After HP shared the dream, Lao Fu was conquered by me
Chapter 256: Competition (3)
"Lamia, you have to stay with me tonight. Hagrid is going to tell us about the first project." Harry took Lamia to a corner when no one was around and said mysteriously.
"About when?" Lamia silently pulled out her sleeves.
"I'll call you when the time comes." Harry looked back furtively, as if he was hiding from someone.
"Don't look at them, they must have known it a long time ago." Lamia knew very well what Harry was thinking. He just wanted to seize the initiative, but those people were the only contestants in their respective colleges, and they had more resources than Harry thought.
"Ah, really?" Harry looked at Lamia in disbelief.
Lamia nodded slightly.
Lamia had been waiting for Harry downstairs. At about eight o'clock in the evening, Lamia felt someone throwing stones at her. When she looked up, it was indeed Harry. He lifted a corner of the invisibility cloak and was waving at Lamia.
After the two met up, they walked towards Hagrid's hut. The field was pitch black, with only a little light coming from Hagrid's hut, which stood out in the darkness.
The huge carriage at Beauxbatons was also brightly lit, and when Harry knocked on Hagrid's door, he could hear Madame Maxime talking in the carriage.
"Are you here?" Hagrid whispered, opening the door and looking around cautiously.
"Yeah," said Harry, slipping into the hut with Lamia at his heels. Harry didn't pull the Invisibility Cloak over his head until Lamia was inside. "Tell us now, Hagrid."
Harry looked out the window anxiously, as if he was worried that other people would notice him, especially the Beauxbatons carriage that was very close to them.
"Let me show you something," Hagrid said mysteriously.
Hagrid looked very excited, and in his buttonhole was a flower that looked like an oversized artichoke.
He apparently stopped applying engine oil to his hair, but he certainly put a lot of effort into combing it; Lamia could even see the teeth of the comb on the top of his head.
"What are you going to show us?" Harry asked warily, pulling Lamia back. He was worried that Hagrid might have been instigated by Madame Maxime and was deliberately trying to give them false information.
Or maybe the skrewts had laid eggs, and Hagrid was trying to find a reliable adopter for them.
"Come with me, be quiet, and put the Invisibility Cloak over yourselves," said Hagrid. "We won't take Fang with us. He won't like it."
Lamia reacted for a split second, then pulled the invisibility cloak over herself and Harry, and the two followed closely behind Hagrid.
"Hagrid, listen to me, Lamia can't stay here for long. She has to be back in the castle by one o'clock, or she'll be discovered by those damn dark wizards in Slytherin."
But Hagrid didn't listen. He opened the door of the hut and strode out into the darkness. They hurried after him, and both were surprised to see that Hagrid was leading them towards the Beauxbatons carriage.
"Hagrid, what are you—"
Harry stopped in his tracks. He was panic-stricken and at the same time, feeling betrayed. "Lamia, Hagrid... Anyway, let's leave first!"
Harry pulled Lamia's hand and wanted to take her in the opposite direction, but Lamia held Harry's hand in return, pressed lightly on his palm, and signaled him to calm down and wait and see.
Harry finally sighed and paused, "At worst, the two of us can just…"
"Hush!" said Hagrid, glancing back at where Harry and Lamia were standing, and knocking three times on the door emblazoned with two crossed gold wands.
Madame Maxime opened the door. She had a silk shawl wrapped around her enormous shoulders and smiled slightly when she saw Hagrid.
"Ah, Hagrid, is it time already? Look at my memory..."
"Good evening," said Hagrid, smiling at her as he offered her a hand to help her down the golden steps.
Lamia and Harry looked at each other under the cover of the invisibility cloak. They didn't expect that in such a short time, Hagrid and Madame Maxime had become so... close.
Madame Maxime turned and closed the carriage door. Hagrid gave her his arm and together they walked around the edge of the makeshift paddock where Madame Maxime's huge winged horses were kept.
Harry and Lamia were completely bewildered, and could only trot aimlessly to keep up. What on earth was Hagrid trying to do? Why did he bring Madame Maxime with him? Wasn't she a match for them? Besides, she was so large, would she really be unnoticed?
But then Lamia discovered that Madame Maxime knew nothing either, and Hagrid hadn't told her either. The three of them were kept in the dark by Hagrid at the same time, because a moment later, Lamia heard Madame Maxime ask in a joking tone, "Where are you taking me, Hagrid?"
"You'll like it," said Hagrid gruffly. "It's worth seeing, believe me. But please don't tell anyone I brought you to see it, okay? You're not supposed to know."
"Of course, Hagrid, you must trust my character. I will certainly not tell." Madame Maxime said, her long black lashes casting a shadow under her eyes.
They were still walking, and Harry and Lamia were still trotting behind them. They really lived up to their size, walking faster than the other. Harry could not hide his irritation, and he kept checking his watch.
Hagrid's plan was too hasty. If they couldn't reach their destination soon, he was going to turn around and go straight back to the castle, leaving Hagrid to enjoy his moonlit walk with Madame Maxime alone...
But at that moment—they had walked so far around the edge of the Forbidden Forest that neither the castle nor the lake was visible.
Lamia suddenly heard some noise, several men shouting loudly in front, followed by a deafening, shrill roar.
Hagrid led Madame Maxime around a bush and stopped. Lamia quickly took Harry and followed to stand with them.
For a brief moment, Lamia thought she saw bonfires with men jumping around them—and then Harry saw it too, and his mouth dropped open in surprise.
Fire dragon.
Four fierce-looking adult dragons were confined in an area surrounded by thick planks. They supported themselves on their hind legs and roared and snorted - balls of fire shot out of their open, fanged mouths into the black night sky, their necks raised high, and their mouths raised fifty feet from the ground.
A silver-blue fire dragon with a pair of long spikes was angrily roaring at the wizards on the field. A green fire dragon with smooth scales was twisting and stomping its feet desperately. There was also a red fire dragon with a circle of strange-looking thin horns around its face, which was spraying mushroom-shaped fire clouds into the air. Finally, there was a huge black dragon that looked more like a dinosaur than the others. This dragon was closest to them.
