Chapter 377: Ascension to God (End of the Lord of the Rings World)

As Sauron's lair, Mordor undoubtedly achieves the ultimate in defense and attack. Surrounded on three sides by mountains, it's backed by the Mountains of Shadow and the Mountains of Ash, with only a narrow pass in the middle, where a fortress has been built and the City of Hex stands. Another mountain pass leading into Mordor is even more dangerous: the Spider Pass. In it dwells the giant spider Shelob, the last scion of the ancient evil spirit Ungoliant, eager to satisfy his ravenous desire to devour all living things.

But beneath the two massive Titan arks, the City of Hex was no longer an impenetrable fortress. Even though Sauron had deployed all nine Nazgûl (Ringwraiths) and the armies of Mordor to defend it, you still easily breached it. The Witch-king of Angmar, leader of the Ringwraiths, wielded a flaming sword and a mace, and rode a dragon-like beast corrupted by evil. He could wield magic to devastating effect. But it was nothing before you. With a simple raise of your hand, the dense darkness channeled from the dark puppet Osiris bound the Ringwraiths to their spot, rendering them captive.

The subsequent battle went on with remarkable ease. After only six days, Sauron, who had been hiding in Dol Guldur, had nowhere to hide and was forced to surrender.

Although Sauron is known for his capriciousness in the world of The Lord of the Rings, you still accepted his allegiance. You could see that after losing his physical body, Sauron was very interested in a mechanical body. Furthermore, you received from Sauron all nine human rings and six of the seven dwarven rings, but you didn't keep them, using them as experimental material for research.

"I have to say that Sauron is a man of great shrewdness. After following you back to Iron Mountain, he was the quickest of the captives to adopt Chinese characters. He even offered to assist you in analyzing the Nazgûl and the crafting techniques of the Ring. As a thousand-year-old demon who has lived for over 6000 years, his knowledge is so profound that even you cannot match it."

In April 2798, after Sauron joined, you took the initiative to form a Council of Knowledge, inviting the most knowledgeable people in all of Middle-earth to join. The current members are you, Saruman, Sauron, and Thranduil. Saruman also invited Gandalf, but he declined. In his opinion, a righteous person should not associate with Sauron.

Meanwhile, in Azeroth, your progress has also delighted you. Through financial aggression and gentle tactics, you have recruited the human mage Aegwynn—rumored to be the most powerful human mage in Azeroth's history. However, even she couldn't resist the allure of technology and knowledge, and joined the Council of Knowledge.

With the help of these five people, you've moved closer to the end of wisdom, gaining a deeper understanding of the essence of life. You've also gained a profound understanding of some methods for crafting extraordinary equipment. You feel there's still much to learn on the road ahead. You've learned the life skill: Crafting Ritual Clothing (Elementary).

After conquering Mordor, you turned your attention to other nations, rapidly expanding your territory and gradually unifying Middle-earth. During this time, you did not personally lead the campaigns, but instead launched attacks with the dragon Smaug as your vanguard, and Sauron, Saruman, and the Nazgûl as your minions.

By the end of 2799, your sights finally settled on Gondor and Rohan. This time, not only did you personally lead the expedition aboard the Titan Ark, but you also assembled your elite forces and simultaneously declared war on both nations. You believed that the elves, as staunch allies of the human kingdom, would not sit idly by, and perhaps you could achieve your goal in one fell swoop.

The two mutually dependent human kingdoms of Gondor and Rohan are not considered powerful today. Centuries ago, after the disappearance of Eärnur, the last king of Gondor, the House of the Steward assumed regency, and Gondor was in chaos. But in the face of you, Gondor resolutely put aside its internal strife, even reforging the sword Narsil, broken in the fight against Sauron, intent on fighting to the bitter end. This is the origin of the saying, "The day the broken sword is reforged, the knight returns."

