Time Travel: Ancient Martial Arts Chronicles

Chapter 35: The fog and their respective journeys

The forest was like a maze, filled with terrifying things. Ye Wuhen's disappearance was like a bomb, shattering the hearts of the reconnaissance team members. They searched the area until their voices were hoarse, but there was no trace of Ye Wuhen. They felt like they had lost their souls, and they were all dejected. But there was nothing they could do but rush back to their family. They had to tell them this terrible thing as soon as possible so that they could organize people to rescue the captain.

As for Lin Xiaoxiao, Bai Zhi, and Lin Yu, they were unaware of Ye Wuhen's affairs and were currently deep in the other side of the forest. They had come here to find the legendary magical herb that could cure all diseases. This magical herb was like a great treasure; if they found it, it would be a huge success.

Lin Xiaoxiao's pet, a clever little fox, hopped around in front, its tail swishing like a tour guide. But the little fox would occasionally look back, its eyes saying, "Hey, you better keep close, this place is spooky!"

"Can we really find that magical herb? Why does this forest feel like it's getting weirder and weirder?" Bai Zhi frowned, her brows almost twisted into a knot. The surrounding vegetation was so dense, like a wall of green. The vines twisted and twirled on the ground like giant worms, looking like they were plotting something sinister.

Lin Yu was quite calm. He walked up and patted Bai Zhi with quite a bit of force. "Hey, sister, what are you afraid of? We've come this far, how can we turn back? Besides, for the sake of those suffering people, we must get the spiritual herbs. Don't be a coward!" He said this, but he was a little worried in his heart. This place was indeed a bit eerie.

Lin Xiaoxiao ignored them and stared at the little fox. Suddenly, the little fox, as if struck by lightning, its fur stood up, and it began growling softly in front of it. The sound was like a small motor, "woooo." The three of them immediately became nervous and looked in the direction the little fox was looking. Wow, in the mist, there were pairs of eyes shining faintly, like will-o'-the-wisps, which were very scary to look at.

"Oh my god, let's get ready for a fight!" Lin Yu yelled, his voice crackling like a gong, and with a swish, he pulled out his sword, a cold gleam in his hand, like a flash of lightning. Bai Zhi was no slouch either, gripping her staff and chanting a spell, the mumbling incantation akin to a tight-fitting curse. Lin Xiaoxiao quickly patted the little fox's head, ready to command it to join him.

The monsters in the mist slowly emerged, and they looked terrifying. They looked like wolves, but with large wings on their backs. Their wings flapped, stirring up a gust of wind. Their maws were wide open, their fangs like tiny daggers, gleaming coldly. They howled and pounced on the three people and the fox.

Lin Yu was really fierce. He rushed forward with his sword in hand, shouting, "Come on, you ugly monsters, I'll take care of you!" His swordsmanship was really sharp. Every strike of his sword could force the monsters back. But the monsters were like crazy, coming in wave after wave. Lin Yu was almost overwhelmed and was exhausted. "Oh my god, these guys are going to die!"

Bai Zhi wasn't idle either, casting spells one after another. With a wave of her staff, beams of light shot out like cannonballs, hitting the monster, causing it to scream. This only irritated the monster, causing it to attack even more fiercely.

Lin Xiaoxiao seized the opportunity and shouted to the little fox, "Little clever, go!" The little fox rushed into the monster pile like a small cannonball, using its small and nimble body to shuttle between the monsters and disrupt their attacks. Lin Xiaoxiao also took out her precious dagger, the gem on the dagger gleaming in the mist. She also joined the battle, fighting and shouting, "Don't let me down!"

As the fight progressed, Lin Xiaoxiao, with her sharp eyes, noticed that the monsters seemed to be protecting something. In the mist behind them, a ball of light loomed, a mysterious glow. "Hey, look! There seems to be something behind that!" Lin Xiaoxiao shouted at the top of her voice.

While fending off the monster's attacks, Lin Yu and Bai Zhi took a moment to take a look. Lin Yu panted and said, "Oh my god, could that be the spiritual herb? We can't let these guys guard it."

In that moment of distraction, a monster seized the opportunity and pounced on Lin Yu's back, its claws stretched out like five small sickles. "Lin Yu, be careful!" Bai Zhi screamed and quickly used a powerful magic move. A powerful magic shot towards the monster, directly blasting it away and causing it to fall to the ground howling.

"We have to think of a way to break through these guys' defenses and get the things in that ball of light." Lin Xiaoxiao shouted, her eyes wide open like two copper bells.

