Spy Wars: Strong Agents Who Are Ruthless and Talk Little

Chapter 121 "Other forces? Who are they?"

Su Ming gradually discovered that undercurrents seemed to be surging within the Borri Group. Many seemingly ordinary employees were engaging in unusual activities behind the scenes. These activities concealed a larger conspiracy, and his mission was far more complex than it seemed. Su Ming quietly infiltrated a confidential company archive room. He needed to find more evidence linking the Borri Group to industrial espionage. In the dim light of the archive room, he quickly flipped through the sealed documents, his eyes focused and his fingers moving swiftly.

Suddenly, he heard light footsteps outside the door and immediately became alert. He quickly closed the file in his hand and quietly hid behind a row of bookshelves, holding his breath and waiting quietly.

The door was gently pushed open, and a slender figure walked in. Su Ming saw the person clearly through the gap in the bookshelf. It was Xia Xiaotong.

"Why is she here?" Su Ming's heart tightened, and his alertness instantly reached its highest point. He gripped his phone tightly, ready to take action if necessary.

Xia Xiaotong walked into the archives room, seemingly unaware of Su Ming's presence. She gently closed the door, walked to the filing cabinet on the other side, and began rummaging through something. Su Ming's mind raced, realizing this was no coincidence; Xia Xiaotong had clearly come prepared.

A few minutes later, Xia Xiaotong found what she was looking for, carefully stuffed a document into her bag, and prepared to leave. Just as she turned around, Su Ming walked out of the darkness and blocked her way.

"What are you doing here so late?" Su Ming's voice was low and questioned with an unquestionable tone.

Xia Xiaotong was obviously startled and took a step back involuntarily, but she quickly regained her composure and smiled slightly, "I... I just came to get some information."

"Get the information?" Su Ming stared at her, clearly not believing her. "This isn't an ordinary data room. What are you looking for?"

Xia Xiaotong was silent for a moment, as if she was thinking of a solution. She knew that Su Ming in front of her was not someone to be trifled with. "Su Ming, aren't you here too? What are you looking for?"

Su Ming did not answer immediately, but instead asked, "What do you think?"

The two stared at each other, the air thick with tension. Su Ming could sense that Xia Xiaotong was definitely hiding a hidden secret, and that she was very likely directly connected to this case of industrial espionage.

"I know who you are." Xia Xiaotong suddenly spoke in a low voice, as if announcing a fact that had already been established.

Su Ming was slightly stunned, but his expression remained calm. "What do you know?"

"You are not an ordinary employee, right?" Xia Xiaotong said slightly.

Su Ming disguised himself as an ordinary office worker in the city, his figure slender and elongated by the neon lights. He walked home, his steps steady and light, like an ordinary office worker. However, only he knew that the taut string in his heart never relaxed.

Entering the elevator, Su Ming pressed his own floor. He looked up slightly, gazing at the reflective metal walls, where his weary face was reflected. This expression was almost identical to the one he displayed in the office: a moderate distance, an occasional smile, and a professional aloofness. This was merely part of his facade; the real him had long since lost touch with the ordinary citizens of this city.

The elevator doors opened, and Su Ming stepped out, his steps steady and expressionless. He was greeted by a simply furnished apartment, clean and tidy, devoid of any unnecessary decoration. Su Ming closed the door, casually hung his coat on the hanger behind it, and walked straight into the living room. His fingers swiped across his phone screen, and several encrypted messages flashed before his eyes.

"New instructions," Su Ming muttered to himself, his gaze lingering on the screen for a moment before quickly memorizing the information. He turned off his phone, placed it on the table, and fell into deep thought.

The mission involves tracking a foreign man suspected of being involved in a multinational company's confidential information leak. On the surface, this mission isn't complicated, but in this business, seemingly simple tasks often conceal deeper dangers.

He stood up from the sofa and walked to the bedroom closet. Opening the door, Su Ming's eyes swept over the neatly arranged clothes. He picked out a black jacket and put it on skillfully, then walked to the mirror to examine himself. In a black jacket, dark jeans, and a baseball cap pulled low, Su Ming seemed to blend into the city night, unnoticeable.

"Let's take action tonight." He said to himself in the mirror, his voice low and firm.

However, just as he turned to leave, his phone suddenly rang. Su Ming frowned, picked up the phone, and saw an unusual number on the screen. He hesitated for a moment, then answered the call.

"Su Ming, it's me." A familiar voice came from the other end of the phone. Su Ming's heart sank slightly. It was Lin Rou, one of Shadow Blade's intelligence agents and his most trusted partner.

"What's the matter?" Su Ming's voice remained calm, but he was mentally prepared for some unusual news.

"Your target tonight has changed." Lin Rou's voice was filled with anxiety. "We have received new intelligence. The man may not be the one you are looking for. More importantly, there may be other forces approaching him. You must be careful."

Su Ming's brows furrowed even more tightly. "Other forces? Who are they?"

"It's unclear at the moment, but they're likely agents from a competing organization." Lin Rou paused, lowering her voice. "This situation may be much more complicated than we anticipated."

Su Ming nodded silently, but his mind was already racing. He knew that the information the Shadow Blade Organization could provide was often limited, and he had to rely on his own judgment and actions to deal with any unexpected events.

"I understand," Su Ming replied briefly, then hung up the phone. He picked up the car keys from the table and quickly left the apartment.

The city was still ablaze with lights at night. Su Ming drove his car, weaving through the streets, his eyes fixed on the road ahead, not missing any suspicious movement. His target was an upscale hotel in the city center, a popular destination for the city's diverse cast of characters. It was also the location of his mission tonight.

Arriving near the hotel, Su Ming parked his car in a secluded corner and then walked to his destination. He deftly circumvented the security cameras and quietly entered through the hotel's side door. The luxurious interior contrasted sharply with the hustle and bustle outside. Everything seemed so peaceful, but this peace seemed strange to Su Ming.
