Chapter 64: Mysterious Help Appears
Mysterious help appears at dawn
I saw a blurry figure gradually emerge in the center of the surging breeze. Shrouded in a soft light, I couldn't make out its face, but judging by its form, it looked like an elderly man. He didn't speak, simply standing there quietly, yet he seemed to be in control of everything.
I felt the power surge within me grow stronger, threatening to burst through my body. I tried to mobilize this strength, but was surprised to find that the magic that had previously bound me shattered easily like fragile spider silk. I stood up suddenly, and the ropes on my body broke and fell to the ground.
"Yaoyao!" Hao Yang shouted in surprise. The injuries on his body seemed to have improved under the nourishment of this power, and he was trying hard to stand up.
I immediately rushed to his side and supported his shaky body. "How are you?" I asked anxiously, my eyes scanning the scars on his body, heartbroken.
"I'm fine," Hao Yang forced a smile, "This power... is incredible."
We exchanged glances, each seeing shock and confusion in the other's eyes. Where did this mysterious power come from? And who was that old man?
Hao Shuang looked at us, his face turning even paler. He had already dropped his sword, and now he was staring at the old man in horror, his body trembling slightly. He seemed to realize something, and a flicker of despair flashed in his eyes.
"This... this is impossible!" He muttered to himself, his voice hoarse, "This power... could it be..."
He didn't continue, but his expression said it all. This power was clearly beyond his comprehension and control.
I helped Hao Yang slowly stand up and turned my gaze back to the old man. He still stood there quietly, as if nothing had to do with him. But I knew that all of this was closely related to him. This mysterious power came from him.
"Thank you," I bowed deeply to the old man, my voice filled with gratitude. Although I didn't know who he was or why he helped us, I knew that he saved us and gave us hope to fight back.
The old man nodded slightly, but said nothing. He simply waved his hand, and the breeze surged even stronger, enveloping Hao Yang and me.
I felt this power continuously flowing into my body, repairing my damaged meridians and increasing my strength. I clenched my fists, feeling the power filling my body, and a raging fighting spirit ignited in my heart.
"Hao Shuang," I turned to look at Hao Shuang with cold eyes, "the game is over."
Hao Yang also stood up straight, staring at Hao Shuang with a firm gaze, his fists clenched tightly.
The old man still stood there quietly, looking at us, a barely perceptible smile flashing in his eyes. He slowly raised his hand...
The old man slowly raised his hand and pointed at Wei Qing and Wei Xue, who stood frozen in fear. The gentle light instantly shifted to them, like an invisible yoke, firmly imprisoning them. They struggled in terror, unable to move. The expressions on their faces shifted from initial surprise to disbelief, and finally to deep fear.
Wei Qing screamed at the top of her lungs, "This is impossible! Why? Why are you..." Her voice trailed off as she found it difficult to even speak. Wei Xue wasn't much better. Her face was pale, her lips trembling, but she couldn't utter a single word. They stared at Hao Yang and me, their eyes filled with jealousy and resentment, yet they felt helpless.
Seeing this, Hao Shuang's face darkened even further. Unconvinced, he raised his sword again and lunged at me. However, this time, I felt incredibly light, as if I could predict the trajectory of his attack. I easily dodged sideways, then struck him in the chest with a backhanded palm.
Hao Shuang groaned and stumbled back a few steps. He stared at me in disbelief, his eyes filled with shock and confusion. He had never imagined that I could so easily dodge his attacks and even counterattack. He had originally thought that even if Hao Yang and I were blessed with mysterious powers, we wouldn't be able to become so powerful all of a sudden.
"You..." Hao Shuang pointed at me, his tone filled with anger and resentment, "You cheated!"
I sneered, ignoring his impotent rage. I attacked again, this time channeling all the mysterious power surging within me into my palm. A dazzling light emanated from my palm, like a miniature sun.
"Try this!" I shouted and slapped Hao Shuang with my palm.
Hao Shuang had no time to dodge and was hit by my palm force. He flew backwards and fell heavily to the ground. He groaned in pain and struggled to stand up, but found that he had lost the ability to move.
