"What is sugar?"

Luo Xi was stunned for a second, then she remembered the little gadget that Yu had refined according to her instructions. She took out a small piece of crystal clear object from the pocket of her animal skin skirt and placed it in her palm.

"this."

Falcon narrowed his eyes and leaned closer to his bronze face. The sunlight shone through the hole onto his face, outlining his firm jawline.

"What is it?" He frowned, his fingers suspended in the air, hesitating whether to touch it or not.

"Try it and you'll know." Rosie handed over the candy.

Falcon took the candy, turned it over between his fingers, and sniffed it. He raised his eyebrows sharply, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes.

“It tastes a bit like candied fruit.”

He carefully put the candy into his mouth.

The next second, Falcon's expression changed completely.

His eyes widened, shock written all over his bronze face. His Adam's apple rolled rapidly, and his eyes flashed with disbelief.

"This is--" His voice was hoarse for a moment and he couldn't speak a complete sentence.

The candy melted in his mouth, and the sweetness exploded on his tongue. Falcon had never experienced such pure sweetness before, and the feeling almost made his scalp tingle.

Rosie leaned against the cave wall, her arms folded, the corners of her mouth curled up slightly. She'd seen this reaction before. In the primitive world of orcs, sugar was a luxury.

"This is too..." Falcon swallowed a few times, his eyes still wide open, "This is too..."

He was stuck, unable to find words to describe the feeling.

"Is it delicious?" Rosie asked softly.

Falcon nodded vigorously, a childlike glint in his eyes. His fierce, cold expression vanished, leaving only pure joy and wonder.

"How...how did you do that?" His voice was low, filled with undisguised desire. "Anything else?"

Rosie smiled and pulled two more pieces from her pocket.

"The rain did it for me."

Falcon's expression suddenly became complicated. He took the candy, but didn't eat it immediately. Instead, he stared at it in a daze for a while.

"Did you teach him?"

Rosie nodded.

Falcon was silent for a moment, then put the candy into his mouth again. The sweetness once again engulfed his taste buds, but this time he was less complacent. He savored it carefully, his eyes gradually becoming more profound.

"So he's not just protecting you." Falcon suddenly spoke in a low voice, "He's also learning from you."

Rosie was stunned. She didn't expect Falcon to understand it this way.

"We help each other," she said softly.

Falcon stared at Rosie for a few seconds, his bronze face expression unreadable. He suddenly stood up and walked towards the cave entrance.

"I'm going to catch more Twisters," he said without turning around. "Can you...can you teach me how to make this? I'll give it to you after I'm done."

He almost muttered the last sentence, so quietly that it was almost inaudible.

Rosie blinked, not expecting such a change in Falcon.

"Of course," she agreed.

Falcon paused, said nothing, and strode out of the cave.

Luo Xi leaned against the cave wall and smiled. The people in this world were so naive, so easily bribed with a piece of candy. Suddenly, she remembered Yu's tense figure as he left, and a wave of worry welled up in her heart.

How serious was his injury? Why was he the only one allowed to enter that seaside cave? What were the Sea Clan?

Too many mysteries swirled in her mind, but she couldn't find the answers.

Luo Xi sighed and looked up at the cave entrance. The sun was still bright, shining into the cave, but it couldn't illuminate her confusion.

I wonder how Yu is doing now? Has his injury worsened? And that curse...

She thought of Yu's gentle, auspicious eyes, and her heart ached.

"Yu, come back soon..." Luo Xi said softly, her voice drifting in the empty cave, with no one answering.

The next morning, the hunting party returned.

Luo Xi was sitting at the entrance of the cave, basking in the sun, when she saw a few orcs carrying something towards her. She squinted her eyes and saw that it was a wounded orc, his leg covered in blood and flesh, and the wound had begun to turn black.

"Hurry up! Hurry up!" the leading orc shouted anxiously.

Luo Xi stood up and walked closer. The injured orc was pale, his body soaked with sweat, and his lips were purple, obviously the wound was infected.

A female orc followed closely behind, holding a cub in her arms, tears streaming down her face. The cub was still young, probably only two or three years old, with its big, naive eyes wide open, not understanding what was happening.

