After Ling Xiaotian and Cheng Yuwei returned to the Marshal's Mansion, they quickly deployed a new round of defenses. The enemy's repeated attacks were unsuccessful, yet they remained stubborn, suggesting that someone behind the scenes might be plotting a larger conspiracy.

The two smiled at each other, with a determined light in their eyes. However, the warm moment did not last long, as a guard hurriedly rushed into the study, breaking the tranquility.

"Report! General, the captain of the guards is wandering in the backyard of the mansion, seemingly waiting for someone."

Ling Xiaotian and Cheng Yuwei looked at each other, then immediately got up and rushed to the backyard.

In the pitch-black darkness, the captain of the guards quietly took out a secret letter and glanced around, as if waiting for someone to come and retrieve it. Ling Xiaotian and Cheng Yuwei hid in the shadows, quietly observing. Soon, a dark figure quietly approached the captain of the guards. The two spoke in low voices, exchanging information.

Ling Xiaotian's eyes were stern, and he was about to order an arrest, but Cheng Yuwei stopped him. She whispered, "Xiaotian, why don't you follow the clues and see where this shadow will lead the information."

Ling Xiaotian nodded, signaling his men to continue monitoring the shadow's movements. Sure enough, not long after, the shadow quickly departed with the secret letter, heading for a hidden location outside the city. Cheng Yuwei personally led several elite guards, following behind, quietly approaching the enemy stronghold.

Inside the enemy stronghold, a masked man coldly examined the contents of the secret letter. Cheng Yuwei, hidden in the shadows, carefully observed the man's every move. The man whispered, "It seems Ling Xiaotian is still lax in his defense, and the Marshal's Mansion hasn't yet realized our true purpose."

Cheng Yuwei sneered inwardly, knowing they had grasped the key clue. At this moment, she gently made a gesture, signaling her men to prepare to surround the enemy. Before the enemy could react, Cheng Yuwei rushed out first, leading everyone to surround the enemy.

The enemy leader looked at Cheng Yuwei in astonishment and sneered, "I never thought Ling Xiaotian's woman would have such tricks."

Cheng Yuwei smiled faintly, patted the dust from her hands, and said with a smile: "Xiaotian, protecting the Marshal's Mansion is my responsibility. With you fighting bravely in the front, I will naturally clear the obstacles for you behind you."

Ling Xiaotian couldn't help but put his hand gently around her shoulders and whispered, "Yuwei, let's fight side by side and embrace the future together."
