Sirius pushed Snape away and started asking his own questions without waiting for Snape to speak.

"It was at my suggestion that Lily and James asked you to be their Secret-Keeper," Black gritted his teeth, and spoke so fiercely that even Peter, who was half-conscious, flinched.

"I thought it was the most perfect plan... a brilliant one... Voldemort would surely come after me, never dreaming they would use a weakling like you... The moment you told Voldemort you could hand over the Potters to him must have been the proudest moment of your pathetic life."

"Am I right, Peter?" Sirius' eyes were bloodshot and frighteningly red.

"It's like this..." Peter was forced to tell the truth. He was shaking all the time and was kneeling on the chair with a dead look on his face.

Yes, Snape tied Peter to a chair in a kneeling position. Perhaps only in this way could he slightly comfort the poor man who kept apologizing in his heart when he woke up at midnight.

Sirius looked at Harry, who didn't look away. "Believe me," Sirius rasped, "believe me, I never betrayed James and Lily.

I would rather die than betray them."

Sirius turned his head back, as if speaking to himself.

Harry's throat was choked with sobs, unable to speak, he just nodded. He had always believed that his godfather would not do such a thing.

Peter seemed to see it, and he trembled even more violently, as if Harry's nod was a death sentence for him.

"You betrayed Lily and... to Voldemort," said Snape, who was also trembling. "Do you deny it?"

Peter suddenly burst into uncontrollable tears. It was a terrible sight. He looked like an oversized bald baby and was shaking in his chair.

"I did it, I did it, I am a sinner, but the Dark Lord... you don't know... his weapons are beyond your imagination... I was scared, Sirius, and I have never been as brave as you, Lupin, and James. I never did it on purpose... He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named forced me..."

Perhaps the potion suddenly lost its effect, Peter temporarily regained consciousness and began to excuse himself, but no one present believed what he said. They stopped talking and waited until Snape gave Peter two more bottles of Veritaserum.

"Don't lie!" Black roared. "You've been passing information to him for a year, before Lily and James died! You're his spy!"

Sirius couldn't hold back his anger and punched Peter on the head, breaking half of his front teeth.

Peter grimaced in pain and gasped, "I did all this. I betrayed my friends for my own selfish desires."

"Damn you!" said Blake, with a frightening look of rage on his face.

Snape's aura became colder and colder, and his eyes were filled with murderous intent, as if he wanted to kill Peter right now.

"I am going to kill you!"

It was the first time that Lamia saw Snape like this. Although he often had a gloomy face, he had never scared her as much as he did now. The murderous intent in him was so strong that Lamia could feel it clearly.

"No!" Harry shouted, and he rushed forward, standing in front of Peter Pettigrew, facing the two wands. "You can't kill him," he said, his breath catching. "You can't."

Sirius and Lupin were both shocked.

Snape completely ignored him and began to chant a spell.

"No!" Harry actually grabbed Snape's wand.

"Get out of here!" Snape's eyes seemed to be filled with poison.

"Harry, this villain caused you to lose your parents," Sirius roared. He now thought the same as Snape. They must kill this traitor. "This servile and dirty guy will not be moved by watching you die. He would even kill everyone for a little selfish desire."

"I understand," Harry gasped. "We take him to the castle. We hand him over to the Dementors and he can go to Azkaban. Just don't kill him."

"Harry!" Peter gasped. He had almost regained consciousness. He could only say that the potions Snape had chosen were not very effective. He wanted to stretch out his arms to hug Harry's knees, but he couldn't break free from the ropes. He could only express his gratitude with his eyes, but this look was too disgusting to Harry. "You - thank you, you are doing me a favor, thank you..."

"Let me go," Harry spat, backing away in disgust. "I'm not doing this for you. I'm doing this because I don't think my dad would want his best friend killing someone - especially someone like you."

No one moved or made a sound except Peter. Maybe there was a cold snort from Snape, but Lamia felt that she was the only one who heard it.

Lamia saw that Snape clearly wanted to kill Peter according to his own ideas, but he didn't know what he saw, so he suddenly retracted his wand and tried his best to suppress the anger in his heart.

Peter clutched his chest, gasping for air, and Sirius and Lupin looked at each other. After a moment, Sirius lowered his wand.

"You are the only one who has the right to decide, Harry," said Dumbledore.

"But, Harry, think about it, think about what he has done..." said Sirius.

"He can go to Azkaban," Harry continued. "If anyone should go there, it's him—"

Peter was still breathing heavily behind him.

"Very good," said Lupin. "Stand aside, Harry."

Harry hesitated.

"I'm going to tie him up," said Lupin. "That's all I mean. I swear."

Lamia looked over and saw that Peter had indeed used his claws to grind a tiny notch in the rope. They were probably the only two people present who noticed it.

Harry didn't see it, but he moved out of the way all the same, and this time it was strips that shot out from Lupin's wand, and soon Peter was bound and gagged, writhing on the floor.

"But if you transform, Peter," Sirius growled, pointing his own wand at Peter again, "we'll kill you. Don't you agree, Harry?" Harry looked down at the poor thing on the floor and nodded so Peter could see.

Lupin tied Peter up like a dumpling, kicked him on the back and drove him out until he was completely out of the principal's office.

"Children, go back to bed now. I hope you don't have classes tomorrow." Dumbledore smiled kindly, "Perhaps you can ask for leave."
