Long River Eternity

Chapter 4: Battle of the Double-Headed Eagle

In a moment, the three giant eagles were less than ten meters away from Teacher Li.

"Ah!!!!" The leading Hidden Origin Realm giant eagle let out a deafening roar, the sound waves tearing through the air like a sharp blade. Then, it flapped its massive wings violently, bringing with it a gust of wind.

Upon closer inspection, the Hidden Origin Realm giant eagle was completely different from the others. Its feathers actually had a cold, metallic sheen, like a natural armor. As its wings flapped, a dozen knife-sharp feathers, accompanied by a gust of wind, whistled towards Teacher Li and the car.

"Ding! Ding! Ding!" The feathers struck the car, making a crisp sound, leaving only a few white spots on the body. Clearly, the material of this car was extraordinary.

At the same time, another group of feathers headed straight for Teacher Li. However, Teacher Li was nimble and light-footed, like a nimble cheetah, and easily dodged these deadly attacks.

At the moment when Teacher Li dodged the feathers, two Class A giant eagles pounced in front of him like lightning, spread their wings, swooped down, and attacked from both sides. Their sharp beaks were like four sharp daggers, piercing Teacher Li's chest.

Teacher Li firmly planted himself in a horse stance, lowered his waist, and quickly leaned back, narrowly avoiding the giant eagle's attack. Just as the eagle flew past, he seized the opportunity, clenched his fists, and like two shooting stars, he fiercely smashed them into the eagle's abdomen. The powerful blow sent the giant eagle, which had been flying backward, crashing into the sky, letting out a shrill cry.

Without giving the two giant eagles a chance to breathe, Teacher Li stood firmly, condensed a fireball in each hand, and threw it at the giant eagle.

There was a deafening roar from the sky, and then two giant eagles fell from the sky like kites with broken strings, hitting the ground heavily and losing their life in an instant.

The process seemed complicated, but in reality, life and death depended on a matter of moments. The students in the car erupted in cheers as they watched Teacher Li dispatch two giant eagles simultaneously in the blink of an eye.

Only Teacher Li knew that he had only dealt with two small fry, and the real problem was the giant eagle in the Hidden Yuan Realm that was swooping down on him.

A sudden gust of wind swept in, accompanied by the giant eagle's two-meter-long wings, which gleamed with a metallic sheen and were as sharp as knives. Teacher Li, fearing a direct confrontation, quickly leaped back, simultaneously flicking his wrist and hurling two blazing fireballs. The fireballs traced dazzling arcs through the air, but the giant eagle deflected them with its wings, and the immense power only knocked it back a few meters, failing to cause any substantial damage.

Seeing this, Teacher Li frowned and secretly thought of a countermeasure in his mind.

But the giant eagle did not intend to give him a chance to breathe. It pounced on him again and attacked him continuously. Teacher Li was beaten back step by step.

Although Teacher Li was a realm higher than the Giant Eagle, he was limited by his fear of leaving the convoy. Furthermore, these behemoths were inherently stronger than humans. For a moment, neither side could do anything to the other. Teacher Li could only leap back and forth across the four car roofs, tugging at the Giant Eagle.

In the car, Lin Ding looked at the roof of the car churning and the two sides fighting fiercely, feeling extremely anxious.

At the same time, he looked around and noticed that the convoy had already left the original forest. Furthermore, three hours had already passed since they set out. His parents had taken him to Ruins 0 several times when he was a child, so he knew the convoy should have already entered the ruins. There should be someone in the area to meet people coming and going. Furthermore, even though the fighting was so intense over there, Teacher Li, there was complete silence all around.

As the convoy advanced, Mr. Li, though agile and able to dodge all attacks, was already panting, and his movements were no longer as light and graceful as they had been at the beginning. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead, and it was clear that his strength was rapidly draining away.

The giant eagle, meanwhile, circled in the sky above the convoy, its piercing eyes fixed on Teacher Li. From time to time, it swooped down, its claws striking him with lightning speed. Each strike was precise and ferocious, as if engaged in a war of attrition. Its feathers gleamed metallically in the sunlight, and its wings whistled through the air, bringing with them waves of intense pressure.

After narrowly dodging another attack, Teacher Li's eyes suddenly became firm. He took a deep breath and tried to calm his rapid breathing.

He knew he couldn't keep wasting time like this. Director Tang hadn't caught up yet, and something must have happened at the ruins, delaying the arrival of reinforcements. If he continued wasting time like this, defeat was inevitable. He had to inflict heavy damage on the Giant Eagle during its next attack.

"Come again, you beast!" Teacher Li shouted angrily towards the sky.

"Ouch!" As if in response, the giant eagle let out a piercing cry and swooped down, its sharp claws flashing with a cold light. It aimed directly at Teacher Li's heart. Teacher Li's body tensed as a string, her legs slightly bent, ready for a final stand. The air seemed to rip as the giant eagle drew closer, and Teacher Li's eyes grew more determined.

The moment the two made contact, Teacher Li leaned slightly to the side, and the giant eagle's sharp claws slashed across his body, leaving several deep scars visible to the bone. He gritted his teeth, enduring the excruciating pain, and leaped onto the giant eagle's back. He raised his gleaming golden fist high and smashed it hard into the eyes of one of the giant eagle's heads. The force was so great that the entire fist was lodged in the eye socket.

"Ouch!" the giant eagle let out a shrill cry, twisting its body wildly and soaring into the air. Teacher Li, having first received a heavy blow, then used all his strength to deliver a final blow. Already exhausted, he was quickly flung out, landing heavily on the ground, struggling to stand.

The giant eagle, though severely wounded, still possessed two heads. It circled in the sky for a moment, its eyes gleaming with ferocity as it swooped down upon Teacher Li once more, determined to finish him off. Teacher Li lay motionless on the ground, his heart filled with resentment and anger. His eyes held a hint of despair, but more so, an unyielding fighting spirit.

Seeing that the giant eagle was about to arrive in front of him and tear him into pieces in the next second, he looked at the car that was still moving forward, and used up his last bit of strength to force himself to hold up his body to meet this final blow.

"No!" All the students in the car roared in unwillingness. Some students even shed tears and lowered their heads, not daring to look at what was going to happen next.

Just when the giant eagle was right in front of him, a beam of light came from a distance and instantly submerged half of the giant eagle's body. "Evil beast, die!"

The beam of light was accompanied by a deafening roar.

When the beam of light dissipated, only the lower half of the giant eagle remained, collapsed limply on the ground.
