Even after Snape walked away, Harry still hadn't packed his bag.

"Harry, hurry up." Lamia had turned back into human form and was standing behind Harry. She was sure that Snape had left.

Harry finally realized what was happening, slinging his bag over himself and heading for the door, "Come on, Lamia, we need to tell Hermione and Ron about this."

Lamia was shocked by Harry's speed. His backpack was empty just now, but the next second he was standing at the door with a full bag on his back, shouting at her to hurry up.

When they left the castle at noon the next day, they saw the silvery, weak sun shining on the grounds. Lamia had made an appointment with them to go to Hogsmeade together today. Although she did not have the guardian's signature, Lamia was an exception.

The weather was the warmest it had been all year, and when they reached Hogsmeade they all took off their cloaks and draped them over their shoulders, and Lamia transformed back into her human form.

They stole a dozen chicken legs, a loaf of bread, and a bottle of pumpkin juice from the lunch table.

Several people went into the Elegant Wizarding Clothing store to buy a gift for Dobby. They picked out the most colorful and exaggerated socks they could find, including a pair with a glittering pattern of gold and silver stars and a pair that would scream loudly if it got too smelly.

They were enjoying themselves very much, and at half-past one they were walking along the road past Davis-Bance towards the outskirts of the village.

The direction seemed familiar to Lamia, as the winding path led them into the wild fields surrounding Hogsmeade.

There were only a few small cabins here, but their attached grounds were large, and they walked towards the foot of the mountain where Hogsmeade village lay in the shadow.

Then, they turned a corner and saw a fence at the end of the path. Waiting for them there was a large, scruffy black dog. Its front paws were resting on the top fence, and it had a few newspapers in its mouth. The dog looked very familiar...

"Hello, Sirius," Harry said as they approached.

Lamia had completely forgotten that Sirius was coming, and only now did she remember that Harry had informed them long ago.

The black dog sniffed eagerly at Harry's bag, wagged its tail once, then turned and trotted off across a scrubby field that led down to the rocky foot of the hill.

Several people hurriedly followed.

Sirius led them all the way to the foot of the mountain. The ground here was covered with large and small stones. He walked easily because he had four paws, but Lamia and the others were soon tired and out of breath.

They followed Sirius higher and higher and began to climb up the mountain. They followed Sirius's swaying tail and climbed the winding, steep, rocky path for nearly half an hour. The scorching sun made them sweat profusely.

Lamia wanted to turn into a bat and fly over, but she held herself back.

At last Sirius vanished from sight, and when they came to the spot where he had vanished they saw a narrow cleft in the rock.

The black dog just stopped there and looked at Harry who was coming. Harry also looked back, and then the black dog transformed into his godfather.

Sirius was wearing the tattered grey robes Lamia remembered him wearing. His black hair was much longer than when she had last seen him, and it was matted and tangled again. He looked very thin.

"Chicken!" he croaked, dropping the worn Daily Prophet from his mouth onto the cave floor.

Harry quickly opened his schoolbag and handed over the bag of chicken legs and bread.

"Thank you," Sirius said, and he eagerly opened the package, grabbed a chicken leg, sat down on the ground, and tore off a large piece of chicken with his teeth. "I almost live on rats, and I can't steal much food from Hogsmeade without attracting attention."

"Hello, Sirius." Hermione greeted Ron and retreated behind Harry. After a while, Hermione coughed lightly and Lamia also greeted him. She actually wanted to pretend that she didn't exist, but it didn't matter.

However, Sirius never liked Lamia's identity as a Slytherin, but perhaps because he thought of Lamia's relationship with that group of nobles as being the same as his own, the expression on his face relaxed a lot.

"You shouldn't have come at this hour, Sirius, they'll catch you," said Harry worriedly.

There were two copies of the paper, one of which carried the headline: BARTY CROUCHE BECOMES MYSTERIOUSLY ILL; the other: MINISTRY OF MAGIC WITCH STILL MISSING – AND NOW THE MINISTER HIMSELF IS IMPICTED IN THE CASE.

Harry quickly glanced at the report on Crouch and then handed it to Lamia next to him.

Lamia didn't see it very clearly, only saw some fragments, which seemed to be that Barty Crouch was terminally ill, but the Ministry of Magic refused to acknowledge it.

"They sound like he's dying," Harry said slowly. "If he had the strength to get here, he can't be that sick..."
