God Slayer: Make Up for the Past

Chapter 51 The Test of the Ruins

After the ruins guardian disappeared, the cave fell into silence, with only the crackling of burning torches occasionally breaking the solemn atmosphere. The treasure in Chu Feng's hand emitted a cold light, reflecting his slightly solemn face.

"What does it mean..." Pan Yue repeated his previous question, his brow furrowed. He reached out and touched the cave wall. His fingertips felt a strange sensation, like the skin of some creature, smooth and cold. "This wall..."

Chu Feng also stepped forward and touched it. It felt strange indeed. "This ruins are full of strangeness." He looked around. The empty cave was empty except for them. The traces of the previous battle seemed to have been erased by some force, with a cleanness that was somewhat unnatural.

"The true test..." Chu Feng muttered to himself, trying to comprehend the meaning of the Ruins Guardian's last words. What was the test? How would it proceed? Without any clues, they felt like they were thrown into a huge puzzle, with no idea where to begin.

Explorer Luo stepped forward, his experience meticulously examining every detail of the cave. "This ruin's construction style is unique," he said, pointing to some strange symbols on the wall. "I've never seen these before. Perhaps they hold some clues."

Researcher Tong also joined the observation, carefully studying the symbols with a magnifying glass, occasionally writing something in his notebook. "The arrangement of these symbols is very regular, it seems to be an ancient writing system."

Just as everyone was racking their brains, a subtle rustling sound emanated from deep within the cave, as if something were moving. Chu Feng immediately became alert and signaled for everyone to remain silent. "Someone!" he whispered, tightening his grip on his weapon.

Pan Yue reacted immediately, drew his dagger, and stood guard. "Are they from Mo's mysterious organization? They haven't left yet?"

Chu Feng shook his head. The sound didn't sound like human footsteps, but more like the sound of some small creature crawling. "Be careful, something's wrong."

As the rustling sound got closer, Chu Feng discovered that tiny cracks began to appear on the cave wall, and some gravel fell from the cracks. He suddenly realized that this was not a natural phenomenon, but someone was secretly sabotaging it!

"It's Mo's mysterious organization! They are destroying the ruins!" Chu Feng immediately understood the other party's intention. They wanted to create chaos, prevent them from passing the test, and even trap them to death here!

"Despicable!" Pan Yue cursed angrily and was about to rush out, but was stopped by Chu Feng. "Don't be impulsive, they are trying to lure us out. There must be other traps in the cave."

Chu Feng narrowed his eyes and carefully observed the cracks on the wall. Suddenly, he noticed a small metal reflective spot. It was the tool used by the members of Mo's mysterious organization to destroy the wall! A sneer appeared at the corner of his mouth, and he already had a countermeasure in his mind.

"Pan Yue, follow me." Chu Feng said in a low voice, then walked to the other side of the cave, where there was an inconspicuous mechanism, which was the one he had discovered before.

"What do you want to do?" Pan Yue asked in confusion.

Chu Feng didn't answer, but smiled mysteriously, then pressed the trigger... A scream came from deep in the cave. "It seems they've dug a hole for themselves," Chu Feng said calmly. Pan Yue looked at Chu Feng, his eyes filled with surprise and admiration...

The mechanism activated, and from deep within the cavern came a grinding, grinding sound, followed by a scream and the sound of something heavy falling. Chu Feng's lips curled up slightly, knowing his plan had succeeded. A member of Mo's mysterious organization had attempted to destroy the wall, but instead triggered a hidden mechanism within, and was struck by falling rocks.

"It seems that those who commit evil will suffer the consequences." Pan Yue looked at Chu Feng with admiration in his eyes. He had not expected Chu Feng to be so meticulous, able to predict the enemy's actions in advance and use the mechanisms in the ruins to counter them.

Explorer Luo and Researcher Tong were also amazed at Chu Feng's wit. Scavenger Shen hid in the corner, trembling, and was glad that he had not participated in the actions of Mo's mysterious organization.

Suddenly, the ground in the center of the cave began to sink, forming a huge circular pit. A faint blue light emanated from the bottom of the pit, and a cold and chilling aura filled the air, making people shudder.

At the same time, the guardian of the ruins reappeared, its voice ethereal and majestic: "The test has changed. Chu Feng, you must face this trial of the abyss alone."

"What?" Chu Feng was shocked. This sudden change caught him off guard.

Pan Yue immediately stood up and said, "Wait, this is so unfair! Why is Chu Feng the only one here?"

The Ruins Guardian ignored Pan Yue's protests, its gaze fixed on Chu Feng: "This is fate's choice, you must face it alone."