Therefore, when the war began, the resistance you encountered was unprecedentedly fierce. The bravery of the Gondorians and the cavalry of the Rohan were both impressive. Then, as you expected, Elrond, the elven ruler of Rivendell, and Galadriel, the ruler of Lolthlórien in the Golden Forest, arrived on the battlefield.

Elrond and Galadriel possess the Wind Ring, Veya, and Water Ring, Nanya, respectively, of the Three Rings of the Elven Lords. Their power is immense. Galadriel was the most powerful Elf in Middle-earth during the Third Age, and once a leader of the Noldor in rebellion against the Lord God. But it is clear that any resistance is unnecessary in your presence; a single thought from you is enough to cause their ranks to crumble.

[And you did just that. You easily destroyed the Gondorian defenses and captured the Regent King Denethor. The so-called Holy Sword of Narsil was nothing to you, and you broke it with ease.]

Your men, Smaug, Sauron, and Saruman, are all leaders in Middle-earth, not to mention the numerous professionals from Azeroth. Aegwynn is an insurmountable obstacle for them... The war lasted for over ten hours, with bows, arrows, and blades clashing and artillery roaring. This was a bloody battle unprecedented in Middle-earth.

[In the end, Denethor, the Prime Minister and Regent of Gondor, was killed, Elrond, Lord of Rivendell, was seriously wounded and fled, and Galadriel, the Elf Queen, was captured. Only one in ten enemies survived the entire battlefield. But it was all worth it. After this battle, you have undoubtedly unified all of Middle-earth!]

On January 2800, 1, you finally chose to ascend the throne in human form, becoming the King of Kings in Middle-earth. From this moment on, the Cult of the Adeptus Mechanicus you founded became the sole religion in Middle-earth, and you will receive constant worship from your subjects day and night. Of course, upon becoming King of Kings, you also coined a new foreign word: Emperor. From then on, this foreign word became the highest title that kings in Middle-earth aspired to hold. (You achieved the milestone: First Emperor.)

From 2800 to 2840, after becoming Emperor, you, through emulating the legendary Emperor, standardized the written language, weights and measures, and currency. You confiscated and burned all useless books, suppressing the remaining resistance. Through your ironclad rule, you dominated Middle-earth. Furthermore, through continuous analysis of Titan relics from Ulduar and Uldaman, you thoroughly understood the mysteries of life, integrating science and religion to the utmost. Now, you have evolved to the limits of science and technology, becoming a truly ultimate life form.

[At the same time, you also agreed to the requests of several of your loyal subordinates and mechanized their bodies. In addition to Thranduil, Sauron, Saruman, Brewful Stonefist, and Bex were all successfully transformed. Even Smaug became a mechanical dragon, with extremely powerful strength.]

Between 2840 and 2900, at Sauron's suggestion, you set your sights on Valinor, the divinely blessed land. Legend has it that this is where the Valar dwell. According to Sauron, within the material realm, any Valar is invincible, and no one can surpass them.

Is it true that no one can win? This war between humans and gods raged for sixty years, but in the end, you were the last one to have the last laugh. Although the Valar are immortal, this is nothing to you, who have seen the true nature of life. You have imprisoned their souls in a cage. Perhaps only until the end of the world can they return to the side of Ilúvatar, the creator god.

[Ilúvatar did not appear during or after this. Perhaps he had already appeared, or perhaps he had fallen. You don’t care much about this.]

After conquering Valinor, you gathered the strength of the nation and built a massive steel fortress in the sky. You transformed it into your own kingdom, where you could listen to the voices of people from all over the world and guard against foreign enemies from other regions.

In the years that followed, you sat in the kingdom of God, listening to the prayers of the people. Your thoughts, like a vast network, connected to every corner of the country, day and night. Now, like the legendary Qin Shi Huang, you can use your godlike computing power to predict the lives of all your subjects and make judgments on their fates. In a sense, you have become a walking god among men.

In September 2920, in a fleeting moment, you and your kingdom of God are no longer in Middle-earth. Before you lies a dazzling new world—your journey has just begun.
