Heart Stealer

Chapter 2 Trial voyage

After getting into trouble while fishing at sea, Wu Xin behaved himself for a while, but his restless heart soon began to stir again.

He longed to accomplish something earth-shattering to prove his worth, and hoped that his master and junior sister would see his efforts.

However, fate always seemed to play tricks on him.

Whenever he tried to demonstrate his abilities, things would often go worse, leaving him feeling frustrated and anxious.

He didn't know what the problem was or how to change the situation.

At night, when silence fell, Wu Xin often tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep all night.

He remembered that he was an orphan without parents, like duckweed in a pond, lonely, helpless and without anyone to rely on.

Whenever he woke up in the middle of the night, he couldn't help sighing and feeling sorry for himself.

"If I had a lot of money, I wouldn't have to live under someone else's roof and look up to other people..."

Wu Xin often talked to himself like this.

He knew the power of money very well. If he had enough wealth, he might have more freedom and dignity, no longer be constrained by others, and be able to do what he wanted.

Wu Xin's mind is full of ways to make money, and he is always thinking about how to make more money.

He unknowingly got closer and closer to the homeless man Aqiang.

During a casual chat, Ah Qiang accidentally revealed a shocking secret to him: far out at sea, there lay a deserted island. Legend has it that the caves on this island held a vast cache of gold and silver looted by pirates! However, the waves surrounding the uninhabited island were so turbulent that ordinary fishing boats could not even approach.

The speaker has no intention, the listener has the heart.

Wu Xin silently memorized the location of the uninhabited island. At the same time, a bold plan began to germinate quietly in his mind...

Early that morning, sunlight poured into the old captain's room through the window, illuminating every corner of the room.

The room is filled with a faint scent of tea, making people feel peaceful and comfortable.

Xiao Tuobang and Wu Xin walked into the room together and saw the old captain sitting on a chair by the window with a gentle smile on his face, as if he had been waiting for a long time.

The old captain smiled and pointed to two chairs, motioning them to sit down.

Xiao Tuobang and Wu Xin nodded gratefully, then sat down and waited quietly for the old captain's instructions.

The old captain said slowly, "Go test sail that big fishing boat tomorrow."

Xiao Tuobang and Wu Xin looked at each other, their eyes flashing with excitement.

This sea trial is of great significance to them. It is not only a test of their abilities, but also an opportunity for them to show themselves.

The old captain looked at them with trust in his eyes.

He knew that both young men had excellent sailing skills and a brave spirit, and they would definitely be able to complete the task of this trial voyage.

The old captain repeatedly warned: "You must be careful and prudent. If you encounter any problems, solve them promptly. Don't let anything go wrong with the new ship."

Xiao Tuobang and Wu Xin nodded, indicating that they would do their best.

They will prepare everything to ensure the smooth progress of the sea trial.

This sea trial is not just a simple voyage, but also a responsibility.

They must meet the challenge in their best condition and live up to the expectations of the old captain.

The old captain nodded with satisfaction, believing his two youngest apprentices were trustworthy. However, he was still a little worried because his daughter Zhang Sufang was clamoring to go with them.

"Junior sister is going too? Okay, we will take good care of her." Xiao Tuobang said.

Wu Xin also agreed, "Don't worry, old captain, we will protect her."

The old captain looked at them and felt a little relieved.

He knew that these two young men would take good care of his daughter; they were his most trusted right-hand men.

"Then I'll leave it to you." said the old captain, his eyes revealing his expectations and trust in them.

Xiao Tuobang and Wu Xin stood up and assured the old captain that they would live up to everyone's expectations.

They will go all out to complete the mission of this trial voyage.

The old captain watched them leave with a smile, he believed they would succeed.

He knew that these two young men had unlimited potential and would become future navigators.

The next morning, the golden sunlight brought a golden glow to the earth. Xiao Tuobang and Wu Xin arrived at the fishing port early.

They saw Zhang Sufang standing at the dock from afar. She was wearing a refreshing white dress. The breeze blew, and the hem of her dress fluttered gently, making her look particularly fresh and charming.

Her long hair fluttered in the wind and her face was filled with a smile of anticipation and excitement.

"Brothers, I'm ready!" Zhang Sufang shouted happily.

Xiao Tuobang walked over to her with a smile, gently stroked her head, and said softly, "Okay, let's go."

Wu Xin followed them silently, with jealousy in his eyes.

He felt uncomfortable watching Xiao Tuobang and Zhang Sufang talking and laughing, but he was good at concealing his emotions and remained calm on the surface.

The three of them boarded a large and spacious fishing boat named "Hope".

It is made of steel and painted in ocean blue, giving it a sense of calm and reliability.

The bow of the ship is raised high, like an eagle ready to spread its wings and fly high, full of power.

Xiao Tuobang skillfully operated the console, started the engine, and the fishing boat slowly sailed out of the dock and headed towards the depths of the sea.

Zhang Sufang stood excitedly at the bow, feeling the sea breeze, a bright smile on her face.

“Wow, the sea is so beautiful!” she exclaimed.

