[Of course you know who this voice belongs to, the Lich King Ner'zhul, a miserable old orc. After betraying the demon Kil'jaeden, he was tortured and transformed into the Lich King, imprisoned on the Frozen Throne deep in Icecrown Glacier.]

The sound was incredibly loud, like a tape recorder, but thinking of Ner'zhul himself, you decided to forgive him. Your lips curled up exaggeratedly, feeling that he might be a profound old orc, and also a challenging gameplay option. You wondered if you could control him, or if he could control you? Without hesitation, you changed your destination and headed for Northrend.

In June of the 18th year, you sailed to the northern continent of Northrend, accompanied by your guide, archaeologist Tomley Maegillas from the Explorers' Guild of Ironforge. He intended to travel to Howling Fjord to meet with Brann Bronzebeard and explore the history of the dwarves together—although you promised not to guarantee his safety.

Thomley told you that Azeroth calls Northrend the "Roof of the World." It's a glacier, a land of ice and snow. Within Northrend lies a vast area where the bones of thousands of dragons lie piled high. This is the Dragonblight. At the end of their lives, these dragons fly to Northrend to rest with their ancestors. This place is also known as the Dragon's Homeland.

From June 18 to March 6, Thomli Maegilas disembarked in Howling Fjord. You had no interest in dealing with a seemingly harmless, honest man. Before leaving, he told you you were a good person and looked forward to joining you on your next adventure. Later, upon reaching Dragonblight, you witnessed countless blue, green, and bronze dragons soaring through the sky like mosquitoes, occasionally spewing fire at the ground. On the frozen, snow-covered earth, countless gigantic spider demons called nerubians, along with ghouls, gargoyles, and skeletons, scurried about. It was quite thrilling. At this moment, Ner'zhul's voice echoed in your mind again, instructing you to traverse the vast underground network of Azjol-Nerub—the nerubian realm—to reach Icecrown Citadel.

In Azjol-Nerub, you saw a mystery waiting to be explored. Once, a powerful and advanced civilization existed here, its underground halls filled with gems and magical artifacts, but they were locked. You tentatively dropped a bomb into the underground halls, causing a series of collapses! Wow! Finally, with the help of an undead spider demon named Anub'arak, and after months of trekking, you escaped and reached the glacier beneath Icecrown. (You obtained the raid gem: Azjol-Nerub.)

At the end of April 19, within the glacier, you encountered another living human, a seemingly aloof human mage named Kel'Thuzad. Ner'zhul's undead guardian, a four-meter-tall vrykul skeleton, led you into Icecrown Citadel, a massive fortress constructed of saronite, inhabited by a diverse array of powerful undead. When you finally ascended the towering Frozen Throne, you encountered a ghost clad in pitch-black armor, sealed within a massive block of ice. Was this the legendary Lich King?

He attempted to force your submission, thereby controlling your soul. In exchange, you were promised eternal life and immense magical power. However, your deeply chaotic mindset made you evade all attempts at brainwashing and manipulation. You keenly recognized this as an opportunity. According to your observations, after enduring torture at the hands of the demon Kil'jaeden, Ner'zhul's mental state was on the verge of collapse. Through acting and rhetoric, you successfully gained Ner'zhul's trust. He considered you his confidant, granting you immense magical power and the ability to command the undead. Next, he issued your first order: Travel to Lordaeron and found a cult venerating the Lich King as their deity.

You had no interest in this, but someone else did... Kel'Thuzad, who entered Icecrown Citadel with you, had completely surrendered to the Lich King. Returning with you to Lordaeron, he quickly urged you to begin recruiting members. Under Kel'Thuzad's spells, a large number of Lordaeron citizens, fresh from the pain of war and the hardships of life, quickly joined your underground cult. At Kel'Thuzad's suggestion, you named this organization the Cult of the Damned, promising its acolytes social equality and eternal life in exchange for their loyalty to Ner'zhul. Throughout this process, you largely idled, while Kel'Thuzad recruited many lowly laborers into the cult. Using money and illusions, he easily persuaded the citizens to reject the Light and embrace Ner'zhul's shadowy powers.

At the end of September 19, you returned to Stormwind Kingdom and repeated that the Black Dragon Lady tasted quite good. After spending a few nights there, you brought your capable men, Hogg and Putress, back to Lordaeron.

In January 20, you first met Arthas, though only a fleeting glimpse from afar. By then, he was already a moderately powerful paladin, a pathetic figure. He was with Varian Wrynn, the exiled former king of Stormwind, and the two of them were now inseparable companions. You also met Jaina, also a person of uncertain will. To you, they were both merely the easy part of your "game."

At the end of February, you met a dreadlord named Mal'Ganis in Lordaeron. According to him, he was responsible for luring Prince Arthas of Lordaeron to join the Scourge. Somehow, you felt that you seemed to be the same kind of people.

In March of the 20th year, due to your and Kel'Thuzad's success in Lordaeron, you were once again summoned back to Icecrown Citadel by Ner'zhul. The Lich King gave you artifacts called Plague Cauldrons and instructed you to place them in the village to spread the plague. You showed no interest in this tasteless, crude method, but Kel'Thuzad took the entire responsibility. Many unsuspecting villagers quickly died from the infection and were resurrected as mindless zombies.

In April of the 20th year, Ner'zhul entrusted Mal'Ganis with another order: Either you or Kel'Thuzad will die at the hands of Arthas, and this will be part of Arthas's corruption. In return, he will resurrect the victim and grant him eternal life... Only a fool could do this! But Kel'Thuzad was such a fool, and he actually went to his death so calmly.

As Ner'zhul planned, Kel'Thuzad was killed by Arthas, Varian, and Jaina. Before dying, he revealed to Arthas that the true culprits were you, who were in Stratholme, and the dreadlord Mal'Ganis. After Kel'Thuzad's death, you took over his control of the Cult of the Damned. This sect, comprised mostly of Shadow-worshipping zealots, was particularly easy to brainwash and manipulate. Within a few days, you completely controlled the sect. Furthermore, thanks to your design, Mal'Ganis was discovered by the Knights of the Silver Hand, led by Uther, three days later. He unexpectedly died and returned to the Twisting Nether.