Chu Feng took a deep breath. He knew he had no choice. He glanced at Pan Yue with a firm look in his eyes: "Don't worry, I will be back."

After saying this, he leaped into the bottomless abyss. Pan Yue wanted to reach out and pull him out, but it was too late. He could only watch Chu Feng disappear into the darkness, his heart filled with worry and anxiety.

"This... this is too dangerous!" Researcher Tong exclaimed. He couldn't imagine what kind of danger Chu Feng would face.

Explorer Luo's face was solemn. He sensed the immense power hidden within this abyss, and even he didn't dare venture into it lightly. "We must find a way to help him!"

Shen the scavenger was so scared that he collapsed on the ground. He had never seen such a horrific scene and his heart was filled with fear.

Chu Feng plummeted into the abyss, the wind whistling in his ears. He tried to remain calm, observing his surroundings. The walls of the abyss were engraved with ancient runes, emitting a faint glow that illuminated his path.

Suddenly, there was a sharp sound of breaking through the air. Chu Feng instinctively dodged sideways. A sharp stone blade flew past his cheek, leaving a shallow blood mark.

He looked up and saw countless stone blades falling like raindrops from the top of the abyss, so dense that it made his scalp tingle.

Chu Feng landed, his feet firmly on the ground. He looked around and found himself on a huge circular platform. The edge of the platform was connected to the wall of the abyss, and in the center of the platform was a bottomless cave.

Various attacks continuously emerged from the cave, including sharp stone blades, blazing flames, and icy cold air...

Chu Feng's eyes became sharp, he clenched the weapon in his hand, ready to meet the challenge... "Here it comes!" he whispered.

Inside the cave, sharp stone blades rained down like a torrential rain, bearing down on Chu Feng with a shrill whistling sound. His limbs were nimble, as agile as a cheetah, weaving through the cracks between the blades. Each dodge was perfectly timed, a thrilling and exciting experience. Blazing flames erupted from the ground, forming a wall of fire that blocked his path. Chu Feng advanced instead, gathering all his strength and striking out with a single punch. The wind whistled, tearing a crack through the wall of fire. He passed through without hesitation, his clothes singed by the flames, but he paid no heed.

Icy air emanated from the depths of the cave, attempting to freeze Chu Feng's body. He channeled his inner strength to resist the cold, a faint golden glow coating his body like a protective barrier. He continued to move through the cold, searching for a chance to break free.

At the edge of the platform, Pan Yue, Explorer Luo, Researcher Tong, and Scavenger Shen nervously watched Chu Feng's every move, their hearts in their throats. Pan Yue's hands were clenched tightly, his palms wet with sweat. He stared at Chu Feng intently, his eyes filled with worry. Chu Feng's agility in the traps, each evasion and counterattack perfectly timed, amazed his fellow spectators.

"Chu Feng's skills are really getting better and better," Explorer Luo couldn't help but admire, "He can actually navigate such a dangerous environment with ease."

Researcher Tong nodded, his eyes gleaming with admiration. "His reaction speed and judgment are both exceptional. He's truly a leader among the younger generation."

Shen the scavenger was trembling on the side. He was scared to death by the scene before him and secretly felt lucky that he did not participate in this dangerous adventure.

Pan Yue remained silent, his gaze fixed on Chu Feng, his worry undiminished. He knew the dangers Chu Feng faced were far greater than they seemed. This brotherly concern brought a sense of warmth to Chu Feng during the battle, and strengthened his resolve to face the challenge.

After dodging wave after wave of attacks, Chu Feng finally found the trap's weakness. He seized the opportunity, concentrated his strength into a single point, and suddenly unleashed a powerful blow, striking the core of the trap. With a resounding bang, the trap ceased functioning, and the cave returned to peace.

Chu Feng stood in the middle of the platform, sweating all over, but a triumphant smile appeared on his face. He looked up at his companions at the edge of the platform and gave them a reassuring look.

Pan Yue finally breathed a sigh of relief, a pleased smile on his face. Explorer Luo and Researcher Tong also applauded, cheering for Chu Feng's outstanding performance.

However, just when everyone thought the test was over, the Ruins Guardian reappeared, its voice still ethereal and majestic: "You have passed the Trial of the Abyss, but this is only the beginning. To leave the ruins, you still need to complete the final test."

Chu Feng's heart was lifted again, and he vaguely felt that the final test would be even more difficult.

The Ruins Guardian extended a hand, pointing to the cave in the center of the platform: "Enter there, and you will face your deepest fears."

Chu Feng took a deep breath, knowing he had no choice. He glanced at Pan Yue with a determined look and walked towards the cave.

Suddenly, he stopped, his body trembling slightly, and his eyes revealed confusion... "Who... Who am I..."
