God Slayer: Make Up for the Past

Chapter 50: Fight for Treasures

A golden glow enveloped the entire cavern's edge. The treasure hovered quietly in the air, emitting an irresistible allure. Strange runes swirled across its surface, as if imbued with boundless power. Chu Feng and the others held their breath, gradually approaching. However, an invisible resistance blocked their path.

"It's a restriction!" Explorer Luo's face was solemn. He reached out and touched the invisible barrier, and felt a sharp pain at his fingertips. "The energy fluctuations are very strong. I'm afraid it won't be easy to break."

The members of Mo's mysterious organization also sensed the existence of the restriction. They didn't act rashly, but instead dispersed, seemingly searching for a way to break it. The cave fell into an eerie silence, echoed only by the sound of their rapid breathing. The air was filled with tension, like a taut string ready to snap at any moment.

Chu Feng's gaze flickered between the treasure and the members of Mo's mysterious organization, his heart pounding with anxiety. The treasure was so close, yet unreachable, and the enemy's presence added to the uncertainty. He tried to use the power of the Night Watchman to attack the barrier, but it was like a drop in the ocean, completely ineffective.

At this moment, a terrified cry broke the silence of the cave. "Ah!"

Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and saw Shen the Scavenger being captured by a member of Mo's mysterious organization, with a sharp dagger pressed against his neck. Shen the Scavenger's face was pale, his whole body was trembling, and his eyes were filled with fear.

"If you don't want him to die, give up the treasure!" said the leading member of the Mo Mystic Organization with a grin, his eyes full of mockery and cruelty.

Chu Feng's heart sank suddenly. He didn't expect the enemy to use such despicable means. He glanced at Pan Yue and Explorer Luo behind him. Their faces were also full of worry and anger.

"Let him go!" Chu Feng gritted his teeth and suppressed the anger in his heart.

"Treasure!" The member of Mo's mysterious organization repeated, his tone leaving no room for doubt.

Chu Feng was caught in a dilemma. The treasure was crucial to their journey and their fight against evil, but Shen the Scavenger's life was equally important. He clenched his fists tightly, his nails digging deep into his flesh, yet he felt no pain.

Pan Yue walked over to Chu Feng and whispered, "Chu Feng, we can't give up the treasure, but we can't watch him die..." He suddenly paused, his eyes falling on an inconspicuous corner behind the treasure, a gleam of light flashing in his eyes, "Wait..." He pointed at the corner and said hurriedly, "Look there..."

Pan Yue pointed to an inconspicuous corner behind the treasure, where a slightly raised stone slab almost blended in with the surroundings. "Look there, does it look like a mechanism?"

Chu Feng followed Pan Yue's instructions and, as expected, discovered something unusual about the stone slab. He took a deep breath, his mind racing as a bold idea gradually took shape. "I have an idea," he whispered, a flicker of determination in his eyes.

Chu Feng activated his ability to rewind. Time briefly flowed back, returning to the moment before the members of Mo's mysterious organization captured Shen the Scavenger. Everything around him seemed to stand still, and only Chu Feng was able to move freely. He quickly circled behind Shen the Scavenger, pulled him to safety, and then, with lightning speed, pressed the hidden stone tablet.

With a soft "click," the stone slab slowly sank. Suddenly, a loud rumbling sound echoed from the cave. The ground began to shake violently, and rubble from the top of the cave continued to fall. Before the members of the mysterious organization could react, they were startled by the sudden change.

At that moment, a gigantic figure slowly emerged from the shadows behind the treasure. It was a giant composed of rock and energy, emanating a powerful aura, standing before everyone like a guardian deity.

"Guardian of the ruins!" Explorer Luo exclaimed, his face becoming more solemn.

The guardian of the ruins uttered a deep voice, shaking the entire cavern. "Those who trespass into the ruins will only obtain the treasure if they pass the test."

The leader of the mysterious Mo organization had a gloomy expression. He hadn't expected there to be a guardian here. He glanced at the treasure floating in the air, a hint of greed flashing in his eyes, but he quickly concealed it.

"A test?" Chu Feng stepped forward and said firmly, "We are willing to accept the test."

The Ruins Guardian slowly lowered its head, its enormous eyes fixed on Chu Feng, as if examining his heart. "Your courage is commendable," it said slowly, "but the true test is far more cruel than you imagine."