"Okay, Baizhi and I will attract their attention, and you find a chance to rush over." Lin Yu shouted, and then he started fighting with the monsters again.

After a hard fight, Lin Xiaoxiao finally spotted an opening. She shouted, "Little Fox, charge!" Like two bolts of lightning, the man and the fox rushed toward the ball of light. But as they approached, a powerful force crashed down upon them like a wall. Lin Xiaoxiao felt as if she were being grabbed by a giant hand, and the world around her began to blur, as if she had been dropped into a blender.

"Oh my god, what's going on?" Lin Xiaoxiao screamed in terror, her voice distorted. The little fox bit the corner of her clothes tightly, its eyes full of fear, and its little body trembling.

Back at the clan, a rescue team, led by an elder, marched towards the forest with high spirits. They were incredibly well-equipped, armed with all sorts of advanced detection tools, including infrared scanners, life detectors, and other formidable weapons, as if they were ready for a major battle.

The elder walked in front, his expression as serious as a stone. "Listen up, everyone. We must find Ye Wuhen, even if we have to turn this forest upside down. Do you understand?" The team members shouted in unison: "Understood!" The sound echoed at the edge of the forest like the sound of a war drum.

In this forest, Ye Wuhen is still struggling in a mysterious space, Lin Xiaoxiao and the others are in big trouble, and the family rescue team is on the way. Everyone is like a small boat in the ocean, swaying on the waves of fate. Their stories are like a tangled mess, and no one knows what will happen next. It's really exciting.

In that mysterious space, Ye Wuhen was trapped. It was pitch black, with only a few flickering lights and shadows, like a dance of ghosts. He tried to struggle, but his spiritual power seemed frozen, unable to be used.

"What a lousy place! It's so fucking weird!" Ye Wuhen couldn't help but curse. He was so anxious, like an ant on a hot pot. He was thinking about the members of the reconnaissance team and was also worried about the safety of his family. "I can't die here. My family is waiting for me."

He stared at the lights and shadows, noticing a pattern. "Hey, there's a pattern here," he thought. He began to follow them, as if on an invisible path. It wasn't an easy path; sometimes it felt like climbing a mountain, sometimes like swimming in water, leaving him feeling disoriented.

Meanwhile, Lin Xiaoxiao felt the force still pulling at her. She struggled desperately, but it felt like she was stuck to her body with glue. "Baizhi, Linyu, come save me!" she cried, but her voice seemed swallowed by this strange space. The little fox was also squeaking beside her, extremely anxious.

Lin Yu and Bai Zhi saw Lin Xiaoxiao being sucked away, and their eyes turned red with anxiety. "Lin Xiaoxiao, hold on!" Lin Yu shouted, trying to rush over, but was entangled by the monsters. Bai Zhi also said anxiously: "We have to get rid of these guys quickly and save Xiaoxiao."

Just when they were extremely anxious, a strange roar suddenly came from the group of monsters. Those monsters seemed to have received some orders and suddenly changed their attack method. They began to form a circle, trapping Lin Yu and Bai Zhi in the middle.

"Oh my god, what the hell are these guys doing?" Lin Yu waved his sword, trying to break through the encirclement. Bai Zhi was observing the monsters' movements, "They don't seem to want us to rescue Xiaoxiao. There must be a conspiracy."

The family rescue team had already entered the forest, which was full of traps, sometimes a big pit, sometimes vines that suddenly appeared.

"Everyone be careful, there are pits everywhere here." A team member shouted.

"What are you afraid of? With us here, these little tricks are nothing." Another team member said nonchalantly.

The elder looked at the surroundings, his brows furrowed even more tightly. "Don't be careless. This forest is not a simple place. Everyone, be vigilant."

Ye Wuhen continued to explore the mysterious space and found some strange patterns on the wall. Those patterns seemed to be telling an ancient story. "Does this have anything to do with the evil power in the forest?" he muttered to himself.

Lin Xiaoxiao felt her consciousness was a little blurry. The force was getting stronger and stronger, and she felt like she was being pulled into another world. "I can't just disappear like this..." She said silently in her heart, trying to stay awake.

Lin Yu and Bai Zhi continued their bitter battle against the monsters. They knew time was running out. If they couldn't escape the monsters and rescue Lin Xiaoxiao quickly, they might never see her again. Meanwhile, the family's rescue team struggled through the forest. How close were they to Ye Wuhen? What would become of Lin Xiaoxiao? Everything remained a mystery, like the fog in the forest, shrouding everyone's mind.