“Please save him!” the female orc cried, “He is my mate, and our cub is still so young…”

The despair in those eyes pierced Rosie's heart. She couldn't help but think of Yu. If he was also injured like this male, lying here, his life or death uncertain...

Luo Xi shook her head violently, trying to dispel the horrific image in her mind. She bit her lower lip, watching the black color spreading around the edge of the wound, knowing in her heart that without medicine, this person would surely die.

"I can try, but I can't guarantee that I can save him." Rosie looked directly into the female orc's eyes and spoke in a firm voice.

She rushed into the cave and rummaged through the animal hide bag in the corner. Her fingers moved through the various herbs, her heart racing. She had asked Yu to gather these just in case, but she had never expected them to come in handy.

"Found it!" Luo Xi held up the mugwort, her eyes sparkling.

Falcon leaned against the cave entrance, his gaze fixed on Rosie's face. Sunlight filtered through the cave, illuminating her focused profile, creating a soft outline. A strange feeling welled up in him, but he couldn't quite place it.

Luo Xi knelt beside the injured man, crushing the mugwort and adding water to make a paste. Her movements were skillful, as if she had done it countless times.

"Help me hold him down, it will hurt a little." She looked up with a firm look in her eyes.

Two orcs stepped forward to hold down the injured man's shoulders and legs. Rosie took out a small stone knife, heated it over the fire, took a deep breath, and began to cut away the black necrotic tissue.

The wounded man roared in pain and struggled violently, almost breaking free from the control of the two orcs.

"Hold it tight!" Rosie yelled, her hands moving non-stop. Two more orcs came up to help, but they still couldn't hold it down.

"I come."

Falcon strode forward, his bronzed muscles gleaming in the sun. He grasped the injured man's shoulder with one hand, his strength so great that he could barely move. He easily handled the patient who hadn't been restrained by four adult males.

Rosie looked up and met Falcon's deep eyes. She nodded, silently expressing her gratitude, then lowered her head to continue tending to the wound.

Blood gushed out, staining her fingers red. Rosie wiped them away and applied fresh wormwood paste. Sweat dripped from her forehead, dripping onto the wound, but she was oblivious.

"Please bring me some more clean water." She said without looking up.

An orc handed Rosie a water bag and she took it and used it to rinse her wound. Her fur skirt was soaked with sweat and blood and stuck to her body, but she was so focused on the task at hand that she didn't care about anything else.

Falcon stood aside, his eyes never leaving Rosie. He noticed that her fingers were shaking slightly, but she was still operating steadily.

This seemingly weak female actually has such a side to her.

As the sun set, the light in the cave dimmed. Someone lit a torch, illuminating Rosie's work area. Her face looked exceptionally pale in the firelight, but her eyes remained determined.

Finally, Luo Xi bandaged the last wound and sat on the ground, almost exhausted. The injured man's breathing became much more stable and the wound stopped bleeding.

"He needs to rest. Don't forget to change the dressing tomorrow." Rosie looked up and said to the female orc in a hoarse voice.

The female orc couldn't stop crying: "Thank you, thank you so much for saving my partner. Without you, my cub and I would..."

She choked and couldn't speak any more. The cub in her arms looked at Rosie curiously and stretched out its little hand to touch her.

Rosie forced a smile and reached out to rub the cub's head: "You're welcome, take good care of him." Her voice was gentle, but she couldn't hide her fatigue.

Falcon came over and handed Luo Xi a piece of clean animal skin: "Here."

Rosie was stunned for a moment before taking the hide. She hadn't expected Falcon to behave like this. As she wiped the blood, she noticed Falcon's gaze lingering on her.

"Thank you." Rosie said softly.

Falcon didn't answer, just nodded and turned away. But Rosie noticed that his eyes were no longer as hostile as before.

Rosie stood up, and suddenly she felt dizzy. She stumbled and almost fell.

"Be careful." Falcon came back to her side without her knowing and held her arm.

Rosie looked up and met Falcon's deep eyes. There was no longer indifference or contempt in them, but an emotion she couldn't read.
