned and asked directly in Common Language, "What do you mean?"
The warrior understood her question, but hesitated, his eyes flickering. "It's related to the holy object..." He paused, as if weighing his words. "Those who tried to awaken the holy object but failed are buried there."
Luo Xi's heart trembled, and her eyes swept over the withered area again. The withered blue plants shone faintly in the morning light, like the last stubborn hold of some life.
The holy object on her chest warmed slightly, as if responding to the call of that area.
In the evening, Kyle took Caesar to explore the city, hoping to find more clues about the holy relics. Rosie declined to go with them, saying that she wanted to stay at her residence and rest.
"Are you sure you don't want to come together?" Kyle frowned slightly, and a hint of worry flashed in his amber eyes.
"I'm fine, just a little tired." Rosie smiled and gently pushed Kyle's chest. "Go ahead and bring back some more delicious food."
Caesar hugged his mother's legs and looked up at her: "Mommy, be good."
Luo Xi squatted down and kissed her son's forehead gently: "Of course, you have to listen to your father."
After watching the father and son leave, Rosie turned around immediately. The fatigue on her face was gone, replaced by a firm determination. The soldier's words and the withered plant lingered in her mind, unable to be shaken off.
She knew Kyle would stop her from going to the forbidden area, but there were some things she had to confirm in person. If that area was truly connected to the sacred artifact, she couldn't miss a single clue. More importantly, although the plants appeared withered, Rosie keenly sensed a faint vitality still flowing within them. As a wood-type ability user, this perception was almost instinctive.
Luo Qian quietly left her residence and followed the route she remembered to the forbidden area. At dusk, Light Stone City was exceptionally quiet, with few people on the streets. Even the usual sounds of the alien wind seemed deliberately muted.
As they approached the forbidden area, a strange chill hit them. Luo Qian stopped, mobilized her wood power to form a protective shield, and then continued forward.
Finally, she stood before the withered plants. A closer look revealed them to be even more bizarre than she had imagined—their blue stems and leaves were covered in intricate patterns, shaped like ancient writing. Even more astonishing, these seemingly withered plants were actually trembling slightly, as if following some invisible rhythm.
"What are you calling for?" Rosie asked softly, squatting down and carefully touching the nearest plant with her fingers.
As her fingertips touched the plant's surface, an unfamiliar energy surged up her arm and into her body. The sacred object on her chest suddenly heated up, resonating strongly with this energy. Countless images flashed before Rosie's eyes—a magnificent crystal city, a jubilant crowd, three overlapping moons, then darkness, chaos, wailing...
These plants are not withered, but sleeping! Rosie was surprised to find that they are still waiting to be awakened and reborn.
As a wood-type power user, Luo Xi instinctively wanted to awaken these lives. She closed her eyes, mobilized her wood-type power, and channeled the life energy into the plants.
Just as the energy was about to reach the plant, an incredibly powerful backlash erupted! Rosie was flung back, landing heavily on the ground several meters away. A sharp pain spread from her chest throughout her body, making her breath difficult and her vision blurry.
Luo Xi struggled to stand up, but was knocked down by a sharp pain. The holy object on her chest had lost its luster, as if suppressed by some powerful force.
"I told you not to act rashly."
Kyle's voice came from behind, cold as a polar glacier. Rosie froze, slowly turning to meet his amber eyes, burning with rage.
"I found an important clue." Luo Xi tried to explain, "These plants are still alive, they are waiting to be awakened."
"Trading your life for some so-called clue?" Kyle stepped closer, his voice low, "Don't you care about yourself at all?"
"I have to confirm it myself." Luo Xi raised her head stubbornly. "If it's related to the holy relic, I can't miss it."
"That's enough!" Kyle grabbed her shoulders fiercely. "Who do you think you are? The master of the relic? The hero who saves the world?"
Rosie trembled at his strength, but glared back stubbornly: "I'm just trying to do my part."
"What about me?" Kyle's voice suddenly dropped. "Have you ever thought about what I would do if something happened to you?"
Rosie was stunned. She had never seen Kyle like this before. His cold eyes now gleamed with a fragile light.
"I'm sorry..." Rosie said softly, reaching out to stroke Kyle's tense jaw. "I just..."
Before she could finish her words, Kyle pulled her into his arms. His heartbeat was so intense it threatened to burst through his chest, and his hot breath sprayed against her ears.
"Don't do this again, Sissi." Kyle's voice was hoarse, "I can't lose you."
Rosie froze for a moment, then relaxed, burying her face in Kyle's chest. She felt the vulnerability of this powerful man, and a warm feeling welled up in her heart.
"I promise," Rosie whispered, wrapping her arms around Kyle's waist. "I won't take any more risks."
Kyle tightened his embrace, as if he wanted to rub her into his bones and blood. After a long while, he loosened his grip slightly and lowered his head to examine Rosie's injuries.
"Can you walk?"
Luo Xi tried to move her body, and a sharp pain shot through her limbs, as if countless tiny needles were piercing her blood vessels. The backlash was more violent than she had imagined, and every breath strained her nerves.
"I'm fine..." She nodded while trying to endure the pain, and tried to stand up by supporting herself on the ground, but her legs went weak the moment she stood up and she almost fell down.
Kyle's actions were faster than his thoughts. He grabbed Rosie's waist and held her steady. His amber eyes locked onto her pale face, the anger in them gradually giving way to worry.
"Don't be brave."
Before he could finish his words, Kyle had already lifted her up and carried her sideways. Rosie felt the strength of his arms, the slightly tightening of his fingers. This man, invincible on the battlefield, was now tense to the extreme because of her adventure.
"I can really walk on my own..." Rosie retorted softly, her voice so weak that even she wasn't convinced. She couldn't help but rest her head on Kyle's chest, listening to his rapid heartbeat.
Kyle walked forward in silence, each step steady as a rock yet light as a feather, afraid that the vibration would exacerbate her pain. His black robe fluttered slightly in the wind, casting a shadow over them both.
"Those plants... they're still alive..." Rosie couldn't help but say, "They're waiting to be awakened, waiting to be reborn..."
"At the cost of your life?" Kyle's voice was chillingly cold, yet concealed a trembling that could not be concealed.