I didn't pursue him, but walked over to Hao Yang and supported him. I looked at the scars on his body and felt heartbroken.
"Are you okay?" I asked softly.
"I'm fine," Hao Yang shook his head with a smile on his face, "We won."
I nodded, looking at Wei Qing and Wei Xue, still imprisoned, and Hao Shuang, lying on the ground groaning in pain. I knew we had won this battle. But this was only the beginning; we still had a long way to go.
The old man stood there quietly, looking at us. A flicker of approval flashed in his eyes, and then he slowly said, "You did a great job."
His voice was deep and rich, and seemed to carry some kind of magic that made people want to surrender involuntarily.
I bowed to him again to express my gratitude. "Thank you, may I ask who you are..."
The old man shook his head and interrupted me. "Now is not the time."
After he finished speaking, he turned and left, his figure gradually disappearing in the breeze.
I looked in the direction the old man had disappeared, my heart filled with confusion. What exactly was this mysterious power? Who was this old man? Why was he trying to help us?
"Yaoyao," Hao Yang's voice interrupted my thoughts, "What should we do next?"
I took a deep breath and looked at Hao Yang. I knew we still had a lot to do. We couldn't rely on this mysterious power forever. We needed to find more power, or a way, to completely defeat the villain.
"We..." I was about to speak when I suddenly sensed a strong sense of danger. I turned around and looked into the distance... a dark figure was flying towards us at a rapid speed.
Alarm bells rang in my heart, the palpitating pressure even stronger than before. Without time to dwell, I pulled Hao Yang over, and the mysterious power within me surged once more, enveloping us and forming a barrier. Almost instantly, a powerful shockwave, accompanied by a sharp gust of wind, slammed into the spot where we had just stood.
As the smoke and dust cleared, a figure in a black robe, his face hidden by a hood, slowly emerged. He exuded an icy aura, as if emanating from the depths of hell, sending shivers down his spine.
"Who is it?" I protected Hao Yang behind me, stared vigilantly at the man in black in front of me, and asked in a deep voice.
The man in black didn't say anything, only sneered, as if mocking my presumptuousness. He slowly raised his hand, and an even more powerful force gathered in his palm, and the air around him seemed to solidify.
"Be careful!" I felt an unprecedented sense of danger. The strength of this force was far beyond our imagination. Without time to think, I pushed the mysterious power in my body to its limit, while holding Hao Yang tightly in my arms.
"boom!"
There was another loud bang, and the violent shockwave made my blood surge. My throat felt sweet, and a mouthful of blood rushed up. I quickly used my energy to suppress the surging blood, but found that the man in black had disappeared.
"Yaoyao!" Hao Yang held me up and looked at the blood at the corner of my mouth with concern. "How are you?"
I shook my head, signaling I was fine, but my eyes continued to scan the surroundings with vigilance. Even though the men in black had temporarily retreated, it didn't mean the danger was over; on the contrary, it was more like a terrifying signal.
"We have to leave here as soon as possible," I said in a deep voice, "It's no longer safe here."
Hao Yang also understood the seriousness of the matter, nodded, and helped me to leave.
"Want to go?"
A cold voice came from behind us, with undisguised murderous intent.
My heart sank, and before I could even look back, I felt a powerful force holding us down, preventing us from moving.
"Where do you think you can escape to?" The man in black slowly walked up to us, his tone full of teasing and mockery. "Today, I'll show you what true power is!"
After saying that, he suddenly raised his hand, and a devastating force gathered in his palm, aiming directly at me and Hao Yang...
"Are we really going to die here today?" I closed my eyes in despair, but the figure of the old man suddenly flashed through my mind.
"No, there must be another way!" I suddenly opened my eyes and looked at Hao Yang, "Do you still remember that mysterious power?"
Hao Yang was stunned for a moment, then his eyes lit up as if he had thought of something.
"You mean..."
I nodded, without having time to explain, "Now, we can only give it a try!"