The leader of the members of Mo's mysterious organization sneered and said, "Test? Let's see who dares to stop us!" He waved his hand, and the members behind him immediately dispersed, ready to seize the treasure by force.

The Ruins Guardian roared, and powerful energy waves emanated from it, forcing the members of the mysterious organization to retreat. Its huge arms swung, knocking away the approaching enemies as easily as swatting a fly.

"You are overestimating your own abilities!" the Ruins Guardian roared, "Since you choose to disobey, then accept my punishment!"

The leader of the mysterious Mo organization was not intimidated. His eyes were filled with madness as he shouted, "Go! Kill them, and the treasure will be ours!"

The members of the mysterious organization rushed forward again, holding various weapons in their hands, with greed in their eyes. Chu Feng and others were also ready for battle, knowing that a fierce battle was inevitable.

Pan Yue drew the long sword from behind him, the blade flashing with cold light. He looked at Chu Feng and said, "It seems that we have to solve these troubles first..." His voice was drowned out by the deafening shouts and cries of killing. The battle was about to break out.

Deafening cries of killing instantly filled the cave, and the smoke of battle thickened. Like hungry wolves, members of Mo's mysterious organization pounced on Chu Feng and his companions, swords flashing and shadows clashing, energy waves emanating from them. Chu Feng's eyes were sharp, and his figure moved like a ghost, weaving among the enemies. He swung his longsword with great vigor, each swing carrying a sharp sword energy that drove back the approaching enemies.

"Chu Feng, be careful!" Pan Yue's voice came from the side. The long sword in his hand accurately blocked the attack of an enemy, and the collision of the swords made a harsh sound.

Chu Feng nodded slightly, dodging another enemy's sneak attack and knocking him to the ground with a backhanded sword strike. He and Pan Yue worked in perfect harmony, back to back, forming an impenetrable line of defense that dismantled the enemy's attacks time and time again.

Seeing this, the leader of the mysterious organization grew even gloomier. He hadn't expected Chu Feng and Pan Yue to be so powerful, to be able to withstand the siege of so many of them. He roared angrily and personally joined the battle, stabbing Chu Feng's heart with a dagger emitting a black light.

Chu Feng's eyes focused as he dodged the dagger's attack by leaning sideways. At the same time, he kicked the leader in the abdomen, forcing him back several steps. Seizing the opportunity, he thrust his sword like lightning, striking the leader squarely in the shoulder. The leader screamed, and the dagger in his hand dropped to the ground.

"Leader!" The other members exclaimed in surprise upon seeing this. They had not expected that even the leader was no match for Chu Feng, and their morale immediately plummeted.

Chu Feng pursued the enemy with his sword, swinging it even more fiercely, knocking them to the ground one by one. The members of the mysterious Mo organization began to retreat step by step, their eyes filled with fear, and they no longer had the courage to fight.

"Let's go!" The leader shouted unwillingly, clutching his injured shoulder. He knew that if they continued fighting, their entire army would be annihilated.

The remaining members of the Mo Mystic Organization fled the cave in panic, leaving behind a pile of wounded and weapons. The battle was finally over, and Chu Feng and Pan Yue both breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at each other.

"I knew you could do it." Pan Yue looked at Chu Feng, his eyes full of trust.

Chu Feng smiled, patted Pan Yue on the shoulder and said, "Let's work hard together." These simple words contained the deep friendship and trust between the two.

Chu Feng walked over to the suspended treasure and reached out to take it down. The treasure felt cold to the touch, emitting a faint energy fluctuation. At this moment, the Ruins Guardian slowly turned around, its huge eyes fixed on Chu Feng.

"You have passed the test." The deep voice of the ruins guardian echoed in the cave. "The treasure is yours."

Chu Feng was delighted, but soon calmed down. He knew they still needed to leave the ruins safely with the treasure. He looked at the ruins guardian and asked, "Can we leave now?"

The guardian of the ruins didn't answer directly, but slowly said, "The true test has only just begun..." Its voice abruptly stopped, and its huge figure gradually disappeared into the shadows, leaving only an empty cave and the puzzled eyes of Chu Feng and others. Pan Yue walked over to Chu Feng and whispered, "What does it mean..." He reached out and touched the cave wall, and felt a strange touch on his fingertips.