Xiao Tuobang smiled and said to her, "Yes, the sea is a magical and beautiful place. We can come here often in the future."

Zhang Sufang nodded happily, with a gleam in her eyes.

She observed the various equipment on the ship curiously and asked Xiao Tuobang questions from time to time.

"Brother Tuobang, what does this button do?" she asked, pointing to a button on the console.

Xiao Tuobang walked over and explained, "This button controls the speed of the fishing boat. It can be adjusted as needed. But we don't need to use it now. Let's keep the boat running smoothly first."

Zhang Sufang nodded, not quite understanding, to show that she understood.

Then she pointed to another button and continued, "What about this one?"

Xiao Tuobang patiently answered her questions and introduced each part and function of the ship one by one.

Zhang Sufang listened with great interest and exclaimed in surprise from time to time.

Wu Xin sat quietly by the side, watching the interaction between Xiao Tuobang and Zhang Sufang, and his jealousy grew stronger.

But he remained calm and didn't show it. He thought to himself, "Huh? It's just sailing. What's so great about that?"

Along the way, Zhang Sufang looked at everything curiously and kept asking questions.

Xiao Tuobang answered them one by one, and the two got along very well.

Wu Xin would occasionally interject a few words, but was always ignored by Zhang Sufang.

After sailing for a period of time, the "Hope" arrived at a peaceful sea.

Xiao Tuobang stopped the boat, took Zhang Sufang to the deck, and taught her how to anchor the boat.

Zhang Sufang learned quickly and mastered the technique in no time. She clapped her hands happily, satisfied with her progress.

Xiao Tuobang took out his fishing rod and bait, ready to go fishing.

Zhang Sufang came over excitedly and watched Xiao Tuobang skillfully hang the bait on the hook and then throw it into the sea.

"Wow, that's amazing!" Zhang Sufang exclaimed.

Xiao Tuobang said with a smile: "It will be more interesting when the fish is hooked later."

Sure enough, not long after, the fishing rod suddenly shook violently.

Xiao Tuobang gripped the fishing rod tightly and began to reel in the line.

A big, fat fish gradually surfaced, and Zhang Sufang cheered excitedly.

“What a big fish!” she exclaimed.

Xiao Tuobang caught the fish and put it into the fish basket.

Zhang Sufang couldn't wait to run over and see, her face full of joy.

Xiao Tuobang and Zhang Sufang enjoyed fishing together.

Wu Xin sat silently by the side, watching their happiness, he became more and more jealous.

Before I knew it, the sun was setting and the sky was filled with a gorgeous sunset.

Xiao Tuobang decided to return home and end this pleasant trial voyage.

By the time they returned to the dock, night had fallen. Xiao Tuobang and Zhang Sufang worked together to bring their catch ashore, then bid farewell to the "Hope."

“It was so much fun today!” Zhang Sufang said excitedly.

Xiao Tuobang smiled and nodded, "We'll come again next time."

Wu Xin followed them silently, thinking to himself, "Sufang is mine. No one else can marry her, including Xiao Tuobang!"

Through this trial voyage, Xiao Tuobang and Wu Xin gained a deeper understanding of the performance of large fishing boats.

"This sea trial was very successful. Let's go back and report to the old captain." Xiao Tuobang said to Wu Xin.

Wu Xin nodded in agreement, "Yes, Master will definitely be very happy."

They took Zhang Sufang to see the captain.

"Master, the sea trial was very successful!" Xiao Tuobang and Wu Xin said excitedly.

The old captain showed a satisfied smile on his face. "Well, you guys have worked hard. Sufang, did you have fun?"

"Happy! Thank you, Dad!" Zhang Sufang threw herself into the old captain's arms.

The old captain looked at them and said with satisfaction: "You are all my good children. I hope our fleet will get better and better."

About ten days after the sea trial, the old captain called Xiao Tuobang and Wu Xin to his side and asked them to go on another sea trial the next day.

Xiao Tuobang asked doubtfully, "Master, wasn't the last sea trial successful? Why do you still want to go?"

Before the old captain could reply, Zhang Sufang rushed in from outside.

She asked excitedly. "Dad, how far are we going this time?"

"Go further, kid. Last time you just circled the shallow waters, this time we are going to explore deeper waters." There was a determination in the old captain's eyes.

"That's great! I can't wait." Zhang Sufang's voice was full of anticipation.

"But be careful, the situation at sea is unpredictable." The old captain warned with concern.

"We know, Dad, don't worry!" Zhang Sufang smiled confidently.

When Xiao Tuobang heard that Zhang Sufang was also going, he felt a little reluctant.

He knew that this trial voyage might be dangerous, but it was difficult for him to directly reject the pretty girl.

He glanced at Wu Xin silently, hoping he would say something.

Wu Xin saw what Xiao Tuobang was thinking. He patted Xiao Tuobang on the shoulder and said, "It's okay. I'm here. I will protect you."

After hearing what Wu Xin said, Xiao Tuobang felt a little relieved.

He nodded and said, "Okay, then we'll leave tomorrow."

The next morning, the sun slowly rose from the sea level, casting golden light on the earth.

