After HP shared the dream, Lao Fu was conquered by me
Chapter 298 Project 3 (3)
As June approached, the atmosphere in the castle became tense and exciting again, and everyone was looking forward to the third competition to be held a week before the holiday.
Harry practiced spells whenever he had free time. Not only that, he took Lamia and Hermione with him. Even though Lamia said she didn't need to practice any spells, Harry felt more confident than the previous two times.
Although the race was sure to be arduous, Lamia and Harry had already navigated the massive animals and magical obstacles with ease, and this time they had been given advance notice and a chance to prepare.
Harry took Lamia all over Hogwarts for practice, including Hermione and Ron, and they met Professor McGonagall more than once, so she allowed them to use the Transfiguration classroom during lunch.
Harry quickly mastered the Impediment Charm, which could hold back attackers; the Disintegration Charm, which could blow up solid obstacles; and the Direction Charm, discovered by Hermione, which could keep his wand pointing true north so he could tell if he was going the right way in the maze.
But he had not yet fully mastered the Shield Charm, which could temporarily form an invisible wall around him. Unfortunately, Hermione cleverly broke it with a Limp Legs Charm, and Harry limped around the room for ten minutes before she found the charm to break the spell.
"You're doing well," Hermione said encouragingly, looking over her list and ticking off the spells they had already learned. "There's bound to be some that will come in handy."
"But, Lamia, are you sure you don't want to learn some? I think Hermione is a genius!" Harry put on his shoes and said excitedly to Lamia.
"I don't think so, Harry. I don't need to win the third task. I just need to ensure my own safety and the safety of..."
Lamia said vaguely.
"Oh, all right," said Harry.
"Come and see," said Ron, standing at the window, looking out at the grounds below. "What's Malfoy doing?"
Harry and Hermione hurried over to see, Lamia didn't want to go over at all. She had been trying to contact Tom recently, but it was as if he had disappeared out of thin air.
"Come on, Lamia!" Hermione pulled Lamia over, and Lamia saw Draco, Crabbe and Goyle standing under the shade of the tree.
Crabbe and Goyle seemed to be standing sentry, both grinning foolishly, while Draco spoke with his hand over his mouth.
"He looks like he's on a walkie-talkie," Harry said curiously.
"Impossible," said Hermione. "I told you, that kind of thing doesn't work in Hogwarts. How boring! Why don't we practice the Shield Charm again, Lamia? You have to learn this one at least!"
"Please, honey, I don't need it. I can run very fast. Trust me, no one will hurt me."
Lamia was helpless. She could have turned into a bat and hidden during the project, and then come out to save Cedric when he was in danger and complete the mission. This would have been perfect.
But she didn't tell Hermione about her plan, which meant that she had to practice magic spells with Harry, although she was very reluctant.
Everyone's nerves were tense as June 24th approached, but things were better than before the first and second events.
Of course, Harry was the more nervous among them. He couldn't even concentrate in Snape's class, which caused him a lot of trouble.
Lamia and Hermione kept telling Harry that he had prepared as well as he could, and that this was the last hurdle. Regardless of the result, the tournament was about to end and this big burden could be lifted.
But Harry didn't seem very encouraged and still looked very worried.
On the day of the competition, the breakfast tables of several colleges were very lively. Of course, except for Slytherin, no one would encourage Lamia, or rather, they hoped that something would happen to Lamia.
The Gryffindor owl arrived and brought Harry a lucky card from Sirius. It was just a piece of parchment folded in two with a muddy paw print on it, but Harry liked it very much.
Lamia wasn't completely destitute either, she received a brief but warm blessing from Mrs. Weasley.
Meanwhile, a screech owl brought Hermione the morning's Daily Prophet as usual. She opened the paper, glanced at the front page, and immediately sprayed a mouthful of pumpkin juice all over the paper.
"What's wrong?" Lamia and the others stared at her and asked.
"Nothing." Hermione hurriedly tried to hide the newspaper, but Ron snatched it away. He stared at the headline and said, "It can't be, today of all times, this old cow."
"What?" Harry asked. "Rita Skeeter again?"
"No." Ron wanted to hide the newspaper just like Hermione did.
"That's me, isn't it?" asked Harry.
"No," Ron said in a completely unconvincing tone.
"Can I see it then?" Lamia asked.
"Of course not!" Hermione and Ron almost tore up the newspaper.
But even so, Lamia still heard the contents of the newspaper because Hermione was not the only one reading the newspaper.
"Hey, Potter! Potter! How's your head? Are you okay? You're not going crazy on us? Oh, Lamia, I advise you to choose a more suitable boyfriend and don't let him infect you!"
Draco was also holding a copy of the Daily Prophet. The Slytherins were all sniggering and turning to see Harry's reaction.
"Show me," Harry shouted to Ron. "Show me!"
Ron handed over the newspaper reluctantly, and as Harry opened it, Lamia saw the huge headline:
Harry Potter – Distraught and Dangerous
Special Correspondent Rita Skeeter reports: The boy who defeated You-Know-Who is emotionally unstable and potentially dangerous. Shocking evidence has recently surfaced about Harry Potter's strange behavior, raising questions about his suitability for a challenging competition like the Triwizard Tournament, or even for his time at Hogwarts.
"You don't like me so much anymore, do you?" Harry folded the newspaper and said lightly.
Lamia shrugged. She was never affected by such words.
Over in Slytherin, Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle were all laughing at him, tapping their foreheads with their fingers and making mad laughs.
"She's slandering you!" Ron stood up for Rita and wanted to step on her to death.
"Don't be like this, Ron, I won't be influenced by her. Just pretend you didn't see it. It's all over soon," said Harry.
"That's very kind of you, Harry. Ron and I were very worried about you," said Hermione excitedly.
"Us? And my share?" Lamia said.
Hermione covered her mouth. "No, no, no, nothing. I think you'd better practice the Shield Charm more. Maybe it can save you."
Hermione was nervous, unlike her. Lamia became suspicious. She hadn't finished reading the report, but now she seemed to know what was in it, though she didn't plan to read it.
