Falcon paused and looked at Luo Xi with a hint of surprise: "Fire kang?"

"We build a platform of stones, light a fire underneath, and transfer the heat to the stones, so you won't feel cold sleeping on them," Rosie explained, gesturing. "We can even put these heat-retaining stones in the walls, and the whole cave will be warm."

Falcon stared at Luo Xi for a few seconds, frowning slightly: "What kind of weird things are in your head?"

Rosie bit her lip, thinking that this idea might be too advanced.

"But..." Falcon suddenly spoke in a low voice, "You have a point."

Rosie looked up in surprise, her eyes widening. Falcon actually agreed with her idea?

"I'll go find more of these stones tomorrow." Falcon placed the last piece of meat on the stone slab, the fat sizzling. "If this really works, then Han Ji..."

There wouldn't be so many females and cubs dying in pain...

Falcon didn't finish his words, but Rosie could see what he was thinking from his lonely eyes.

Did he think of...

My mother and sister died in the cold season...

The flames danced, outlining Falcon's resolute profile. Sweat trickled down his muscular lines across his bronzed skin, gleaming in the firelight. Rosie suddenly realized that this seemingly cold and hard man possessed a hidden tenderness.

The next day, Falcon soared into the air, stone hammer in hand, his movements steady and powerful. Each blow landed precisely on the rock, sending shards flying everywhere. After an unknown amount of time, a stone fire pit and a surrounding stone fire wall took shape, seemingly made by nature.

The effect was unexpected.

The sun hadn't yet set, but the cave was already warm. Luo Qian sat on the newly built stone kang, and the warmth spread through her palms as her fingertips touched the surface.

"It's much warmer than I thought." Rosie looked up and saw Falcon leaning against the cave entrance. His bronze skin was covered with a thin layer of sweat, and it shone like amber in the afterglow of the setting sun.

The temperature in the cave rose steadily. Rosie tugged at the fur skirt that clung to her back, feeling the heat unbearable. She stood up and dug out the hides and vines she had gathered from a corner. Her slender fingers moved nimbly, and soon, a small, suspender-like garment took shape.

"It's too hot. I'll change into something cooler." Rosie said softly and turned to change clothes deeper in the cave.

When she reappeared, she was wearing a simple animal-skin camisole, revealing her slender arms and fair shoulders, while the waist was tightened to highlight her perfect curves. This was just ordinary attire in modern times, but it looked particularly special in this primitive world.

Falcon turned his head, and the moment his eyes fell on Rosie, he froze.

He had seen the bold females in the tribe, many of whom were even topless like the males. But seeing Rosie's revealing outfit made his heart tighten, and his Adam's apple rolled unconsciously.

The hide barely covered the necessary parts, revealing a large expanse of fair skin. Her waist was so thin that it seemed as if it would break if bent, but Falcon knew the resilience contained within that body.

"What are you looking at?" Luo Xi raised her eyebrows and walked slowly towards the stone kang, bringing with her a faint fragrance.

Falcon abruptly looked away, a suspicious blush etched across the tips of his ears. "Nothing." His voice was a little lower than usual, a little hoarse.

"Ah! The cold season is coming soon. Are you trying to catch a cold by dressing like this?"

Falcon's voice was deep and full of authority. His eyes swept over Rosie's exposed skin, and his brows furrowed slightly.

Rosie opened her mouth to retort when she heard light footsteps outside the cave.

Falcon's body tensed instantly, muscles bulging beneath his bronze skin, like a beast poised for a fierce attack. "Who?" He lowered his voice, a wary glint in his eyes.

The next second, he disappeared without a trace.

Rosie froze in her tracks, feeling that Falcon's reaction was a bit excessive. She shook her head and silently tugged at her clothes.

Soon, a thin figure appeared at the cave entrance. The female, holding the cub, peered cautiously inside. It was none other than Si Si, the partner of the injured male from yesterday.

"Sorry to bother you." Sisi stood timidly at the cave entrance, a mixture of gratitude and uneasiness in her eyes. The cub in her arms clung to its mother, its dark eyes warily watching the stranger.

Luo Xi smiled and gestured for someone to come in: "Come in, it's cold outside."

Si Si stepped into the cave and was obviously surprised by the warmth inside. The tense lines on her face relaxed slightly.

"I came to thank you." Si Si hugged the child tighter, her voice soft but firm, "If you hadn't saved my partner yesterday, I can't even imagine the consequences."

Luo Xi looked at her haggard face, feeling sad: "How is his recovery?"

"The wound has stopped bleeding, but he is too weak." Sisi's voice was so low that it almost broke in the air, and her eyes fell to her feet. "I only have one partner. If he dies, my child and I will not survive the cold winter."

The cave was so quiet that only the occasional crackling of the fire could be heard.

Sisi looked around, her eyes suddenly lighting up. "Your cave is so warm. Ours is cold and damp..." She hesitated for a moment, then mustered up the courage to ask, "Can you tell me how you did it?"

Luo Xi's heart softened. She walked to the fire and motioned Si Si to come closer: "It's a very simple way to keep warm..."

She explained how to choose the right stones, how to arrange them for better heat storage, and even taught her to identify which branches would burn longer without producing irritating smoke.

Si Si listened carefully, and the despair in her eyes was gradually replaced by hope.

"Thank you! With this, we can get through this cold season," Sisi said, tears welling up in her eyes. She had given up hope. Her partner was so badly injured, he wouldn't survive the cold weather. But now things were different. With the kang and the fire wall, maybe their family could finally make it through the cold season.

Rosie was about to comfort her when she felt a gentle breeze brush the back of her neck. Falcon had stood behind them, his face expressionless, his bronze skin looking exceptionally cold and hard in the firelight.

"That's enough." He said coldly, with a hint of impatience in his voice, "It's getting dark, they should go back."
