"Have you decided not to take action?" A cold voice came from the darkness, clear and full of provocation.

Su Ming didn't reply immediately, simply continuing to clutch the confidential document. He could sense a chilling aura creeping in from all directions. The enemy was slowly closing in, as if sensing his unease. The enemy wouldn't let him go easily, and he wouldn't let the document fall into their hands so easily.

"If I told you the importance of this document, what would you do?" Su Ming finally spoke, his voice low and magnetic, yet tinged with a hint of mockery. The corners of his mouth curled up slightly, as if he already had a strategy in mind.

The other person remained silent for a moment, seemingly pondering Su Ming's underlying meaning. Then, only the muffled sound of footsteps echoed in the air. "Do you think these threats will work against me?" the man sneered. "What you should be most concerned about right now is how to save your own skin."

Su Ming closed his eyes slightly, trying to clear his mind. Life might seem paramount at certain moments, but at this moment, he knew that keeping this document safe was his primary concern. He couldn't let this document, holding all the clues, fall into the hands of the enemy, or all his efforts, all his calculations, would be in vain. His mission wasn't just to survive, but to bring the truth out of that darkness.

"I see you're still preoccupied with other matters." The enemy's voice became especially sharp, as if he had seen through Su Ming's inner turmoil. "Do you know? The document in your hand is destined to be your final resting place."

Su Ming didn't argue, his gaze cold and fixed on the front. His heart wasn't shaken by the threat; instead, it became even more resolute. All the pressure, all the hostility, seemed to become the driving force behind his actions. No matter what, he would never allow this document to be taken away from him.

As the footsteps drew closer, Su Ming crouched down slightly, trying to conceal himself in the shadows. He knew the enemy had already set their sights on him. Although he hadn't yet revealed his whereabouts, their spies were already covering every corner of the building. This was a dead end, a trap set by Zheng Yaoxian long ago. He was just a pawn, poised to be captured at any moment.

"You're not as strong as you thought." Suddenly, the man appeared in front of Su Ming, with a cold smile and disdain in his eyes. "Do you think you can escape? That document is destined to be your death."

Su Ming sneered coldly and stepped back lightly, his body sliding silently in the darkness. His hand was still tightly gripping the confidential document on his chest, almost deforming it, but he knew in his heart that the safety of this document was the key to his life and death.

"You want to get it?" Su Ming's tone suddenly became cold and icy. "Then give it a try."

With that, he suddenly leaped to his feet, lunging at the man like a beast. The enemy had clearly not anticipated Su Ming's drastic reaction, and in the moment he was slow to react, his fist, like a sword, struck him in the face with astonishing force. The enemy instinctively retreated, attempting to evade, but was unable to fully escape. Seizing the opportunity, Su Ming closed in, pushing the enemy back with force, then spun sharply, shoving him against the wall.

"Now, do you understand?" Su Ming asked in a low voice, his eyes no longer calm, but full of determination. "I'm not afraid of you."

The enemy scrambled to his feet, a trickle of blood oozing from the corner of his mouth, his eyes filled with anger and resentment. "You thought you could escape so easily?" he gritted his teeth, his voice full of menace. "The thing you're protecting will surely become the source of your own destruction."

"You are wrong." Su Ming's voice was as cold as ice, and his eyes flashed with a determined light. "You will never know the true meaning of this document."

He turned around, his mind constantly pondering his next move. He had to escape this blind spot as quickly as possible and find a chance to preserve the documents. Behind all this, there was undoubtedly a silent war. The enemy had not given up pursuit, and he had no time to waste.

He knew in his heart that every step forward would be a life-or-death struggle. No matter what, he had to protect this confidential document and bring the secrets within it out of this dark place.

"Do you think you have time for anything?" the enemy spoke again, this time with a hint of sarcasm in his tone. "You don't deserve to live."

"I will survive." Su Ming's eyes were firm, his words as hard as iron, "As long as this document is still in my hands."

Su Ming's body was almost tense, his mind constantly running through various possible strategies, looking for a chance to escape. However, despite the threatening air around him and the possibility of being surrounded by enemies at any moment, an unusual idea suddenly emerged in his mind.

"Bone soup." He murmured softly.

This thought suddenly and without warning flooded into his mind. Su Ming himself didn't even fully understand why such a thought had occurred to him at this critical moment. It was a feeling of warmth and peace, as if in a world filled with conspiracy and danger, he had suddenly found a refuge where he could temporarily put aside all his worries.

Bone broth, a simple and ordinary food, with a rich aroma, always brings a sense of incomparable peace. Every time he takes a sip, the steaming hot broth enters his throat, as if nourishing his entire body, dispelling the fatigue and depression deep within. It is the only moment of peace he can find in his busy daily life.

He suddenly stopped, a subtle change of expression flashing across his eyes. The enemy was still approaching, but at this moment, an image had already emerged in his mind: a bowl of steaming bone soup, tiny chopped green onions floating on the white surface, the aroma overflowing. The warm liquid slid from his lips, as if all his troubles had dissipated with the broth, leaving only comfort and satisfaction.

His hand unconsciously touched his stomach, although it was not because he was physically hungry, but because of a certain emptiness in his heart, a long-hidden desire that was aroused at this moment.

"Why would I think about this?" Su Ming sighed softly, trying to suppress this sudden thought. But he knew that his mind had already deviated from the normal state of combat and had become extremely scattered.

He had drunk that bowl of soup alone on countless lonely nights, enjoying the rare peace. Those days were few, but every meal of bone soup became a part of his memory, and every sip brought a little warmth.
