Rebirth of the Scumbag and the Retribution of the White Lotus
Chapter 11 Secret Contest
Since Li Ting started selling her handmade products at the market, she's not only earned some pocket money but also gained experience and connections. She's gradually realized that while this small business might not be profitable, if she could expand it, it could pave the way for future plans. Li Ting is no longer content with just the small gains she's made; her goals are bigger and more ambitious.
That day, Li Ting went to the market early as usual. She set up a stall next to Aunt Liu's, and business was better than in the previous few days. Gradually, Li Ting began to accumulate some repeat customers, which made her more confident.
"Tingting, do you want to expand the scale?" Aunt Liu observed for a long time and finally couldn't help but speak.
Li Ting was stunned for a moment, then smiled: "Auntie, I just thought this business was good, but I didn't expect to have some customers so soon." She didn't answer directly, but she knew that Aunt Liu was a shrewd person.
"If you're willing, I can introduce you to some wholesale merchants." Aunt Liu clearly saw her potential. "If you do well, you will definitely go far."
Li Ting's eyes lit up, and she thought to herself: Wholesalers? This might be a good opportunity. She knew that if she could expand her business, she could not only make more money but also gain a higher social status through this channel, accumulating capital for her future revenge plan.
She nodded: "Thank you, Auntie, can you take me to see these merchants?"
Aunt Liu smiled and said, "No problem, come with me." Then she took Li Ting to find some long-term business partners. Although the businesses weren't very large, they could offer Li Ting lower prices, giving her a greater profit margin.
Li Ting's dealings with these merchants grew steadily, and her business gradually took off. She found more suitable sources of goods through various channels and even began to consider selling online to expand her customer base. At the same time, she had a clearer goal in mind: through all this, she would accumulate wealth and lay a solid foundation for her future revenge.
As Li Ting's business took off, Zhao Shufang's schemes began to brew. Rather than respecting Li Ting's success, she grew jealous of her counterattacks. She knew that once Li Ting achieved financial independence and social status, her former advantages would vanish.
One day, Zhao Shufang suddenly walked into Li Ting's room and said casually, "Sister, I heard that you've been selling things at the market recently, and your business seems to be doing well."
Li Ting was already alert when she heard her lukewarm tone. She replied calmly, "It's okay. I can make a little money."
Zhao Shufang chuckled: "But, sister, you have to be careful. That market is not a good place. Many people do shady business."
Li Ting's heart tightened, and she knew what she was hinting at, so she calmly replied: "Thank you for your reminder, I will pay attention to it myself." She thought to herself: Zhao Shufang must be taking the opportunity to sow discord between her and the merchants in the market, and plan to do some small tricks.
Sure enough, a few days later, Li Ting ran into a merchant she had worked with before at the market. The merchant told her hesitantly, "Li Ting, your handmade product business is doing well, but I've heard some rumors about you recently."
Li Ting was stunned and frowned slightly: "What rumor?"
The merchant whispered, "Someone says the stuff you sell is of poor quality and made of inferior materials. I'm not entirely sure, but the person's claims are convincing. You'd better pay attention."
Li Ting was shocked. It turned out to be Zhao Shufang behind the scenes. She didn't react immediately, but calmly replied, "Thank you for telling me. I'll check carefully to make sure everything is alright."
Seeing Li Ting so calm, the merchant nodded and expressed his understanding: "Be careful. After all, reputation is important in doing business."
Li Ting wasn't discouraged; instead, she became even more alert. She realized that Zhao Shufang wasn't just behind the scenes; she was deliberately spreading rumors in an attempt to harm her business. Li Ting knew she couldn't just sit there and wait for death; she had to take the initiative.
A few days later, Li Ting decided to talk to her stepmother. She knew that if Zhao Shufang launched an offensive, her stepmother would definitely take action. She decided to break the silence and confront the situation directly.
"Mom, can we talk?" Li Ting walked up to her stepmother, her tone calm but firm.
The stepmother glanced at her and said impatiently, "What's the matter? Can't you solve it yourself?"
Li Ting took a deep breath and walked up to her. "I know you've never liked me, but this matter is not as simple as you think. Zhao Shufang spread rumors behind my back and affected my business. Don't you plan to do something about it?"
The stepmother frowned and said, "Don't make random guesses. How could Zhao Shufang do that?" She said this, but her heart began to waver.
Li Ting looked at her with a sharp glint in her eyes: "Mom, don't you care? I know what she is doing, and I know you have known it for a long time. Now, if you don't stop her, I don't mind letting everyone know about her tricks behind the scenes."
The stepmother's face looked a little ugly, and finally she said coldly: "What are you going to do?"
Li Ting smiled calmly. "I'll go to the market to find those merchants and personally prove that my goods are fine. As for Zhao Shufang, if she dares to provoke me, I won't be polite."
The stepmother looked at Li Ting, her heart trembled slightly, and in the end she said nothing, just snorted coldly and turned away.
Li Ting knew that while her stepmother didn't support her, she at least didn't offer any resistance. With a sense of security in her heart, her next plan became clearer. She decided not to rely on her stepmother anymore, but to rely entirely on her own abilities to thwart Zhao Shufang's scheme.
Just as Li Ting was about to go to the market to face Zhao Shufang again, something unexpected happened. A small wholesaler approached Li Ting and told her that a major shopping mall was interested in her handmade products and wanted to collaborate with her. This mall was the largest in the area and had strong partnerships with several well-known brands.
Li Ting asked in surprise: "Are you sure they are interested in my things?"
The vendor nodded. "They're very optimistic about your handmade products and think they have great market potential. If you're willing to cooperate, I can take you to meet them."
Li Ting was thrilled. This was undoubtedly a huge opportunity. If she could cooperate with this mall, her business would see a qualitative leap, not only expanding her sales channels but also greatly improving her social status.
So, Li Ting nodded without hesitation: "I'm willing to meet them."
