The fighting subsided, and a brief moment of peace returned to Ling Xiaotian's mansion. However, Cheng Yuwei still felt a faint sense of unease. Although General Xie had suffered a great loss this time, with his methods, he would never give up.

Cheng Yuwei nodded slightly: "I will do my best to assist, don't worry." She knew that her familiarity with these medicines might come in handy.

Cheng Yuwei decided to start with the daily medications used in the Marshal's Mansion, secretly checking each one. She soon discovered that the dosages of certain herbs were unreasonable, as if someone had secretly mixed them in an attempt to induce mild hallucinations or discomfort in the soldiers, thereby shaking their morale.

She told Ling Xiaotian about this discovery and analyzed, "These drugs may not be enough to cause obvious symptoms in the soldiers, but over time, the emotional impact will weaken morale and may even make them suspicious of the Marshal's Mansion."

A hint of coldness flashed in Ling Xiaotian's eyes. "General Xie's tactics are truly vicious! He thought this would split my team, but as long as we find out the identities of these people, his scheme will be shattered."

The two immediately formulated a countermeasure and decided to use this clue to track down the spy lurking in the Marshal's Mansion.

That night, Ling Xiaotian and his secret guards set up an ambush, capturing a servant attempting to secretly deliver the drug. After rigorous interrogation, the servant finally broke down under Ling Xiaotian's authority and revealed several spies General Xie had planted within the mansion. Ling Xiaotian's expression froze as he listened, and he immediately ordered the capture of these spies, eliminating the potential threat to the Marshal's mansion.

Seeing the spies being apprehended one after another, Cheng Yuwei's anxiety gradually subsided and she breathed a sigh of relief: "Xiaotian, we're safe for now."

Ling Xiaotian gently held her hand and said gratefully, "Yuwei, if it weren't for your keen insight, I'm afraid it would be difficult for me to eliminate these traitors so quickly."

Cheng Yuwei smiled slightly and said mischievously: "Then shouldn't you thank me properly?"

Cheng Yuwei pursed her lips and chuckled: "Why don't you walk with me in the city? I've been busy lately, and it's time to relax."

The next day, Ling Xiaotian kept his promise and brought Cheng Yuwei to the city. The streets were bustling with people, the cries of vendors echoed one after another, and the lively atmosphere around them was pleasant.

The two walked side by side, seemingly oblivious to the conflict behind them. Cheng Yuwei stopped in front of a candied haws stall, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. Ling Xiaotian saw this, smiled slightly, bought a bunch, and handed it to her: "Try it, it's a famous snack here."

Cheng Yuwei took it and took a bite. The sweet and sour taste melted in her mouth, and a satisfied smile appeared on her face. She turned to look at Ling Xiaotian and raised the candied haws in her hand playfully: "Would you like to try one?"

Ling Xiaotian was stunned for a moment, then he chuckled, lowered his head, and took a bite of the candied haws she handed him. The two smiled at each other, and the noise around them seemed to disappear, leaving only each other's eyes looking affectionately at each other.

However, during their warm rendezvous, one of Ling Xiaotian's confidants hurried over and reported solemnly, "Marshal, we've discovered new intelligence from General Xie's undercover team. He's plotting to collude with foreign enemies!"

Ling Xiaotian's expression suddenly darkened. "External enemy? He's really going to any lengths to try and bring the wolf into the house!"

Cheng Yuwei was also surprised: "If he really attracts foreign enemies, the people on the border will suffer even more. We must find a way to stop him."

Ling Xiaotian looked at her with a serious expression: "General Xie is colluding with the foreign enemy to divert my attention. But this also gives us a new opportunity. Perhaps we can find more hidden forces through this line."

Cheng Yuwei nodded, her tone firm: "General Xie has been plotting and scheming time and time again, and we will not sit idly by. Xiaotian, you go deal with him. I will research defensive potions in the mansion and assist you in the upcoming battle."

Ling Xiaotian looked at her deeply and gently took her hand: "Yuwei, this battle may be even more dangerous. Are you really not afraid?"

Cheng Yuwei shook his hand firmly and said with a smile, "Since I have chosen to stand by you, I will not back down. No matter how great the danger, we will face it together."