Xiao Tuobang, dressed in a blue sailor's uniform, came to the busy dock with his junior brother Wu Xin and junior sister Zhang Sufang in high spirits.

Their steps were brisk and firm, full of anticipation for this sea trial.

A brand new fishing boat was quietly moored on the shore, as if waiting for the warriors to steer it.

The three of them climbed onto the fishing boat along the gangway. The boat was fully equipped and emitted a faint smell of paint.

Because Xiao Tuobang was unwilling to take her out to sea for a trial voyage the day before, Zhang Sufang seemed like a different person today. She kept chatting with Wu Xin about everything and deliberately made a bad face for Xiao Tuobang.

Xiao Tuobang stood alone at the bow of the ship with a depressed look on his face, looking at the vast sea in the distance.

Just as the crew was about to untie the ropes and let the fishing boat set sail, suddenly, a familiar figure appeared on the dock - Xiao Tuobang's senior brother was waving at him vigorously.

Seeing this, Xiao Tuobang hurriedly jumped off the fishing boat and ran to his senior brother in two steps. He asked breathlessly, "Senior brother, what happened? Why are you calling me so urgently?"

The senior brother wiped the sweat from his forehead and said anxiously: "Master wants to see you and asks you to come over quickly."

Hearing this, Xiao Tuobang did not dare to delay and immediately turned around and ran towards the direction where the old captain was.

Not long after, Xiao Tuobang came to the old captain and asked anxiously, "Master, what do you want to talk to me about?"

The old captain was slightly startled, a look of surprise appeared on his face, and he replied doubtfully: "I didn't look for you, is there something wrong?"

Xiao Tuobang's heart sank, and he instantly realized something was amiss. He frowned and muttered to himself, "Then why did Senior Brother just say you were looking for me..."

Instantly, a thought flashed through his mind – could it be that all this was caused by his junior sister? It was very likely that she had deliberately let his senior brother trick her down!

At this moment, another disciple hurried over and reported loudly: "Oh no! Junior Brother Wu Xin and Junior Sister Wu Xin have already sailed out to sea!"

Xiao Tuobang's face turned pale in an instant, and he secretly groaned in his heart.

"What should we do? How can the two of them go out to sea alone? What if they encounter danger?"

The old captain patted his shoulder and said comfortingly, "Didn't everything go fine during the last sea trial? Tuobang, don't worry too much. Just let them go and try."

What the old captain said made sense, but Xiao Tuobang still couldn't suppress his inner uneasiness.

"But... I'm still worried." His voice trembled a little.

The old captain sighed and said, "I understand how you feel, but sometimes we also need to give others a chance and believe that they will succeed."

Xiao Tuobang was silent for a moment and nodded.

He decided to trust the old captain's judgment, and at the same time prayed silently in his heart, hoping that Wu Xin and his junior sister could return safely.

Zhang Sufang saw that Xiao Tuobang did not get on the boat and advised Wu Xin to return to the dock.

Wu Xin refused to listen and insisted on completing the trial voyage mission.

Suddenly, a huge wave arose on the sea and the fishing boat shook violently.

Wu Xin gripped the steering wheel tightly, trying to control the balance of the fishing boat.

Zhang Sufang screamed in fright. She grabbed Wu Xin's arm tightly, her face pale.

Wu Xin quickly comforted her, "Don't be afraid, Junior Sister, we will be fine."

Thanks to Wu Xin's efforts, the fishing boat finally stabilized.

Wu Xin breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at his junior sister and found that her eyes were still full of fear.

Wu Xin seized the opportunity and expressed his love to his junior sister.

He looked at Zhang Sufang nervously, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.

When Zhang Sufang heard this, an expression of surprise appeared on her face.

Her eyes were full of rejection. She shook her head and said softly, "I'm sorry, Brother Wu, I don't have that kind of feeling for you."

Wu Xin's face turned red instantly, and he felt that his self-esteem was seriously hurt.

He was so angry that his voice became low and hoarse: "Junior sister, don't be so ungrateful! I like you so much, and you actually rejected me?"

As he spoke, he reached out and tried to grab Zhang Sufang.

Zhang Sufang stepped back in horror, her heart beating wildly and cold sweat breaking out on her forehead.

Zhang Sufang knew that she couldn't just sit there and wait for death, she had to find a way to escape.

When Wu Xin pounced on her again, she took the opportunity to dodge and then jumped into the sea with all her strength.

The cold sea water instantly submerged her body. She swam desperately with only one thought in her mind: to escape from Wu Xin's clutches.

Zhang Sufang paddled desperately with her arms, but huge waves were almost drowning her.

Wu Xin stood on the beach and watched his junior sister jump into the sea. He felt very regretful and self-blame.

He didn't want to hurt his junior sister, but he didn't expect things to turn out like this.

Wu Xin was looking at the rough sea and trying to think of a way to rescue the people when he suddenly looked up and saw a small fishing boat rushing towards him in the distance.

He didn't care about his junior sister and hurried back to the cockpit to turn the rudder and flee the scene.
